A game I'm working on: A 3D, multiplayer roguelike (Released on Steam June 23rd, 2015)
aidenpons and 5 others reacted to Addictgamer for a topic
Oh boy, this is a big one! First off, the Indie Game Festival deadline is up & coming (technically, it's today -- but for us, it's yesterday because we programmers both have classes all day today). So we busted our butts, finished a build just for the IGF, and sent it out last night. Which means all of you guys get another Barony release! Fun, huh? Now then, a ton of stuff has changed: + Confusion effect + Hunger indicator (appears above your health & mana bars when you get hungry) + Several new books (yay, new writer!) + Skeletons + Minotaur boss + New textures (courtesy our new texture artist)! + Ingame playing manual + Tons of new sound effects. + New music tracks. + Minimap differentiates between explored and unexplored regions. + Healing spells (only work on self at the moment) + Monsters make idle sounds. You'll hear plenty of bone clanking, goblin chanting, and rat squeaking now. + Minotaur boss level. He chases you through a maze. Don't try to fight him, I guarantee you'll get your face destroyed. + Leadership ability. Right click humans -> they follow you. + Baron Herx talks now. + Minotaur timebomb. There's a random chance that on any given level, the minotaur will be set loose to chase you after a certain amount of time. Don't worry, Herx will warn you. Don't idle around on those levels. + Spellcasting animations! I busted my butt to make these, you'd better like them. + New story intro (accessible from the main menu) * Minimap bigger * Tweaked bleeding. Bleeding to death now impossible. * Adjusted game classes & rebalanced wizard. * Doors are harder to break * Chat length increased * Bugfix: Readable books now spawn on low dungeon levels. * Changed monster curve to be easier for the higher levels (mines & swamp). * Last dungeon area disabled for this build. The minotaur boss is the last thing you do. * Monsters don't starve out anymore. * Modified shopkeeper dialogue. * Many bug fixes and weaks. Images:6 points -

Island Xtreme Stunts buildings recreated in LDD

I have recreated IXS bulidings as well. It was rather hard because there were such things as impossible brick connections, non-LEGO parts and also lack of necessary pieces in LDD.2 points -

Racer Importer/Exporter v1.0 I've made a tool which will export a racer and his car from your savegame, then allow you to import it back into your savegame. The point of this tool is to allow users to share their created vehicles and characters. Download: https://www.rockraidersunited.com/files/dl-r16/ Requirements: .Net Framework 41 point -

Hey guys: So, I joined a game dev team. Since then, I've been very busy working on this game: Barony, a 3D, multiplayer Roguelike, which, has further-since been greenlit and available on Steam since June 2015! ** UPDATE JUNE 2016 ** Earlier this year, we have released a graphics overhaul, among continued new patches fixing bugs and adding new features. Additionally, as of June 27 2016, Barony is open source, licensed under the GPL 3.0. Github repository here. Here's some screenshots of the new version: Pre-2016 graphics-overhaul Screenshots:1 point -
LEGO Racers map revamp
Rock Monster reacted to RobExplorien for a topic
LEGO Racers map revamping This topic actually turned into a whole map retexturing project. I'm going to retexture all track maps (which are shown in the lower right corner in-race). For now, some has been done already on this personal project, but most still has to be retextured. As soon as I have all tracks revamped, I will upload the small texture mod and make it PatchIt compatible (which makes it better than having to add each .bmp to its designated track map manually). Old releases: Current release: Fixing cut-off track (v1.0): It has annoyed me since I first noticed it, and never thought of fixing this, until now. The maps of three tracks appear cut-off at a certain spot. Now you might think: "Why are you making such a big deal out of this!?". I'm kind of a perfectionist. It may not contribute at all, but it is just something that I thought had to be fixed. Thanks to the ripped textures, that made me able to adjust the maps. The adjustments may not be very noticeable, but it looks better compared to the old map in my opinion. To spare you the editing of the maps, I've added the edited files in a .zip and can be downloaded here: Map revamp v1.0 When extracting the .zip, you'll find three maps, each containing one adjusted map. Copy (or cut) each IGD_MAP.bmp to the corresponding RACEC*R* file in the .JAM archive, then recompile and add the .JAM to wherever it has to go in order to play LEGO Racers with the adjusted maps. Images of the adjusted maps; left is old, right is new. New features on maps (v2.0): It's here, all new in colour! This map revamp mod includes retextured maps for all tracks. This mainly includes colouring the map to match with the track colour, but shortcuts are added as well. Don't forget the bonus feature, and I think that some already know what it is. It was fun to make, but it is more important to me that you enjoy the new maps. Feedback is appreciated, as it may help me improve the maps even more. Even I still doubt if some tracks look finished or good, but for the time being, enjoy this release. I've added an image to give you a preview of the map revamp mod, picturing Rocket Racer Run and Dark Forest Dash. This version is outdated, and is merged with v2.0.1, so download link to the map revamp mod can be found under that section. Issue fix (v2.0.1): Not much difference compared to v2.0. le717 informed me about an issue where the fast install with PatchIt! of the map revamp mod wasn't working correctly, and he had to install all separate .BMP files manually. I fixed that, and it should work now on the easy installing way. Also, I did minor pixel edits on a few tracks. Barely noticeable, but merely serving for the detail. In order to play with the map revamp mod, you have to download the file below and install it into your LEGO.JAM. It is PatchIt! v.1.0.3 compatible as well, but manually installing it or using PatchIt! is up to you. Link to the file for the map revamp mod: Map revamp v2.0.1 Extra map:1 point -
X-Pod Playoff ?
Yajmo reacted to aidenpons for a topic
So, I was thinking "Forum Games." Then I had an idea: What about the X-Pod Playoff? You're probably wondering what I'm wittering on about. http://biomediaproject.com/bmp/files/LEGO/gms/online/Make&Create/XPodPlayoffs/ This. The closest game I can compare it to is Chess. It consists of you making "units" from your X-Pods and then trying to get them onto the opponent's home turf, being barricaded all the way. Aw, what the heck, just look up the Basic Game Rules there. They'll explain most things, and don't hesitate to ask me if you want explanatory notes. Now you heard me say "X-Pods." This game will be ludicrously difficult to play without a Pod. It's possible, yes, and even then you'd want your opponent to have a pod just so they can be checking up on you. So, Minimum Stuff you must have: Paper, pen, and the Internet. A printer could help, too. Stuff I'd recommend you to have: One X-Pod, a printer, and a nice A3 board divided into a 6x9 grid, which is the game size. A printer, scissors, and a laminator would also be recommended but I can understand that not everybody would have these. When you check out that link above, the Starter Kits would be a good idea to have, if only because they give you a Parts list at the back which is brilliant for a) finding the bricks you need to get your Pod, and b) checking what "bricks" you do or don't have if you don't have a pod and are trying to play this on Excel. Also, I have eight out of eight pods now, if ya wanted to know that The Full Plans are missing from there site I linked above, so I handily uploaded them for you here: https://app.box.com/s/one3bfcrwj2lec9zjmn9 NOTE: If you're playing with/against the Monster Pod, the Eye Beamer is a weapon of mass murder. I only let it have a Move 1 instead of its Move 2, but I then add Scare to all its levels. This is still very powerful, so I'm considering giving it Scare for only Level 3. [/ifYouDon'tKnowTheGameYou'llHaveNoClueWhatIJustSaid] ANOTHER NOTE: I hate the bureaucracy surrounding moving and acting, so I say "you can move up to your total (if you have Fly 3 then you can move 1,2, or 3 squares), if you have two moves (Thunder Dragon: Fly 2, Push 2) you can only use on of those. Actions can be made at any time in your turn, and you can play them all: if you have Move 2, Decon, Repair then you could move 1, deconstruct something, move another square, and repair something else. The exception to this is that Eat and Decon cannot be used in the same turn. If you're thinking "Ooh, this looks nice," there are 12 X-Pods in existence. Only eight of those actually were included in the game; AFAIK the game was released sometime before the second wave but after the first (dur ), and the second wave of pods had cards made for the game. The third wave did not, however, have any cards made for it. I could spend some time doing so... but I don't have any of those pods. In the spoiler below is a list of what pods don't and do have cards for the game. IN brackets is also their main colour, as Lego re-used several names for the third wave.1 point -

Brr... It sure has gotten cold at Pirate Skull Pass recently! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-AyaChVeHw Pirate Winter Pass.zip Little downloads because it became a download on November 2014. Please try both and give me your feedback! I would really like to know which you prefer. If it wasn't to much work, I would put the better features of both together, but alas it is something that would take waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time at this point.1 point -
LR: Minifigure Space textures

My aim is to recreate as many (old) minifigures in LEGO Racers. Right now I'm focusing on LEGO Space minifigures. This is what I already textured. Textures may look stretched at some times, due to the poses the minifigs take. Note that these textures may not be the final result. You can click on the images to enlarge them. Brickster Skin!
Rock Monster reacted to LimeKiller for a topic
In races, his hand is colored. He even has a face for every emotion, because I ripped them straight from Lego Island 2. Thanks to mumboking for telling me where they were, because those files are such a mess I never would have found them otherwise. Replaces all the AL faces and TU_CHST. My only regret is that there is no backwards hat or knit cap for him to wear. https://ore.rockraidersunited.org/legacy/Brickster_561163.zip1 point -

I have to look for Palpatines hood first. But the Stormtroopers are working. I will try to skin them. And two pilots. They are training for Halloween. They dressed themselves as knights. Yes, you are right. I had to look up first but I can use (in theory) batman and indiana jones. The other (newer) games do not use trianglestrips - so it will be hard for me to convert them.1 point -

Switching body parts on the AI
joeytheleo reacted to Jimbob for a topic
Just because the textures are four parts combined into one image, it doesn't mean we can't still modify the parts. I'd imagine that if it was possible to, say, switch the torso of Rocket Racer to use the hook torso of Captain Redbeard, while keeping other parts the same, you'd simply end up with Redbeard's torso using Rocket Racer's texture. EDIT: Whoops, I misinterpreted what you said. Been doing that a lot lately. The figures may be one model, but I reckon that they just use a single texture for ease and actually are split into four. I guess there's only one way to find out! Alright, I'm going to whip out my copy of LR again and have another look at this now.1 point -

Barney from LEGO Stunt Rally
RocketRacer123 reacted to lu9 for a topic
Someone made Mr. X Now it's time for my favorite LSR character, Barney! (Despite the name reminds me of a certain scary dinosaur... ) Since LSR has just videos, no textures, I needed to get the screens from an actual minifigure. Download: Clicky! It replaces Robin Hood's Body and Willa the Witch's Face (The only expressions I could make was Sad, and Blinking, the rest are the same Barney's face) NOTE: Please make a backup of WW faces and RH_CHST if you are extracting this directly into LEGO Racers folder (if you use 1999 version) because it extracts directly to the folders. I hope you like it and maybe I'll make more LEGO Stunt Rally Textures!1 point
