Review: Review: #4569 Warrior Review by origamiguy Photo Review So I read Review: Review: #4569 Warrior online. It comes with a tongue-in-cheek and humorous review. I'd like the photo a lot, but I have to say, the lack of anti-aliasing on the text leaves my eyes feeling violated! The review is good for kids who are young, as it is only 3 lines, akin to the review it's reviewing! The review is well thought out, and copies the poor writing style of the prior review for comedic effect. The review is like a good skirt; long enough to cover the material, but short enough to keep it interesting. Rating Design: 9 / 10 (1 mark dropped because it doesn't fit on my screen fully)Quality: 100 / 10 Fun: 1000 / 11 (this one goes up to 11.) Price: 10000 / 10 Is it a read it, or a skip it? I would go with read it for anyone who enjoys meta humour, but if you are not a person who likes fun, then it would be a skip it! Total rating: 9.5 (out of 11)4 points -

Review: #4569 Warrior Review by jamesster Photo Review So I read Review: #4569 Warrior online. It comes with an empty-looking review. I'd like the photo a lot, but I have to say, why is there no photo! The review is good for kids who are young, as it is only 3 lines! Also, the writing of the review isn't that good, as it doesn't read that good. But, reading these reviews goes pretty fast! LR scene modding

Afternoon everyone, after a bit of a break, I'm getting back into the Racers stuff. Hold onto your glitchy pirate hats, people. Apologies for the slighlty delayed reply, but yeah, I had the same issue with the collision - you drive through the walls a bit before you hit the boundary. I'll have a look into the collision stuff at some point. But for now I'm going back to the cutscenes. Here's a screenshot: It's just a modded version of the Veronica Voltage cutscene. The background is actually the test track now though, instead of the simplified model usually used in the cutscene. Obviously there's still some issues - the sky, for one, and the window and flag models are floating around in the air, but it was just an experiment. It should be pretty simple to use any track as the background for a cutscene. In fact, I reckon completely custom cutscenes shouldn't be too much of a stretch. I'll try to start updating this thread again :P4 points -
Intro Cutscene Mod - Paradise City
aidenpons and one other reacted to Jimbob for a topic
This is a modification I made to demonstrate many of the things you can do with cutscenes, as covered in my >Custom Cutscenes tutorial. It changes the 'intro' to LEGO Racers 2, where you first speak to Sparky on Sandy Bay and learn the controls, replacing it with an intro to the island in a movie-style with various camera techniques (and a suitable background song to go with it). You can check out the mod in the video below: http://youtu.be/sVz6zpMtErA Credits: - A huge thanks to le717 for recording this mod for me! - le717 combined the mod with 's >Hudless Arrowless mod, so thank you Segatendo for that - The song that is played is Paradise City by Guns N' Roses. Because this mod contains a song, uploading it would be a breach of copyright. However, other than the song, there is only one file that is modified so I'll post it below. The script below is INTRO1.TXT, which you can find in GAME DATA/SCRIPTS/SANDY ISLAND. I have commented it to some extent to give you an idea of what is going on in each section. The majority of this cutscene didn't actually take that long to produce, the only part that took hours (literally) was the small section with the Sandy Bay racers having a conversation. I tried putting them in various places around the island and doing different things, but it turned out these characters (and them alone, I'm pretty sure) are really buggy to work with as they are both found around the island and conversed with before/after races. If you can avoid using them, I would, hence why that particular section wasn't as good as the rest.2 points -

For some reason I can't help but feel my favorite part of the Time Cruisers comic in this issue is just how a black snake is incorporated as the antagonist. It's a great example of how closely the comics are sticking to what is in the actual sets - the only 'villains' in the Native American-themed Wild West sets were black snakes, so a black snake is the villain in the comic. The misunderstanding at the end allows for a more interesting danger to Tim without going outside the boundaries of what LEGO produced for purchase. Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 42 points -

I hope someone will remake every cutscene that the developers didn't make well, in a kinda epic way like you did in this mod! I would be really pleased to see that.1 point -

All cutscenes in Lego Racers 2 mods should be like this from now on. Well done. Have a gold brick. Challenge for the future: recreate the Lego Island intro movie using LR2 elements as best you can.1 point -

Yes, exactly. There's a lot of stuff like that in this game, and seeing this cutscene actually happen is awesome. How much can you do with cutscenes? Can you add one that wasn't there before? Also, some races have dialogue from Sparky before them. Are these defined under cutscene files, or something different? If so, I am interested in making a mod that adds a "preview track" cutscene before each race.1 point -
Construction of buildings impossible after some time
rockme124 reacted to Cirevam for a topic
We have a term for what you are experiencing: Idleness Syndrome. Rock Raiders will tend to ignore orders after you play for a long time or drill the entire level. Some of us think this happens because raiders check every single tile in the level when checking for crystals and other things to pick up. Eventually, they check so many tiles that they get confused and can't do anything. You might be able to change a few things that can help prevent this from happening so soon. If your game is prepared for modding, open the Lego.cfg file and look for "TextureUsage" near the top. Change the value from 31457280 to something larger. Since you are using an EeePC, you might change it to 61457280. This allocates nearly twice as much memory for the game to use. The other thing you can do is change your play style. Instead of strip-mining everything in the level, collect as much ore as you can before drilling into new caverns. This will allow you to create buildings more quickly, which means idleness syndrome will not be a big problem.1 point -

Do you use small transport trucks? The trucks have a tendency to drop too much ore on the building site, and the building will not appear if there is too much ore. Try removing some ore.1 point -
