MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP

Hey all. So I finally got around to working on the Nebulon-B Frigate again that I started building in MLCad quite a while ago however I've decided to build it in LDD (Lego Digital Designer) instead. This way it will be a bit easier for me to make it in LDD. I imported the old model so all that progress is still there so I'll use that as a base to carry on with it. I've done a bit of work on it already but there's still quite a bit left to do. here's my progress so far.

    LEGO Racers Online

Thanks Grappigegovert. This is just exactly what I needed and this will give the project a real boost since I got stuck with the NPC racers. I hope to find some time to play with this project again (school starts tomorrow). Edit: I have just tried this out, and it is really just a really big missing piece that I can now implement into the software so we can create a real natural experience. Thanks again, this is incredible research. Thanks to Grappigegoverts awesome work, we've made some massive improvement in the project. Please check out the following video:

    LEGO Racers Online

It's been a dream for all of us for a very, very long time... I'm proud to announce: LEGO Racers Online! Me and my brother have been working on this very hard for the last couple of days and the result is amazing. Please note that I'm not posting anything yet but a little teasing screenshot, but we are working REALLY hard to make something that we can all use and enjoy this game like when we we're kids! 02/08/2014: New video added. Scroll to the bottom of this post to watch it! 04/08/2014: New status update added. 20/08/2014: New status update and video added. 05/10/2014: New status update added. 12/10/2014: New status update added. 20/10/2014: New status update added. 27/10/2014: New status update added. 05/11/2014: New status update added. 16/11/2014: New status update added. Current status: Currently, the following functions are implemented and working properly: Play online with two players real-time (1 VS 1) - INCLUDING POWER-UPS! Patch the game automatically. However, we do have all the required information to drive all the opponent from within the software (tested and working). We are working on an implementation of playing against eachother with up to five other players right now. We can't say when this is finished, but we don't expect a very long time. Added 20/08/2014: Power-Ups are now working properly. This means, whenever someone uses Power-Ups, this is getting fired on your client too! Although it is now possible to patch the game automatically, this is not a perfect solution and we are working on something that makes it possible to play online "on demand". Added 05/10/2014: Although I have not been developing actively on game functions, I am now working on and completing a critical step to split the software accepting both TCP and UDP network traffic which is required for some functions, for example connecting to a game server. PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM CURRENTLY BUSY WITH SCHOOL AND I DO NOT ALWAYS HAVE TIME TO DEVELOP ON THIS PROJECT! I HOPE YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THIS! The following things must be completed and working before release: Full implementation of TCP and UDP traffic; Starting a new Race; A chat function, if people are interested in this function. Added 12/10/2014: Last week I have not been developing very much and this will continue for a few more weeks due to school. The good news is that Grappigegovert has proven his immensive skills again and developed and gave me the code to disable the loading of AI paths so patching the game can be removed from the software now. Also, he created functions to start a Race from the software so the Server can tell the Clients to start a specific Race. All credits go to Grappigegovert for his massive research and developing. Added 20/10/2014: Due to school, I have not been developing actively on the online functionality again, but Grappigegovert and me made some nice improvement with the API. This API will be released in the open source (near) future and will give developers the opportunity to create mods very easy. Added 27/10/2014: Due to school, I have not been developing actively again. The good news is, the software is now fully compatible with TCP and UDP, more structured and the API has been put into a seperate project which will result in a release of the public API soon. This API will be discussed in another thread that I will make in the near future. Please note that the project is not dead and I am still developing, but unfortunately due to school I just do not have much time for this great project. Added 05/11/2014: Good news. Last week I was able to develop more actively on the software, which resulted in the possibility to start races from the Server, which brings us a step closer to the release! I will create a new video of the current progress in the near future. Also, the API is getting prepared for a release with the last bug fixes and comments above the functions. Stay tuned! Added 16/11/2014: I am currently facing problems with the starting of the game client and additional events regarding to the API. I am still not satisfied with the way the API currently works. These problems must be solved in order to continue with the online functionality. Don't think that this project doesn't gain any progress, it just takes a lot of time. Please note the following things: It's not guaranteed that this mod will be ever online for public since this project has still needs many, many development hours; The Server and Client are both only in alpha stage at this moment. We are working really hard to create something that just works and anyone would understand; It is very hard to find all the addresses and the correct pointers, so this takes a lot of time; Currently our main goal is to make everything work on a basic game copy. This means that mods are NOT SUPPORTED (YET) and will likely crash the game when used! On the bright side: We currently do have something that works and we are working so hard to make it possible for everyone to enjoy this with us. It was our dream for many years and finally we took the step to actually create something, and not just for ourselves but for everyone who just loves LEGO Racers. I will keep you guys regularly informed. Make sure you check this post at least once a week as the project is under heavy development. Special thanks: We would like to thank Grappigegovert for his great help which resulted in massive improvement of the software. Thanks to this guy, a lot of things are now working (like using Power-Ups). Videos: The following videos show a demonstration of the system in action:

    Freedom Planet

http://freedomplanet.galaxytrail.com/ The game has a demo, try it! Freedom Planet 2 is a thing now due to the success of the first game! Greenlight Freedom Planet 2 for Steam here! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=861154312 Freedom Planet is an indie game developed by Galaxy Trail. It takes inspiration from 90s platformer games, and you may see a bit of resemblance to Sonic in one of the character's playstyles (after all, it did start out as looking like a fangame), but aside from that it is in no way a copy-cat of any specific one of them. It has its own unique style. This game is not a Sonic fangame (as it does get compared to Sonic A LOT), but rather more of a sucsessor. If you love platformer games, you'll for sure want to pick this up! It has adorable characters, awesome OST, and voice acted cutscenes (optional)! This game brings a good challenge that you'll for sure love (Especially hard difficulty, I can't even count the amount game overs on two hands for a certain late game boss. ). This game will provide you with hours of fun for sure. Play another character after you've already played one, and you won't be playing the levels and bosses the same with that character as you did with you previous chracter choice. All characters have a different playstyle, and bosses have various attacks. The difficulty in this game can range from snoozy easy to extremely hard, depending on what difficulty you choose from the options settings, which can be done between levels. It's unfortunate this game lies under the mainstream radar despite how good it is. This game has an average user rating on GameSpot of 9.5/10! I myself was skeptical at first if I should wait for this game to go on a Steam sale (Steam is optional) before getting it, boy I'm sure glad I didn't! Ever since I layed my hands on this game, I have loved every moment of it! No regrets in the immediate purchase ($15 USD). Well what are you waiting for? If you don't already own the game, go try out the demo! This is a must try for any platformer fan! tl;dr: Like retro platforms with its own unique style. It's awesome! O.T. May I just say at the time this game was on kickstarter (that was long ago) it got funded by over 1250%? No one asked me to advertise it like this. I just like the game so much (so evident as I've been talking about it for the last few days) that I just had to share it!

Running LEGO Island in windowed mode

Not sure if this really counts as a mod since it's just a registry edit, but you can run LEGO Island in windowed mode simply by changing a "YES" to "NO". However, it's a bit... ... Glitchy. Especially if you set the value for island quality to zero.

Ratchet & Clank: Qwark HQ, Umbris (Shadowblaze Remix)

Here is a nice remix of a Ratchet & Clank music that I though could have been better. Now it has a style more similar to the second game, which had the best music of all the R&C series. Oh, and by the way, this moosic loops at 1:53. If you want, I can make an extended version of the video. http://youtu.be/z7WXpVTqdQY Listen on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/c24dubstep/umbris-c24-remix

    Rock Raiders MOC: Cavern Transporter.

It's quite good overall. The brown arms don't really seem to fit with the rest of the colour scheme, and a smoky gray cockpit just feels out of place. Also, you mixed the Old Dark Grey with the New Dark Grey which is a crime punishable only by blue Comic Sans... I feel the rear is done very well, but the wings look a little bland on the tips. This is really good for an hour.

    Axel's Mod 1.5 (Updated, 4/10/2015)

Hey Eaol, I've installed your mod, but it keeps crashing every 5 minutes on almost all maps? maybe due to me not having the right .cfg? Could you repost the config file, rapidshare must have deleted it! Thanks!

    LEGO Racers Online

I took a look at it today, and I think the best option would be to delete all RRB files (AI paths). The needed address pointers are in this cheatengine file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/30638624/LEGORacers.CT Only AI 1 and 2 are included, but you can easily add the rest by adding 4 to the 3rd offset in each pointer. Also, DRM and NO-DRM versions have different memory addresses.

    LOGO Rocors 2 Mod

Stop that. Whats wrong with saying that alcom? I don't see any actual issue with saying that. 1. I do not like the label's implications. It is an opening for a whole slew of unfunny shenanigans, that are then excused for the reason of "we are insane". 2. At its best, Rock Raiders United is not "insane". At its best, Rock Raiders United is inquisitive, a hub for exploring classic LEGO games and improving our understanding of them. At its best, Rock Raiders United is intelligent, filled with talented individuals who further our understanding of classic LEGO Games and our ability to create new things from them. At its best, Rock Raiders United is creative, and with the tools and information gathered from its intellegence, it can produce some amazing things. At its best, Rock Raiders United is mindful, its members are careful and understanding with what they say and what they create. At its best, Rock Raiders United is funny, not insane, but funny, as in actually producing comedy. One does not imply the other. At its best, Rock Raiders United is united, functioning as a team to produce amazing things. Rock Raiders United is not going to achieve its best through this doctrine of insanity.

    Freedom Planet

Leaderboards: 1st - Latias4Ever: 6:41.88 2nd - aidenpons: 6:52:33 3rd Shadowblaze: 8:03.84 4th - Drill Master: 10:26.46 Hello hello people! It's time for something completely different and unexpected from me. A giveaway competition! What's the competition about you may ask? Well, since this forum is about games, I thought, why not do something related to gaming? What you'll be doing for this competition is getting the best run you can on stage one of Freedom Planet, aka Dragon Valley, aka the only stage you have full access to complete on the demo. If you hate time trialish things, read what I have to say in the Q&A for a full why explanation. How to compete: What do you have to do you may ask? Well, first, if you don't already own the game, download the demo here: http://freedomplanet.galaxytrail.com/index.htm (Windows and Mac only). Secondly, as both Lilac and Carol, post your best times! Times for both characters will be added up for your total time. Don't worry, the game records times by character, not by best run by any chracter on the stage. You can submit as many times as you want, no limits! *Any speedrun times you've done before the time of this post is not a valid entry. Deadline: Saturday, September 13th 2014, 12:00 AM Sharp (Midnight), Mountain Time (UTC -7) If you win: I will need an email or Steam account to send the stuff to. So when I contact you, be prepared to hand out one or the other. *If no response within 48 hours, you lose your prize to the next person in line. Rules: Final results are required to be in video format (if you aren't on some video site like Youtube, just upload it to a file sharing site). If you have any issues where you still can't do this, contact me, amends can be made. If you try to pull a fast one (pun not intended) and cheat time, you'll be banned from competing. If not time is not final, you can post a screenshot. If you play on Easy difficulty, you will receive a +30 second penalty. If you play on Casual, you will receive a 50 second penalty. No penalty for other difficulties. Full Game + OST *Choice of Steam or non-Steam version. Full Game *Choice of Steam or non-Steam version OST *Choice of Steam or non-steam version (not 100% sure on this one, I can't think of any better prize at the moment because prints aren't available for the official artwork, and the one t-shirt merchandise costs more than the game itself! If you have any better suggestions, please throw them my way!) Additional Notes For First Time Players Regarding Gameplay: Don't try to tackle this all in one day, play a little bit (or a lot, whatever suits you), take it slow and gradually get your times down. You do have three weeks afterall. (How do you think >aidenpons and I got so good in a week?) While not required, a game controller is recommended for the game. Also, while time trial is the only thing you can do in the demo, you don't have to think of it as one while playing it to see if it interests you, it plays pretty much like the regular level, without the important bits, like cutscenes. Perhaps check a video on Youtube to see if the game is more interesting to you in the adventure mode aspect, and if it'll be worth fighting for if you still aren't sure. Since I've showed it to several others, I'll show it here. This is one of my better times for speedrunning with Lilac.(Though it's still not my best. ). And here is another attempt with the same time but with alternate routes. Also, here is a good Carol run by me as well:

    LEGO Racers Online

For me the concern isn't that it's real. I can tell it's real your floor isn't. For me the question is 'will you actually ever finish it?' I've seen a few projects crash and burn; the RRU mods topic anyone? And only jamesster knows how many failed LU attempts there have been. Despite this, I'm looking forward to it; it might not be completed as you laid it out but I'd be happy with a 2-player mode.

    Open err... Island?

Okay, first off, we don't actually know how to mod the gameplay of LI yet. Eliminating boundaries would likely be possible, but I don't know how going characterless would work and it'd probably be very borky anyway. If you're really itching to get Out of Bounds, try debug mode. It's not listed (or even properly understood yet) but the plus and minus number pad keys, in addition to spawning characters, will sometimes hop your character forward a bit, allowing you to break out of bounds. Unfortunately, you'll usually snap back after a while. Curiously, I once had this happen to me even without debug mode on, as seen
