Brock Raiders
phenix8fr and 5 others reacted to Fush for a topic
Make your Raiders look like Brock. Sorry, I had to. Download (Alt) To install just merge the 'Data' folder with the one in the LRR directory. You need to extract your WADS first as with any mod. Not guaranteed to work with other mods. If this breaks your game please return it for a full refund. I have no idea what I am doing.6 points -

LEGO Universe News! Minifig Wizard
Quisoves Potoo and one other reacted to le717 for a topic
I've just deployed the first update to the Minifig Wizard. This release (to my disappointment), is a code-only release. No images were prepared for it. I was hoping there would be, as your suggestions are ones that should be implemented (the list is short right now only because I foolishly did not log the requests as they came in), but I am in charge of the code, not the images. Anywho, what is different in this release? A full, technical list can be found here, but I have prepared a less-technical version. (NEW! denotes changes made after this post was initially made). The pink spaceman was annihilated by an evil Blacktron! NEW! Removed Samurai Armor (it is not working well with the current state) NEW! Fixed an overlay issue with left hand items and the mermaid tail NEW! Fixed color of Dr. Cyber's beard NEW! Added Sufer torso from Minifigure Series 2 NEW! Added dark blue pants NEW! Fixed Top Hat and brown male hair being swapped NEW! Added brown male hair (per request by Ayliffe and Xiron) NEW! Resorted hair items All jQuery animations were rewritten as CSS transitions for supported browsers, making layout resizing much smoother and more responsive. The jQuery animations are still present but are used only on older browsers as a fallback. In addition, new jQuery animation fallbacks were added for effects that only had a CSS transition, such as the resize button and settings panel in the popout window. Better browser support detection by way of a custom build of Modernizr. Plenty of code was cleaned up and improved for more efficient execution NEW! Added missing -webkit-transition properties (for better mobile browser usage) Many fixes for Internet Explorer 9 were preformed: The new window did not open at all due to IE9′s poor and finicky support for window.open() Settings panel did not have a background color Other small rendering and usability issues. By themselves they mean nothing, but all together they do a lot. I actually pushed four consecutive commits fixing IE9 issues, and is the primary reason I added new jQuery animations. UI tweaks and fixes, including but not limited to: Fixed the orange part selection disappearing when layout was resized Better visibility of the current background color in the popup window Background color options in popup window are better sorted Thumbnail images on the normal layout size have been enlarged to their native size, matching the size on the enlarged layout and making them easier to tap on mobile devices If you come across any bugs, please report them! I am already aware of the male black hair and top hat switching places and the mermaid tail overlaying the left hard (as seen in QP's picture above), so you do not have to report those. Already fixed! Tell me what they are, and I will look into getting them added. Sure thing. That falls under the "more generic images" header. Is that from the limited parts selection or the way they are ordered? Yes, I know I am bumping, (EDIT: wait, duplicate post are auto-merged now? ) but I wanted to post this. It seems my deploying the code was enough to get rioforce on the ball and add some images for you guys! It is still a long way from the number of images we should have, but hopefully there will be more next go-round and these will help tide your over. I've updated the post with the changes, but I will repost them here. Removed Samurai Armor (it is not working well with the current Wizard state. It may be restored later.) Fixed an overlay issue with left hand items and the mermaid tail Fixed color of Dr. Cyber's beard Added Sufer torso from Minifigure Series 2 Added dark blue pants Fixed Top Hat and brown male hair being swapped Added brown male hair (per request by Ayliffe and Xiron) Resorted hair items2 points -

Bad Translations
Quisoves Potoo reacted to Jimbob for a topic
I stumbled across a website called the 'Bad Translator', which allows you to input text and have it translated several times over in various online translators such as Bing. It generally ends up getting some pretty bizarre results (hint: the longer the text and translation number, the better), some of which can be rather funny, so as Drill Master suggested I thought I'd make a topic for people to share their translations on. The website is very easy to use and can be found here: Bad Translator. Simply translate a piece of text and copy and paste the result in the pop-up into a post here. Example: Original text: 'If you select the red brick, you go. If you select the green brick, you stay.' Translates to: 'Glass and red. If you select the stones next to the hotel.' Some translations Arthuriel, Biorune, Drill Master and I have done already:1 point -
What Bugs Me Most About Mass Effect...
The Ace Railgun reacted to McJobless for a blog entry
We have technology in the modern day called "Video Cameras". Most of our mobile and desktop technology now comes bundles with some form of "web camera", we have VR sensors like the Kinect and LeapMotion. Many vehicles, including trucks, buses and police cars have cameras installed to record incidents that might occur on the road. Many places in public we visit also use Video Cameras to record for security purposes. Most importantly, a significant number of people doing incredible physical activities, from snowboarders to surfers to Police/SWAT officers to Military Personnel all use Video Camera technology (such as the GoPro) to record the things they do from their own perspective. A hundred and eighty years in the future, why the f**** aren't military personnel on extremely important missions in dangerous territory given any kind of camera to record what happens to them? We know that other sci-fi games like Halo have this tech. We know that recording hardware exists in Mass Effect, since it's used consistently throughout the series. We know that a lot of the headwear Shepard and Co use can be fitted with all kinds of crazy and awesome tools. If Shepard had just recorded his incident with the Prothean Beacon and his conversation with Sovereign, the council (even "Reapers" Turian) would have HAD to agree about the existence of Reapers, and as such the galaxy could have probably prepared a lot earlier. Now, granted, it probably wouldn't have done *that* much in the long run, but at least we'd be all feeling a little less annoyed by the Council.1 point -
Shadowblaze's Music Central

And here's another music! Tropicà l This music was inspired by tropical music and stuff. There also are vocals, which is amazing. The vocals actually aren't original, but they're taken from a couple seconds of another song, and then chopped and rearranged and modulated, a lot of stuff. http://youtu.be/5eALNNtpQnc Listen on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/c24dubstep/tropical Edit: BEHOLD THE FROZEN LOADING ICON (in the bottom left corner) *Bump* Whoa, lately I've been posting a lot of videos. Wizard's Tower Here's a short orchestral/chiptune/dubstep loop I made which I am very proud of, because this is the first music I made that has a key change. I had another image here on RRU, but I forgot to put it officially in a post. Here's what I think is Riegel. And today, kids, we learned to not mix RUN_LOOP animations with SUPERRUN_LOOP. If it wasn't clear enough, it is floating and it's not moving. It's stuck there. If you want to get the same result replace BLUE MECH/SUPERRUN_LOOP.BSA with BEIGE BEST/RUN_LOOP.BSA. A lot of fun, messing with animations is.1 point -
What Bugs Me Most About Mass Effect...
Quisoves Potoo reacted to Seaborgium for a blog entry
Perhaps military personal have some sort of technology that prevents them from being recorded. It might seem odd, but such technology would be extremely important; no one would want those tapes falling into enemy hands. Either that, or, because as you mentioned, there are lots of security cameras nowadays, in the the not so far future, a state that watches every move of the citizens comes to exist. Eventually, they rebel and subsequently ban video surveillance cameras. Again, it seems odd, but this kind of backlash happens. This is why unless you are a Jainist, you can't have any swastikas in Germany, even though the Nazis were exclusively the only ones in the millennia of its existence that used it to symbolize anything other than peace or good luck. Of course who's going to tell the Germans not to ban swastikas? After the Nazis, who would blame them? Similarly, after dealing with a surveillance state, who would blame the future people for banning surveillance cameras? Sure, it's probably just lazy programmers. But where's the fun in that explanation?1 point -

Though I would suggest using an icon other than the LEGO logo - LEGO is fairly picky about how and where that's used, and they tend to frown upon it being used in unofficial stuff. They don't even allow it to be used in Cuusoo project mockup images IIRC.1 point -

I haven't said it, but pretty much the same here. Wait, what are defining as normal here? Accentless, non-odd pitched North Americans? Also, what about the third option out of the three, did you heard that yet? See the edit to my last post. I did heard it. (You'd better hope that aidenpons doesn't catch you.) As for what I'd consider normal, I'd say that Doctor Dave speaks with an accent from a country whose first language is English, in the English version of the game. As for other aspects of his voice, I'd say that he doesn't sound eccentric, for want of a better phrase. He does not sound like a Gilbert and Sullivan patter-comic, but rather something like this, I'd imagine (not that I hear him that way in my head, but one can't always emulate voices that one imagines.)1 point -

@QP: Oops, I forgot to mention due date for applications. None: I'm not going to rush anything. Maybe for something, I'll say hopefully before school starts again this will be done. @Kaj: I like that version best. What does everyone else think? There is one other thing though. Can you try changing the word "player" to something else? I'm trying to avoid using that, as some people may find that "awkward", especially since not everyone is using that. Like Sparky may call player "buddy", challengers call racer "newbie" (and more progressive as you progress and such), and Australians maybe "mate", to give a few example.1 point -
