    Film Accurate MetalBeard

I've seen a few attempts to recreate MetalBeard's film appearance around the net, but they've all fallen short of total accuracy by a significant measure. I looked back through the film and determined all of the differences, created an LDD model, ordered the parts I needed, and got to building. And the back There are a ton of minute differences between the film version and the final set, so I won't attempt to cover them all in text. Suffice to say most of the changes seem to be in the interest of stabilization and economy of parts. His right foot, peg leg, and back are the only parts constructed completely differently, but there are tiny changes throughout the model. If your interested in seeing everything in more detail, here's the LXF: This is the link to the LXF I just mentioned I believe I used the wrong color for the light grey parts in the LDD model, my bad. If you want to try your hand at building the model physically, note that there are a few parts that don't exist in the correct colors. The gears atop MetalBeard's shoulders should be dark grey, but only come in light grey. The chain from his chest to his shark arm should be metallic. I'm also fairly certain that the brackets holding his treasure chest are supposed to be gold. And that's all there is to say, I suppose. Enjoy!

New version of ROCK RAIDERS - update

Thx MADMAN for the video, I'd like to explain the problem, if you have a small drill that removes say 5pixels of rock, then you get a gap that is 5 pixels wide, if you need twenty pixels to fit a vehicle through, then the player has to dig in four places wide to make a tunnel big enough to fit through. Imagine as he moves across to drill one of these 5 pixel sections, that he moves just 4 pixels across, that will result in the gap being only 19 pixels wide, this can happen anywhere down a long tunnel, or worse at a curve or bend, so when you vehicle tries to fit through it works fine for some distance then part of the way down it gets to a 19 pixel wide section and it will catch on the side of the tunnel by one pixel. Its probably not so bad for a small vehicle getting stuck in a small tunnel, but imagine you have a huge vehicle 500 pixels wide and it can't get through a tunnel because it is only 499 pixels wide, you will be looking at it and thinking it should fit through. Getting stuck is annoying and frustrating for the player, so its a better game design, to make gaps bigger than the sizes of the vehicles, so we standardize vehicles into set sizes, small medium or large, and only create gaps that are (bigger than) small medium or large, basically we dig out 'blocks' so paths line up, and the player doesn't get stuck - or at least it is obvious that they will, or will not, fit in a tunnel. In the video, you can see that the developers have coded it so you can't create rocks less than a certain size - the size of that pinnacle. That is their 'minimum block size' and any thing smaller than this 'explodes into rubble', this prevents thin slivers of rock being created, however the tip of that sliver in a tunnel, would still prevent a large vehicle getting though. its just a question of how small a block size you want to goto. Currently the AI is served out on the first come first served basis, so the nearest Rock Raider, doesn't get the job, just the first in the line for new orders, I can see that checking the list of available orders and matching these with all the possible tasks, would improve the AI, these could be handed out more appropriately, and we should also add in outside influences, like monsters, so the nearest or best suitable will respond and then delegate their order back to the list for another RR. This is very possible. At the time, too many AI checks would have slowed the game down, but with modern processing power this would be easy.

Well, most of the files people have submitted so far appear to use either "Zay-lacks" or "Zah-lacks". And, since Xiron asked. The X as a Z sound is fairly common in any version of English. US, Canadian, UK, Australian, or what have you. "Xavier" is often, (but not always) "Zay-vee-er", "Xylophone" is "Zie-low-fone", "Xeno" is "Zee-no" or "Zeh-no", etc, etc. (Also, one of the main reasons I'd suggest avoiding the hard X for Xalax, is that Ex-lax, pronounced "Ecks-lacks" is a laxative brand...)

That's right peeps, a mod for LR2 that makes NPCs talk without the need of subtitles to understand! A test I did just to see how it would work out can be found here. People working on this mod: (ordered by when members joined project) Xiron JimbobJeffers le717 Rioforce (le's bro) Quisoves Pugnat (QP) McJobless Ben24x7 ShadowBlaze Oboe Shoes (OS) Ayliffe kajeuter Nintaga (Xiron's Sister)* Captain Kiwi (Nintaga's Friend)* Chonsy* Asterix means the person is from outside RRU. Anyone can join, so long as the following guidelines are followed. Guidelines: Recording should be in 44100 Hertz or higher (remember, just because you can record in that hertz, doesn't mean the sound quality is equivalent to it). Recording should be no less than 192 Kbps Preferred file format: .wav; Secondary preferred is .mp3. You can voice as many characters as you like. You have two weeks to voice the character after you pick it. If you need an extenion let me know with reason why. I'm not going to stop you from picking a character someone else already claimed, in the case two or more people want to do the same character, they will have to compete by uploading a voice clip of the character, with a line said from the game (I'll pick if multiple), and the community can choose who's voice they like better for the character. Please think responsibly and know if you would have a proper voice for the character before going: OHMAGAWSH I WANT TO VOICE DAT CHARACTER!!! List of Characters + Actors (yes, I pulled this from >my post in the Racers wiki topic. ) Questions and Answers: Q. What is XXX? And how do I deal with XXX when voicing the line? A. Be creative. XXX is where the player name use to be. Do your best to make sound great, and ask here for suggestions if you need any. Q. How will you deal with player references? A. We will use gender-neutral surnames instead of the name you choose for your character. Example, Sparky may call the player (XXX) buddy, and challengers may call the player newbie, and other higher rank as the game progresses, just to name a few. There are a lot more things that can be said than just these. Please avoid using "player", if you can. Q. Do I need to own the game to help? A. Nope! I can provide the lines you need to say. Just use the images linked with the character so you know what the character you are acting for looks like. Q. Can we expand or improve the lines if they are too shallow? A. In short, yes. You will have to use part of the original line though, and the majority will need to approve of the change. Note: You also have to keep within the game's targeted audience, so don't use any words you wouldn't hear them put in the game. Q. When will this be released? A. When we are done. There might be alpha & beta releases as the mod progresses on though. Q. Can you keep me updated of progress? A. Sorta. We have a completion list doc right here! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PZpHzQHTX33U31ePO4I18n-P5jxid7J-ZCTS_MshzX4/

Heya, this is a new music! And it's surprisingly very epic! And I should really stop using exclamation marks, because they are really annoying!. As usual, I made a commentary for the video. This time I tried to make it more interesting, and I made the text show for longer, because people told me that the text scrolled too quickly. You're welcome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDmMBkkdBL8 Listen on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/c24dubstep/c24-icicles For your information, that "someone" I mention in the video is my brother. :P

I'll just tell you this: go take a look at all my uploads after A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURRED. And thanks for the feedback. At what time do you hear the tambourines start playing, Cirevam? I actually didn't use them, I'd like to understand which sound are you referring to.

    A Little Social Experiment

I'm still playing FUEL but it never really "ends" as there's no overarching goal. Please note that the following isn't finished yet. It's fun to write so I'll keep adding to it. You find a beat-up book with a strap over it, probably a journal or diary. Read it? There is a small message on the inside of the cover. The rest is illegible. There appear to be several bookmarks laid in the pages, each with a different number. 1 2 6 12 The inside of the back cover has something written on it.

"Intellectual Property" Basically, think of IP as a franchise and everything it contains. Star Wars as an IP has movies, TV shows, comics, collectibles, LEGO sets etc etc. IP includes everything related to and directly using the trademark of somebody's idea. No it means "Internet Protocol". (I'm joking) You should have just linked all your blog posts

I can agree on that dig sizing issue. In Space Engineers, I'm always having the issue of not digging wide enough or the mesh just touches the area of building... it is annoying and I've ended up just building tunnels huge to avoid this issue when building. How is the project progressing?

I agree very much with what you said there McJobless, although I don't know what "IP" stands for. What I do have say about what I'd like to see is: I'd like to see more unique games like the classics, and I'm not just saying this because I grew up with them, but because they actually stood out from the other games LEGO developed at the time. It didn't feel like a car that kept being brought to the garage to get a new coat of paint with a few new extra additions just to always look brand new. Right now, with all the liscened games being made with TT Games and its unchanging engine, this is what it feels like, an old car ran past its time, it isn't all that cool as it use to be back when it was brand new. I'd say more, but writing all that on a tablet with no USB support was tedious enough. If someone could post this for me that would be great.
