I currently have no plans to build the upstairs, however it is a challenge I'd like to tackle at some point. My major hesitation is that if the second floor were positioned around the elevator, the alignment would be off-centered. EDIT: I just noticed it technically cannot be upstairs since there are no stairs. Go figure. You do indeed! I'll upload some images featuring them in the final model.

Welcome! Velcommen, konichiwa, aloha! How ya doin? Yo! And in any language, welcome to LEGO Island the Information Center! Ever since I discovered my own copy of LEGO Island (>recounted here,) I wanted to build my own, tangible, Information Center. I started in LEGO Digital Designer with the "i" logo on the floor, continued with the Big blue Brick Book, and the big "i" in front of my desk. Brick by brick, tock by tick I began to construct the model in reality, from flowers to cups and red to blue to the elevator, to oh my yes, your score cube; Whoops, I forgot the radio! There's still so much to do, things like racing and jet-skiing getting a few parts in the right colors, building up the walls, and obstructing that ugly framework. Funny (not the "haha" kind of funny, but the "hmm that's interesting" kind of funny... get it, I'm making a LEGO Island reference in a topic about LEGO Island fanart, that's funny, right, and I mean the "haha" kind of funny and not the "hmm that's interesting" kind of funny), because I have the opposite reaction. I've seen enough legitimately mind-scarring fanart (LEGO included) that this collection of fat LEGO Island characters, while incredibly tame on its own, ends up being evocative of that mind-scarring horror, thus resulting in a knee-jerk reaction from me. After all, it only takes a few steps to go from "overweight Laura Brick" to "Laura Brick blowing up like a balloon to appease some sick fetish". And that's why this rustles my jimmies.

Hey guys, Do any of you like first-person shooters? Do you like driving or flying, or maybe the scale of an RTS game? A bunch of us here on RRU have been playing a game that puts all of those together fairly well in an MMO package and it's great fun. It's called Planetside 2 and it's a free-to-play futuristic first-person shooter. Unlike most FPS games with online multiplayer, you're not restricted to 32 vs 32 fight on a tiny instanced map. This game supports over a thousand players per "map" simultaneously, and the maps are actually persistent continents with fights brewing 24/7. We play as the New Conglomerate on the Waterson server and we have a small outfit of our own, [RRUn] for Rock Raiders United (fun fact, in the lore, the NC were construction workers and miners before the war). By small, I mean we have less than a full squad. It's fun, but we can always have more RRU members on board as we have been expanding outwards into other games. We use Teamspeak 3 for in-game communications, so get it if you have a microphone. And please note that this game requires a powerful computer. This Wednesday sparked yet another wildfire in California, this time in the Carlsbad area. This place is known for one thing in particular: LEGOLAND California. Now don't worry, the park hasn't gone up in flames just yet. Turns out that about 15,000 people were ordered to evacuate their homes, and the LEGOLAND park officials had to shut down LEGOLAND this Wednesday as well. Other damage and shutdowns in the Carlsbad area include Cal State San Marcos (a county college of 10,000) and Camp Pendleton (a Marine Corps base) closing down along with LEGOLAND. As well, 30 homes have been burned in the fire so far, and two firefighters have been injured: One due to heat, and the other from smoke inhalation. Uh, the max res of 1280x1024 doesn't fit on a 1366x768 screen... So yeah, your screen's too small for the highest res, vertically. Additionally, once you've tried setting the game to a res the monitor doesn't support, not only does it revert to whatever the resolution was when the game was launched without going back to that resolution in the menu, but it completely locks to the resolution it was at when the game launched. You then have to restart the game to be able to actually adjust it. The result is that, for example, if you're at 1024x768 (second highest available res), try to bump it up to 1280x1024 (max res) but your monitor is too small, the game will be get confused and lock itself to 1024x768 until you restart it; it will even stay at that initial res if you try to lower it to 800x600 or 640x480 without restarting it first.

I'm not sure if you guys are total wimps, or if I've just been inadvertently subjected to enough legitimately mind-scarring art (even LEGO art) that this doesn't get anything more than the bat of an eyelid from me... What I mean is, once you've seen LEGO Alpha Team BDSM, and a realistic version of Frank Honey from LEGO City Undercover in a speedo, and some other things I won't mention, you start to count your blessings.

Apparently the author's explanation for them being fat is: "The only thing to eat on the island is pizza." ._.

Excellent work. You did a great job getting the stuff that couldn't be built from bricks back in 1997 (the floor, the desk, etc...). I'm excited to see the finished piece.

Oh man, that is so cool! The SCAW CUBE seems to be a little small, but maybe that's just seeing it in comparison to everything else... And the door - you might be able to find a door piece in grey... but those types are more commonly in brown... or black... but not grey... wow, I'm using so many '...'s... wow such ... very pause *gets shoved off by June* I actually only now realised that it was that tall. I thought it was smaller... How does it fit in the island? The model which you walk up to seems a lot smaller than this...
