Oh, spam messages...
apemax and one other reacted to le717 for a blog entry
Spam (sometimes known as junk) email, comments, tweets, posts, messages, phone calls, text messages, SMS messages, mail, they are a universal annoyance. From the janitor at your school to a high-seated official, everybody gets and hates spammy junk messages. Further more, with ever-increasing computer power and the rise of programming being taught practically every where you turn, more spam bots thus more spam messages will continue to be sent in all forms of media. Spam also comes in many varities, from bait-and-switch, phishing, pharming, and money scams, to name a few. The messages, if you dare view them, range from absolutely obvious to just real enough to fool automated spam catchers to almost (and for victims of the scams, completely) believable messages. Then there are another type: funny. These would appear to be messages generated by bots (that is, they create and connect words to make sentences). However, bots can never accurately imitate the English language and human typing. The end result? Some laughable, cringe-worthy, sometimes incomprehensible messages you have no choice but to read and laugh at. Wednesday night (March 12), around 9 PM, I got an email from WordPress asking me to approve a pending comment. Upon inspecting the message, I found it to be one of these funny spam messages. Because I found it so funny (I laughed more than I should, probably from how tired I was ), I have reposted the message below for you to read and laugh it. Have fun laughing! -le7172 points -
Motivational Movie Music
Drill Master and one other reacted to Jimbob for a topic
I've always thought it important what music we listen to, with regards to whether it's positive or negative. Music can build you up and knock you down, so I try to stick to constructive stuff, as I know that negative songs can make me feel low for the rest of the day if I'm not careful. Similarly, motivational music can really boost me up. So, with that in mind, here's a topic dedicated to epic movie scores that will build you up when you're feeling low, need motivation, want to feel epic, etc. I've created a playlist of my favourite songs that I think succeed at this, with my reasoning for each. Enjoy! Oh, if you'd rather skip all this waffle and listen to the full playlist, the link's below. I've chosen HD videos too where I could find them. Epic Movie Themes 01. Hombre Religioso (Religious Man) | Nacho Libre | Mister Loco 02. Scorponok | Transformers | Steve Jablonsky 03. "Why Do We Fall?" | The Dark Knight Rises | Hans Zimmer 04. He's a Pirate | Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl | Klaus Badelt & Hans Zimmer 05. Flight | Man of Steel | Hans Zimmer 06. Misty Mountains | The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey | David Donaldson, David Long, Steve Roche and Janet Roddick (Performed by Richard Armitage and The Dwarf Cast) 07. The Uruk-hai | The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers | Howard Shore 08. Dream is Collapsing | Inception | Hans Zimmer 09. Time | Inception | Hans Zimmer 10. What Are You Going to Do When You Are Not Saving the World? | Man of Steel | Hans Zimmer So, there we have it. I hope you enjoyed the music! Fancy sharing some of your own inspirational music? Feel free to post it here, but please stick to movie scores (and TV as well, I suppose) that are really motivational. Otherwise this'd probably get rather overloaded2 points -
LEGO Universe Playthrough
Ayliffe reacted to lol username for a topic
I spent too much of my life on this freaking game. A game specifically designed to keep me playing and interested while simultaneously cringing at its fundamental design, to make me love its developers for being awesome people who put their hearts into it while also making me wonder just what the hell they were thinking when they created it. Ladies and mentlegen, I give you LEGO Universe. Playlist Part 1 Part 100, end of the main Sentinel playthrough Part 101, Paradox exclusive missions Part 102, Venture League exclusive missions Part 103, Assembly exclusive missions During the last three months of this game's determined but confused existence, I recorded as complete of a playthrough of it as I could. Seeing as the game was designed to sap up as much of a kid's time as possible, that meant 39 hours (perhaps closer to 40 counting stuff I cut out or sped up) of recording just to complete every mission (including the missions exclusive to certain factions) and collect every collectible. In the end, I got all of the core content recorded, but if I had actually been playing the game for the sake of playing it, then I would have been only beginning... With many, many more clothing and weapons and armor sets to complete, and what was for all practical purposes an endless barrel of achievements that required smashing what was likely a grand total of hundreds of thousands of enemies to complete (side note: if somebody could actually figure out exactly how many enemies one would have to smash to 100% complete LU, I will laugh and hug you as a fellow nutcase should). After a bit of a break, I will be uploading another series of videos about LEGO Universe, recorded around the same time as this playthrough: Tours of all the worlds, showing both how players normally saw them on foot, and broader overviews from the sky via jetpack. The point of this second video series will be twofold: First, to show how easily the illusions used by the level designers used break when viewed at the wrong angle. Second, to show how amazingly little time it takes to simply explore them, thus accentuating the fact that this game dragged a few hours of world exploration (at most) into solid days of running back and forth as a little yellow plastic FedEx wannabe/zombie slayer. Enjoy. Except I seriously don't expect anybody to actually watch the whole thing. LEGO Minifigures Online, coming later this year! Oh dear wad.1 point -

My computerfast begins
Quisoves Potoo reacted to Ben24x7 for a blog entry
Right, first off 'ComputerFast' is NOT a word if you are wondering. Second I decided to not do this as a Profile Feed because it would be too long. And three... Urm.... I'll just explain... Starting tomorrow (Friday 14th March 2014) I will not be attending my computer. Lately I have been having troubles in school (not to do with bullying) and my only guess is because of how much time I spend on my computer. This 'Abandoning computer thing' will last until I give up, so if you are going to ask me a question, send me a PM or whatnot then don't expect a reply immediately. I will make a Profile Feed for when I come back. Hopefully this'll give you some 'Ben24x7less' time to spend. Cheerio. --Ben24x7--1 point -

Auditions and Textures wanted (NOT an ad, I really mean it)
Quisoves Potoo reacted to LimeKiller for a topic
I'm not entirely clear what this is. Is it an animation you will be making? In this last post, it sounds like you want to make a game. Either way, we'd like to see something being made here before we commit to helping. Is there a reason you "gave up" on the prototype? That's not exactly a good sign for the rest of the project. Also, LEGO Island was not the last game by Mindscape.1 point -
