Previewing the .MIP directly from Explorer.exe
Fifi La Fume and 2 others reacted to Fluffy Cupcake for a topic
I've never been told this, and never knew about it before, so I assume it is not well known. So here I am to share my knowledge! Unfortunately, I believe this is for Windows users only. Anyhow... Ever wanted a easier way to preview the .MIP files than from a viewer? Well, I've found a way! However, Windows Vista & 7 support is not mentioned. A user of those, please let me know how it works out for you okay? You'll need: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sagethumbs/ *Funnily enough, this borrow's XnView's library, which is the program I was using before. 1) Install it 2) Open Up The Options (you should be able to find it in Start Menu search) and add "mip" to the customs area. 3) Press Ok and wait for it to finish its stuff. Reboot of explorer.exe may be required. You should now be able to view all MIP files directly from your windows browser like so. Enjoy!3 points -

Hopefully you're okay with this Cyrem - if not, just delete the file - but I've saved each layer to a separate PNG and uploaded them, so that you can import them to whatever program you wish to use. Cyrem's original PSD is best to use if you can get Photoshop though as it uses blending options which make the editing easier. Download EDIT: I've made some animated smileys!2 points -

This isn't directed at you Eva, but why do people love saying that almost all the time now? It is as if people think something highly stupid is remotely funny. It gets annoying to the people who truely like Sonic, and just makes them hates the negative attention that orbits it even more.2 points -

No, the raider didn't have CrossWater TRUE. In any case, he'd have been walking on the water rather than in it. Also, I hadn't mucked around with the Path.map. But I know exactly how to replicate it... once again, a is up as your prize for guessing it, but the same EULA applies to the one which I gave to le717. (Speaking of that, I'll be updating my avatar soon...ish. Don't worry, it'll be sooner than Ayliffe's blog post. )1 point -
Regarding LEGO and TT...

Some Questions and/or Notes. 1. Is there any chance LEGO has forgotten about LEGO Island (and even the Xtreme Stunt sets) and, to LEGO, it's like it never existed right now? 2. I am, to be honest, okay with TT reusing the same game engine for every new LEGO game, I think the idea of it is a very interesting concept, but what I really am tired is of TT making games from the LICENSED LEGO sets... 3. I would be legit hyped and surprised if, heck, even with TT, they made some sort of modern LEGO Racers or LEGO Island, or at least a nod to them in any upcoming game. 3. How many years left to the contract between LEGO and TT to be over again? 4. Don't look at the following pictures unless you want to be really disappointed. Some Questions and/or Notes. 1. Tahu 2015 Listing on Amazon UK
Ayliffe reacted to STUDZ for a topic
Expect to hear a lot about BIONICLE 2015 sets popping up in the wild over the next month. As it stands, Amazon UK put up a listing for Tahu, although it still uses the preliminary watermarked picture and is said to ship within "two to five weeks". Although this does add up to the official release of BIONICLE on January 1st, there COULD be a chance the set will ship sooner. The "Master" of Fire currently goes for 15 quid, so if you're in the UK and want to take a chance of getting Tahu right away, here it is. In other news, 2015 LEGO sets have been popping up in Toys 'R' Us over the last couple weeks as well (mainly in Canada, of all places), so fingers crossed that more BIONICLE sets start to trickle out before the new year. Art Battle 2: A Rude Awakening
Ben24x7 reacted to Arthuriel for a topic
Since Ben said, that I should do a picture, I thought "Let's do at least one picture for this thread (and then forget to make another picture ^^)... ...let's see: Oh, Ayliffe forgot the other sack with Johnny Thunder". Apparently Johnny already escaped in another picture, but since it took me a while to make it, he is still trapped in my universe . Hmm, who should do the next picture? Since I have the impression, that the story has already split up in ~four different story lines, I would say, that the next user has a free choice^^. Okay, let's just say: Someswedish.1 point -

Regarding LEGO and TT...
Quisoves Potoo reacted to lol username for a topic
1 - No, they've been continually referencing it through the years, as with many other popular old themes/games, particularly (but not exclusively) with the collectible minifigures. Many books from the past few years detail LEGO's past themes and games and history as well. 2 - Ok. 3 - Ok. 3 (again?) - The contract goes to 2016 IIRC. 4 - Oh no some kids don't know about games that are probably years older than them. aaaaaaaaa. Do you remember the names and characters and stories of the classic castle, pirates, space, etc themes in the 80s and early 90s? I'd bet most here don't know very much of them, and I wouldn't expect them to. Time moves forward.1 point -
Regarding LEGO and TT...

LEGO doesn't forget anything. Its heritage is a very powerful asset, and it knows that. It may not be extolling the virtues of its first video game at the moment, but come such a time when it sees it to be beneficial, and LEGO Island will be celebrated as an important and well-loved part of LEGO's history. The problem is that the TT gimmick relies, in large part, on the translation of a popular franchise to virtual LEGO. I suspect that any non-licensed TT LEGO games will have to have an equivalent draw (such as LEGO City: Undercover's Nintendo connection.) For my part, I think the problem is not that the engine is reused, but that it is reused without any attempt to build upon itself. Given the number of times it has been used in the past nine years, you'd think it would be amazingly advanced by now. But, in spite of all the fancy effects and huge maps, the system is still the basic "smash-kill-collect studs-reach level's end" that it has always been, just bloated. I'm not quite certain (a quick search of the internet yields nothing), though I'd say it really doesn't matter until the games experience a severe dip in popularity, something that has yet to happen, as far as I know. Disappointed? Not really. I'd be unreasonable in expecting everyone in LEGO's target audience, without the presence of an older sibling, to be interested in games that were released at least 12 years ago.1 point -

Lego Time Cruisers comics
aidenpons reacted to emily for a topic
There's also LEGO Island and Racers, technically Creator too. In all of those cases, though, the media was developed as standalone, not based on working concepts for a theme. So this is really bizarre. Now we get to wonder just what and how Hagen simplified, and whether it will be possible to dig up the source material. EDIT: and that Time Twisters image is from a supplemental catalog to Klick. Dark_Turtle uploaded the World Club version of it, remember? It's possible it was drawn by Hagen since he would have been an artist on-hand, but it almost certainly has no significance beyond its promotional nature.1 point -

Great! I don't have access to my PC at the moment so cannot install these, but I'll try to check them out soon. Are you able to provide some screenshots? It's usually a good idea with mods, as it gives people an idea of how the mod looks and is also a greater incentive to download it.1 point -

First of all i did not forget. You are not the only one who has not been drawn, I've done less than half of all requests. You were not skipped, I simply have not gotten to yours yet. Secondly, I am not "Fushigar." I am Fushigisaur, or Fushi, Fushigi, Fush, Sushi, Jush, June, Juni, Juniper, Bug Catcher, Slug Master, or Sad Tim. All of these are acceptable names to call me. "Fushigar" is not.1 point -
