  1. McJobless

    Kingdom Come

Prologue Every day is a new adventure. Every breath we take could potentially send us right into the void of space and time, to a realm far beyond human understands where all has happened becomes irrelevant, and all that will happen has no meaning. In a single millisecond, so many variables change that we are the sum of billions of calculations a minute, riding a giant rock flying through the vast and dark coldness of space. And yet, to be human is to forget yourself in the moment, and focus on only what's important. What a great thing none of us are human. Chapter One - The Cycle RRU Corp. A giant civilisation under the guise of a "business" within its own state of Australia. Leading provider of data solutions. Antique collecting and restorations. Loony bin for the criminally insane. Having the great privilege of working there is like being handed the keys to a zoo, only too find out that you're working with a pack of monkeys; insanity breeds. Thankfully, insanity is one of the great commodities traded within RRU Corp, among other meaningless properties. Labels have no meaning when everything starts burning. My name is McJobless, and most of those fires are caused by me. Recently promoted to Editor, and renown for being the main generator for RRU's second most precious resource; flames. I dish it out hard and fast. It's the only way to survive amongst the constant rage of RRU's giant wheels that are the rest of the community. Of course, some might disagree, but we can cover them later. Every day starts the same way; the new kids on the block run one step in the wrong direction, and the flood of alarm bells ring. Waking up is a slow, annoying process, especially considering how heavily wasted I usually get every night. Sometimes it's the only way to get past every horrible action that goes on in the seedy underbelly. My room is nothing particularly fancy; a simple desk setup with a bed nearby, some drawings on the wall and computer parts scattered everywhere. It's not uncommon to find the occasional missing LEGO brick right where you least want it; under your foot. Organisation and cleanliness are the least of my concerns, though, and especially after clearing away the entire hanger that used to occupy my floor, things have become increasingly more simple and slow-going; a side-effect of maturation, no doubt. Entering the elevator, one can always be greeted with a few "friendly" greetings from other employees; if Joe decides to wake up, he's usually touchy-feely, to the detriment of Zeph. Antillies sits in the back, waiting for somebody to mess up before he slams them with a bout of logic and common sense, something lacking in the RRU commodity pool. Jamesster tends to be fairly useless, having spent most of the night before devoting his little sanity left into producing a parody that will rip the world apart. Alcom is Alcom. Other members sometimes come and go, but the classics seem to stand far above the crowd, none moreso than Cirevam the Omnipotent; likely due to some ancient ritual he performed after being ordained by the now-retired Cyrem. We ride that single elevator down to Level 2, the main working level. The atmosphere in this level is mostly oxygen, but occasionally somebody'll pump something a little more potent into the mix, just to see the results. The space itself is fairly open, with each person regularly swapping desks in favour of one day finding the "perfect spot". Considering that the RRU building is more like Howl's Moving Castle than a stationary thing built to purpose, it's unlikely one would ever keep such a spot for longer than the time it took to claim they found it. We all get on with out work, which mostly consists of file research, posting, moderation and so on. A pretty relaxed day of work, if you're not me. Of course, by this time, eyes are all staring at me; the regular members are ready to see the most exciting thing that'll happen all day, the moderators are standing-by with hammers and first-aid kits in case the fire rises, and Cirevam sits in shadow, deciding on what side-burn wax would suit him best. Frankly, he's got better things to do than deal with petty online arguments. Justice is swift, and a flood of animated images tends to shut the new kids up fast. They work on Level 1 for protection, away from the majority of the other members who openly celebrate every tiny victory over the League of Mind-Numbing-Failures. Most of them don't survive long; the shock of being hit by a wall of fire tends to send most of them away. Some braves souls fight back, but it doesn't last long. Needless to say, I've done this for a long time. The mornings pass quickly after that. Inactivity is regularity. Most of the day's work is done within the first few hours, and the rest are spent partying or organising raid parties on places such as LNA. It's easy to pick on those who make themselves targets. The hours pass by. Addict pops in with his Linux-for-Life speeches, and others listen in trance, wondering what would be good for lunch. It's not uncommon for science discussions to rage, alongside just about any other topic; just be careful on what you say, though. There's many a sore point between members, such as telling Antilles about why Breaking Bad is better than Game of Thrones, or telling Le that he sounds exactly like Spongebob, to the point where one might actually think he is the voice actor. Eventually, many head back up to their levels and sleep. Some are in the barracks, others have purchased real estate. It's not much, but it's home, and with an interest rate of 1000%+ (courtesy of the Imperial Bank), you better damn well like it. The rent is expensive, but it's better than being lost in an eternal loop of pitch-black space. Most days run like this; a cosmic cycle that never breaks, except when things go to their absolute worse. Unfortunately, that happens quite regularly, and the moderators have a code for it. "Drama." Little did I know that the next day, I would be dragged right into the bloody middle of it. Welcome to RRU.

    Lego Time Cruisers comics

Just read of few your translations, Tazakk. Seems pretty accurate so far but you made one little mistake: 'Schwarzer Adlers Stamm' was not meant to be 'The Black Eagle Tribe' but the 'Tribe of Chief Black Eagle' instead. I'm sure the Timecruisers comic will make that more clear. Btw the character was called 'Chief Rattle Snake' in the UK catalogue. Issue 5 is uploaded, sorry for the delay: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

    LEGO Digital Designer LIF Extractor

Game Extractor has had the ability to extract LEGO Digital Designer LIF files for a while, but since Game Extractor isn't very stable, I wrote my own LIF extractor in Python. The download contains the Python source file for use with a python interpreter, as well as Windows 32 bit and Windows 64 bit executables. Download LIF Extractor GitHub For those of you who will probably ignore the Readme.txt file entirely, here's the information on it: You accept full responsibility for how you use this program. This program is released under GNU GPLv3. LIF Extractor is a command line utility for extracting the LIF files found in LEGO Digital Designer. It will extract all files contained inside the LIF archives, into folders adjacent to the archive it was called on. The LIFExtractor.py file requires a python installation to run. The executables found in the folders have no dependencies. Choose the proper folder for your operating system. The Python script has been tested to work on Python versions 2.7 through 3.2. To extract LIF files, pass the path to the LIF files as command line arguments to the program. On Windows, this can be done by dragging and dropping the LIF files onto the LIFExtractor.exe icon in the explorer window. This program was created to allow for interoperability with the LEGO Digital Designer formats. In order to properly read the LEGO Digital Designer formats, it is necessary to access the data contained with the LIF file archives.

    Canceled LEGO Racers... 4?

Found this while looking up LR2/Drome Racers devs... http://www.simon.mooli.org.uk/AF/article/commercial.html More info on Ion Runner down at the bottom of the linked page. Also, I've never seen the Xbox version of Drome Racers in the wild... It's either really rare or actually never got released for some reason or another. I've only seen box art. I'm gonna try to contact this guy and see if he has any more info.

    LEGO Racers Recreations

UPDATE: If you'd like to build these models yourself, check out the part lists and instructions I've made here. LEGO Racers Recreations The characters in Lego Racers are so great, that after seeing many pictures of people's recreations of them, I decided I had to have my own. Not just the bosses though, but all 24 racers in the game. Using jamesster's great LDD boss racer designs he uploaded, as well as my own LDD opponent car designs, I have collected the first 12 of the 24 racers in the game - all character's for circuits 1, 2, 4, and 5. I'm very proud of them, and in my excitement thought I'd share them with you First, here are pictures of them all together: More detail on the Circuit 1/4 cars: Captain Redbeard I think Captain Redbeard is pretty epic, although unfortunately due to his peg leg he doesn't sit down very well. Ann Droid This guy has the black car that several opponents share, but is still quite fun. Governor Broadside A bright character, at some point I'll replace the back flag with a 2x2 plate and a printed decal to be more like the game's one. Pharaoh Mummy I think this guy is pretty cool too, his car just seems to work nicely. Robin Hood Ah, Robin Hood, one of my favourites from the game. As his centre sloping section isn't available in green, I had to do some DIY. At first I tried dyeing it like Jamesster suggested, but unfortunately melted the bricks and the dye barely started to work - instead of trying again I figured I wouldn't waste money when the colour was darker than I wanted anyway. So I painted the parts, choosing to do all the green ones for consistency. The flash makes the brush strokes more obvious... And also the minifigure arrived with a split leg and scratches on its back, despite being described as 'good condition', but I guess that's to be expected from Bricklink every now and then. Johnny Thunder And finally, Johnny Thunder, another of my favourites. I think the game designers did well to make his car look so cool. More detail on the Circuit 2/5 cars: King Kahuka Ook-ah-ook-ook. Ook-ah-ah-ook-ah, ah-ook-ook-ah-ook. Ah-ook-ah-ook-ook-ah-ook. Achu Grrr, a chipped face (not visible here)! Well, his car is still cool. That green clip at the back, which King Kahuka also has, is only available in two sets so had to be shipped over from two different sellers in Canada and the USA, these racers are a mixture of USA, UK and Canadian blood Commander Cold Brrr, this guy's so cool. Islander Another of the black car owner's, but still epic. I kind of want to hug him. Wait, I'll be right back. Okay, next up... Royal Knight All hail the king! This guy defends royalty with a rather interesting blend of blue and red. Baron Von Baron He probably has one of the (if not the) biggest cars, suiting his villainous personality. I wonder what that replacement wheel at the back is for, it's a little too small I also have designed some dioramas to display them on, which fit nicely into my cabinets. Credit to jamesster again for the boss models: Circuit 1 Diorama The space at the back will have a tent in it, and the palm trees obviously leaves on top, I've just never owned one so don't know how they fit on Also the models won't be supported by those stands, it's just for LDD to hold them in place. I was looking for a way to have bricks floating, and this seemed the best to me, but if anyone has any suggestions involving transparent bricks I'd be happy to hear them! Additionally, the bricks will be from the original desert Johnny Thunder sets where possible (e.g. the printed tower things). Circuit 2 Diorama This one isn't as dynamic, but I wasn't sure how to make it so. The castle walls will have the brick textures. So, what do you think?

The CGI dragon was also part of a TV commercial that was solely based on Fright Knights and that aired around christmas '97. A few of the images on pages 2-3 are screencaps of this commercial.

    My Lego Racers Car Collection

YES Why did you do this? The quaver symbol. WHY? I've never fitted muskets on a car... You did well to fit them on. What've ice-cubes got to do with anything? They'd rust the nails! Battle Kahuka is probably your best Kahuka car yet. The story... isn't too bad, and it follows on nicely from the earlier Fright Kahuka. Call me completely bonkers if you like, but I think that was actually very good. The best, I am tempted to say. It just captures the spirit and is something new here. It's really good. Funny how you don't see any non-chassis black on the Whiz Kid. I eagerly await progress.

    Minecraft Screenshots

Yesterday, three bold adventurers set out on a quest. A quest to locate one of the three strongholds located in this vast, pixelated land. A quest for treasure; a quest to slay all the beasts within. A quest to locate the portal to... THE END. The brave warriors who embarked on this journey are as follows: Arthuriel, from the deserts to the South, known for his loyalty and courage. Fushigisaur, a fearless warrior who has conquered death dozens of times over. JimbobJeffers, a miner with adequate skill all-around (but master of nothing). Below are artist depictions of the events that occurred during this most arduous of adventures.

    RRU Quotes 2: Reckoning

I sense a fight coming... Bring it on! I'm a dragon so I'll just eat all of you. Now, now. Let's slow down and perform some logical analysis before we jump to conclusions. Santa Claus is a fantasy character with magical powers who works with elves. Fantasy characters with magical powers who work with elves typically appear in fairy tales. Fairy types are super effective against dragon types. By my calculations, Santa Claus is a dragon slayer.

    LEGO Racers Recreations

I haven't got any more photos of new racers/dioramas yet, but I thought I'd share this little gallery I made of circuit 1/4's racers. Basically, I wouldn't have built any of these models (let alone got back into LEGO Racers) if it wasn't for RRU, so I really want to be able to share them with you all as best as I can. Like the 360-degree rotations I made of my other two recent MOCs, I have taken a bunch of pictures of each model and turned it into a 360-degree gallery. The amount of pictures I took of each one varied as I started off taking loads with Captain Redbeard and gradually got more and more impatient Unfortunately, Ann Droid's photos got a little messed up in the processing so aren't great. Anyway, view the 360 degree rotation online here! (Or in the OP). System Requirements: 1024x768 screen resolution minimum (if this is your screen resolution, set your browser to full-screen) Adobe Flash Player 11.2 or higher (should be automatically updated in Chrome) You may need to wait for the images to download depending on your connection, if the screen is blank on a model's gallery then wait for a minute Click on an image to select its model, rotate the model with the left and right arrow keys, and click the yellow back arrow to return to the main menu. Enjoy! Oh, also, I scratch built myself a mini photo studio which I used to take these photos. I stupidly forgot to take a picture but will do a.s.a.p.

    [MOC] Orange-Man's Laser Car

Orange-Man is a supervillian who was born with a rare defect causing him to look like a freaking monster. Abandoned in a sewer, he was raised by hyper-intelligent cockroaches who taught him how to build top-notch vehicles and trained him to be a rodent ninja master. He arose from the sewers to take revenge on the world. Because Superheroes/villains have to make sense.

    LEGO Racers Recreations

Update time! I've finally built all the circuit 3/6 cars, and am pretty excited Just six racers left to go. Check out pictures of the individual racers in the spoiler below. Complete with TNT mounted on the back. Unfortunately the back side-dot bricks which hold the TNT aren't available in old dark grey. Black Jack Hawkins The red and blue colours work nicely, I think. Plus he has a cool parrot. Willa the Witch Another generic black car is used here, but oh well. Willa's black skirt was swapped for the legs she has in-game. I love her toothless smile Alpha Dragonis Alpha Dragonis' decals are so epic. To tell the truth, I didn't know his head was trans-orange until I bought the figure... Basil the Batlord Haw haw haw... Basil's such a legend. He and his car... so mean-looking. Gypsy Moth I'd say this is the biggest car of the lot. Rocket Racer and Veronica Voltage aside, Gypsy Moth is definitely the don. I took a couple of group shots too. Oh, last thing... I hope the photos are an improvement on recent ones, I got a new 'studio'

    Spore

Hey, it's cool to see that many of you also play Spore. The idea of Spore was really awesome! It could have made lots of bucks for EA and lots of fans if they only hadn't given up. They should have continued patching the game and listen to the players improvement suggestions so that the game would have remained active. I loved Spore and I still love it (my Spore name is alanw by the way if you'd like to contact me there). It was a game so fascinating than no one else and I only stopped playing it because the community of Spore has exploded and is now reigned by downraters. GA (Galactic Adventures) was also a great expansion and made a lot of things possible and they had to continue that way. Unfortunately, they haven't. If you're still interested in Spore please have a look at my adventures and creations and please contact me there.

    Spore

Spore was cool when it was first released, but it's not very fun once you get the Staff of Life. The Galactic Adventures expansion pack was alright and extended it a little. Idk if they intend to make Spore 2 though, I don't think Will was happy with EA by the end of it.
