    RR Communication Compound

Last week I've made this MOC. The Communication Compound is a small building which is a low energy consuming and do'nt cost much resources to build. The Rock Raiders use this building to communicate between the HQ's, miners and vehicles. I've made this as a concept for Rock Raiders 2. WAD Recycler 2

Don't know if anyone else uses this, but I do, and I have updated it. Changelog v2 Rewritten. Backup feature was removed, it was fairly pointless. Dragging LegoRR0 & LegoRR1 files only into the window will prompt to ask if you want to extract them straight into the Data folder. No longer uses Ogun's extractor. Enjoy.

Deep Space Dragon Detective [A detective game that takes place in space? Sounds..... interesting.] Ultimate Drug-Dealing Knights [i don't even know what to say about this one. I likely would not play it.] Mystic Tricycle - The Movie [Movie? I thought we were doing games!] Communist Nazi Machine [uh. No. Just no.] Almighty Railroad Park [sounds like a crossover of Railroad and Roller Coaster Tycoons to me] Disturbing Hovercraft Alpha [Disturbing hovercraft? Oh goodness no. Get that out of here!] Biblical Octopus Rush [Do I really want to know?] Mighty Hammer Fest [This sounds like it has a chance of being okay, depending on the developers.]

I went to the LEGO Store in Bluewater today. I didn't get anything apart from LEGO Club Magazine Issue 2 2014, a catalog thing, a leaflet... and a LEGO Yoda poster signed by LEGO Star Wars Designer, Kurt Kristiansen. I didn't know he was going to be there. He had a stack of them there that he was signing. Click to enlarge: I don't have a picture of the poster... Stupid thing, I want the pics in a 3x2 grid...

LEGO Ideas First 2014 Review Results

To be fair, Ideas reviews are not supposed to be competitions, save in the matter of production/release priority. While I agree that TBBT is an odd choice for, LEGO, I don't think LEGO chose it over Doctor Who, since it has been officially stated that this is not how the reviews operate. LEGO can't simply snap its collective fingers and produce a licensed Doctor Who set. Negotiations, royalties, and other assorted legalities must be surmounted. Nothing makes the production of TBBT LEGO sets and DW LEGO sets mutually exclusive. And of course there's what I consider the single largest obstacle to an Ideas DW set, the IP's immense global popularity. It seems to me that if LEGO considered Doctor Who a viable property, then it would have begun negotiations for the license the moment it became available. So, I think, the Ideas projects in review are superfluous.. LEGO has no doubt already made a decision concerning Doctor Who sets. Either it produces them, or it doesn't. Ten-thousand votes are not going to change that. If we do see any, then I imagine they will be in a line of their own, not under the Ideas banner.

    WAD Recycler 2

WAD Recycler v2.00 So I was getting sick of using the WAD Tool, having to File>Compile New WAD and then locating the folder every single time I make an edit. So I made this so that compiling and extracting no longer needs you to browse for files and folders. All you do is start the program and when you need to extract or build your folders, you just drag them into the window.. Extract: drag your WAD files onto the window and it will create the LegoRR* folder(s) in the same directory. Build: drag the LegoRR* folder(s) into the window and it will create wads in the same folder as the folder path. There is a status text which will tell you when it is processing or is complete. Changelog v2 Rewritten. Backup feature was removed, it was fairly pointless. Dragging LegoRR0 & LegoRR1 files only into the window will prompt to ask if you want to extract them straight into the Data folder. No longer uses Ogun's extractor. Download

Could Someone make Skin Texture Packs for the Following Mini figures?

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+do+i+gimp If a piece of software is fairly well known, then either there's probably tutorials out there for it or it's straightforward enough to not need them.

This sounds right up someswedish's alley. I really don't recall any canonical, scriptural appearance of an octopus, let alone a rush of them. Must be from one of the Gnostic books.

It's orange and it's Xtreme. It looks like Xtreme Stunts is here to stay, now as a racing/stunt vehicle producer in LEGO City. If you don't recall, this first popped up back in 2013 along with a skateboarding kid, a moustachioed robber, and an ambulance.

Well, this is unexpected. I'm quite happy for the Birds set (whose chances of success I was rather worried about,) Ornophile that I am. I'm incredibly surprised to see the Big Bang Theory pass. I know very little about the show, but it's a modern sitcom, which hardly suggests a nature appropriate for LEGO's target audience. But then, LEGO has been turning away from its once (as in 2012) staunchly defended guidelines for age appropriateness, what with sets based off the Dark Knight, the Dark Knight Rises, and the Simpsons. And there's no reason to hold Ideas to a double-standard.

I like the LEGO birds project, and as for TBBT, well, I think it's an ok set, but I never really got into the show. Though it's nice to see that Doctor Who might still make it.

The birds set isn't my cup of tea, but it's neat to see it get through, as it's not depending on a license or any sort of big fancy IP. The Big Bang Theory... lol. kden. Also, I'm moving this to LEGO News as we have topics there for other review results, and it wouldn't make sense to make a duplicate of this one.

Could Someone make Skin Texture Packs for the Following Mini figures?

Just gonna add that you can download a full free version of Photoshop direct from Adobe. Yes, it's CS2 from about 6-7 years ago, but it does pretty much the same things as the current version. It's also the program I used to draw my current avatar, so it definitely works (however dodgy my drawing skillz are).

  24. There are a couple of ways you could go around doing this. Firstly, if you don't have GIMP/Photoshop, you should get one of those - GIMP is free and Photoshop has a free trial (no watermarks or anything like you get in some other kinds of trial programs). Then you can search for the above decals as textures, as a lot of people - particularly on Eurobricks - have made textures for these things. Just make sure you give credit to the creators if you use them. Alternatively, if you can't find them, just crop out the decals from the images you've posted and use those! EDIT: Oh yeah, and once you have the textures, just follow >this tutorial on sticking them into the game.

    Tutorial: 3D Modelling

Have you considered adding GDBump as an optional requirement? Few questions for GDBump development: QP said all (byte) vales must be integers. You may want to mention that/comfirm/deny that but also, are ushort values also supposed to be integers? Although this would only happen unintentionally, since it supports changing of RGB values, should I cap those at values between 0 and 255? Note on the tutorial: Material lists can be missing. There are in-game files this way.

TIME Magazine Declares LEGO As "Most Influential Toy"

The website for TIME Magazine posted a report on the thirteen most influential toys of all time about a week ago. Product lines from Cabbage Patch Dolls to Star Wars figures to dolls from a relatively new Disney Junior show called "Doc McStuffins" are among these influential playthings. And three guesses as to what was at the top of the heap? Yes, LEGO is not only the top grossing toy company right now, but also the one that has influenced so many. This comes as no big surprise among its fans, but it's refreshing to know that external sources are also recognizing LEGO as such a huge thing. As it said in the article, “I hear more stories about people who have become architects and engineers because they had a love for building with LEGOs†than I have heard people say, ‘I became a lawyer because I had a lawyer Barbie.'†Sources: http://time.com/3089384/influential-toys/

    Small Transport Truck

Aw, come on, until now it wasn't known how the GDB files could be used to make/modify models. I'd call that a discovery, even if it was Will who worked out the file format in the first place. I agree though, it would be much better if someone could make a tool, but there are few people on RRU with the ability, time and dedication to do it. Until such a time as one exists, I'm quite happy putting a little extra effort in to build custom models that I can share with the community. EDIT: Update! It doesn't look like much, but these are the first few plates completed. I might add shadows later, but textures aren't required as they aren't seen (parts will be built on top). Ignore the wheels for now, too. The 2x2 plate that Redbeard sits on was modelled first, and took... Quite a while. The 2x10 plate was a lot easier though, and I was able to make the turquoise 2x4 plate in about 20 minutes (most of which was spent drawing it in Photoshop). So it's not actually as bad as I thought it'd be. I'm just dreading the difficult parts like the tipper, main dark grey base and the bucket seat.
