LEGO Racers Recreations
Brightfall reacted to Jimbob for a topic
UPDATE: If you'd like to build these models yourself, check out the part lists and instructions I've made here. LEGO Racers Recreations The characters in Lego Racers are so great, that after seeing many pictures of people's recreations of them, I decided I had to have my own. Not just the bosses though, but all 24 racers in the game. Using jamesster's great LDD boss racer designs he uploaded, as well as my own LDD opponent car designs, I have collected the first 12 of the 24 racers in the game - all character's for circuits 1, 2, 4, and 5. I'm very proud of them, and in my excitement thought I'd share them with you First, here are pictures of them all together: More detail on the Circuit 1/4 cars: Captain Redbeard I think Captain Redbeard is pretty epic, although unfortunately due to his peg leg he doesn't sit down very well. Ann Droid This guy has the black car that several opponents share, but is still quite fun. Governor Broadside A bright character, at some point I'll replace the back flag with a 2x2 plate and a printed decal to be more like the game's one. Pharaoh Mummy I think this guy is pretty cool too, his car just seems to work nicely. Robin Hood Ah, Robin Hood, one of my favourites from the game. As his centre sloping section isn't available in green, I had to do some DIY. At first I tried dyeing it like Jamesster suggested, but unfortunately melted the bricks and the dye barely started to work - instead of trying again I figured I wouldn't waste money when the colour was darker than I wanted anyway. So I painted the parts, choosing to do all the green ones for consistency. The flash makes the brush strokes more obvious... And also the minifigure arrived with a split leg and scratches on its back, despite being described as 'good condition', but I guess that's to be expected from Bricklink every now and then. Johnny Thunder And finally, Johnny Thunder, another of my favourites. I think the game designers did well to make his car look so cool. More detail on the Circuit 2/5 cars: King Kahuka Ook-ah-ook-ook. Ook-ah-ah-ook-ah, ah-ook-ook-ah-ook. Ah-ook-ah-ook-ook-ah-ook. Achu Grrr, a chipped face (not visible here)! Well, his car is still cool. That green clip at the back, which King Kahuka also has, is only available in two sets so had to be shipped over from two different sellers in Canada and the USA, these racers are a mixture of USA, UK and Canadian blood Commander Cold Brrr, this guy's so cool. Islander Another of the black car owner's, but still epic. I kind of want to hug him. Wait, I'll be right back. Okay, next up... Royal Knight All hail the king! This guy defends royalty with a rather interesting blend of blue and red. Baron Von Baron He probably has one of the (if not the) biggest cars, suiting his villainous personality. I wonder what that replacement wheel at the back is for, it's a little too small I also have designed some dioramas to display them on, which fit nicely into my cabinets. Credit to jamesster again for the boss models: Circuit 1 Diorama The space at the back will have a tent in it, and the palm trees obviously leaves on top, I've just never owned one so don't know how they fit on Also the models won't be supported by those stands, it's just for LDD to hold them in place. I was looking for a way to have bricks floating, and this seemed the best to me, but if anyone has any suggestions involving transparent bricks I'd be happy to hear them! Additionally, the bricks will be from the original desert Johnny Thunder sets where possible (e.g. the printed tower things). Circuit 2 Diorama This one isn't as dynamic, but I wasn't sure how to make it so. The castle walls will have the brick textures. So, what do you think?1 point -

Lego Rock Raiders HQ [MOC] 7000 parts!
Lair reacted to -DoNe- for a topic
After 2 months of building I where able to finish this giant! I don't even know where to start, it have taken so long and it have been so fun to watch it grow over the weeks (but I have to admit it got a little boring to build some of the rock sections). At some points I had my doubts that I would be able to finish it of due to how massive it was and when I constantly realized that I had to make it bigger too fit this and that but in the end it was worth it! The finished models weights in at 7,7kg (around 20 pounds/16lbs and have something between 7000-8000 parts! Sorry for the bad picture btw! by =DoNe=, on Flickr by =DoNe=, on Flickr by =DoNe=, on Flickr1 point -

Hey there, folks! I found this site while looking for some info on modding the old Lego games. Racers 1, Creator, and LOCO in particular. It's nice to see that people are still dedicated to crack open these old Lego games! I'm currently having trouble getting Lego Creator to work on my 64-bit Windows 7 machine. It refuses to work even after I set it to Windows 98 compatability mode, but once I get it working, I'll post stuff that I built in that game (Creator models from a dead XP machine. I backed up my Creator files on USB though). Lego Creator needs more love. Also I'm posting to see if my avatar looks okay.1 point -

I don't suppose you would happen to know anything about that Space Mystery game that no longer works? Sorry, I don't remember that. My only other Lego.com memories were Lego Backlot and signing up on the Lego messageboards as Stinkoman_k. I remember the email I used to sign up with, too, but Lego.com claims that Stinkoman_k and my old email doesn't exist. But it DOES! I'm right here. Ah, the message boards... You're not missing a whole lot. You might get a kick out of this, it's four and a half gigabytes of LEGO.com games, including offline versions of Backlot, Worldbuilder, Junkbot, etc: http://biomediaproject.com/bmp/lmp/games/1 point -
Lego Creator and Windows 7 64-bit

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and it works for me perfectly without any compatibility setting changes. The graphics do get a bit buggy in hardware mode though, but it works fine in software mode (the same applies to the Knights Kingdom sequel as well).1 point -

WTF is this bullcrap?
Wirza reacted to Drill Master for a blog entry
I bought the Angry Birds Star Wars pc game just for the helluvit, didn't even scratch my wallet getting it. Not too impressed by the resemblence between them. As far as all the AB crap out not, it's just another company over working to get on top. K'NEX can go jump in a hole and die as far as I'm concerned. They started out as a good franchise, making a more modern "Tinker Toy" themed building toy. I actually own a few of the early sets like the ferris wheel (not the remake) and will occasionally mess around with them. They lost my vote after they added brick pieces. That crossed the line. K'NEX couldn't handle the fact that kids liked LEGO and building with little bricks that are 100% interchangable, so they found the perfect way to ruin their product by taking a brick and drilling a hole in it big enough for a K'NEX stick to fit through it. I will give you props with MEGA BLOKS. They have gone too far in the wrong direction with their themes. As you may know, I collect the Halo themed MB, just so I have a collection hobby that works for me. Other than the Halo theme, the best theme MB had was their old Pro Builder sets. I liked those, and so did my grandpa. The reason the Pro Builder sets were good was because they paid great attention to detail to their irl models. We gave my grandpa the Aircraft Carrier and the detail was spot on. I must say the lack of good themes is really dragging down not only MEGA BLOKS, but LEGO as well. Their themes seem to be a bit lacking than what they used to. Also the fact that my local stores have stopped selling Technic sets on the shelves, the only sets left I really have interest for, is really outrageous. All in all, the lack of ideas for kids toys is beginning to become really noticable. My theory? All these companies tell workers to write down the dumbest idea they can think of, put them in a hat, and draw from said hat at the beginning of each week for their next product.1 point -

What Vehicle In Rock Raiders Do You Think Is The Most Useless
aidenpons reacted to Nishliau for a topic
The LMS Explorer. Thing gets sucked up into wormholes, and gets hit by meteors and crap. Very unreliable. How ever it is very large and can travel through space. That's what kept it in the game I guess. Hover Scout can't do crap though.1 point
