    1:16 scale LMS Explorer

Today and yesterday I revisited my 1:16 model and looked for mistakes and areas, which needed some work. Well, I've found some and here is a short list of what I've basicly done: version 1.1: -replaced some (small) pieces with (bigger) ones to reduce the piece count and to optimize the stability -Solved construction errors in some areas, where the bricks didn't even have contact to the rest of the ship. In the end I deleted a few details, because I couldn't have details and stability at once. Therefore I choose stability, because that's more important (if someone wants to build a real life version of it). -the bottom of the ship is now flat. In my opinion it looks better and you can put the ship on a flat surface without wobbles, because of overhanging pieces. version 1.2: -got rid of the modularity. It's maybe disappointing, but on the other side you needed many small pieces, which wasn't good for stability either. -replaced some (smaller) bricks with (bigger) bricks to optimize the stability result: a reduced piece count (from 1338 to 1188). More stability. Solving some construction errors. Deleted a few details, because it caused an instable construction. Better bottomside (flat and more stable). Here are two pictures of the new version (1.2):

I took a short break from this project, but I got back into it today. Here is how things are so far. I'm very pleased with the lighting and perspective, now I just need to finish texturing the table (going for wood I think) and maybe add another small vehicle or two and I'll consider it done for now.

This is a simple modding tool for LEGO Racers which makes the process of inserting custom skin textures into the game easier. Using the GUI which is designed to look like the in-game character builder, you can scroll through all the textured body parts in the game (note that some parts don't have textures, but are defined separately in the binary files), select your desired part, and import a custom texture. The application then gives it the correct name and places it in the correct folders on your desktop, structured as an extracted LEGO.JAM file for ease. I made this tool as I discovered that the process of naming textures became laborious, as I had to frequently check my parts list and in some cases decipher which textures matched which character. The Character Skinner is therefore intended to aid this process, and is aimed at both beginner and advanced modders. I would like to give a huge thanks to le717 for helping me on the Python side of the tool, having never used Python before you really helped me. And thank you for your support along the way, despite my frequent nonsensical outbursts whenever I hit an error. Note: There are two keyboard shortcuts to make modification through the app faster. Pressing the Enter key performs the same function as clicking the 'Modify Texture' button, and the arrow keys can be used as an alternative to the on-screen arrow keys. Download Character Skinner v1.1 Character Skinner v1.0 Requirements - 24MB hard disk space - Windows operating system - The latest versions of Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR Installation Simply extract the .ZIP file and place it anywhere you have read/write permissions. For administrators this includes Program Files; for limited users this is restricted to folders such as My Documents and Desktop. IMPORTANT: Everything inside the Character Skinner folder must stay as-is, any changes to names or folder positions will crash the program. If you wish to hide the folder, just create a shortcut to the Character Skinner.exe file in the root directory. Note: This cannot currently be done, I will patch it in v1.2. Version History Character Skinner v1.1 - Added higher quality music and sound on/off button - Matched 'Close Help Window' text to other text buttons - Added file conversion for non-BMP images Planned Updates Note: Items with a strike through have been completed, but not yet updated. - Modification of expressions - Cycle menu options using up/down arrow keys - Mac support - Option to save to GAMEDATA and MENUDATA folders individually I have already started work on a Track Skinner, however this will take significantly longer due to the amount of different tracks and textures.

    I am the real Infomaniac

Ha! a friend sent me a sample where the infomaniac was used...I am sincerely am honored..Why? because I wrote, designed and was the creative director of LEGO Island and designed the infomanic- many people and the staff said he looks like you...I didn't intend that but well....The product started in 1995 and realeased in 1997.the software abd development was pretty antiqye compared what was it was capable of doing then...but all and all- cool for seeing this...I gotta tell you- it was quite a maze to figure out how to register and I hope one can read this...Cheers all.

    Hello

Hello everyone, I am Masiaf. The name comes from a character in my drawings and my set off scifi novel. I can draw quite well on some things, but its not the best. I found my old LRR game from my youth somewhere, installed it, and came across the d3dmr.ll error. I looked it up on here, got it fixed and got to playing. Technology seems to step back when I played it these last few weeks. Comparing this and Halo Wars shows the best of art during 1999-2000, But the amazing games were the classic ones and its hard to find an amazing RTS game like LRR. I easily remebered how to play LRR and can play better than I could when I first got it. I may get some mods downloaded from here to make the game better.

I just tried it, and I was really surprised by this modding tool. This makes the tedious texture naming/adding redundant, I'm very happy with that. I do notice that your tool adds the textures to both MENUDATA and GAMEDATA, will there be an option later for choosing in which of the two folders you want to save it?

A revised version without the modular pieces. In real life it's probably more stable and it also has a reduced piece count (from 1338 to 1188 bricks).

Adobe AIR. He uses it for the GUI, and Python (the script frozen into an exe) for the actual work.

  13. RRU pops up on some Roller Coaster Tycoon search results when people are looking for patches or help running the game. We get more people here asking for help with RTC than one might think. Please don't deny help to people asking about non-LEGO games since we aren't 100% LEGO-based. Also, don't give us that lame excuse that you didn't have time to search for a topic. If you're on RRU, it's likely that you have five minutes to use the search function. :)
