IF we start a new round, i had forgot to mention this in the rules post, but I had decided that the premise of the next round would be decided by the winner. Though i don't know if there even is/was/will be a winner this round so I dunno how well that would work now. BUT Whoever ends up picking it, I would recommend we please please please do something completely unrelated and not just continue this story. Because then what's the point of starting a new story at all. We can still reference the events of this one but a new start is a chance to do something entirely different, why waste that?

And how many times has somebody said "Good day" when it actually isn't? And when you ask "How are you," do you really expect a honest answer which may well me "I'm so sad, my dog died and my parents divorced?" (I made that up on the spot BTW) Precisely: you don't and so therefore there is no real need to ask that question apart from niceties which are pathetic things. (If you know me on Steam, I'm rather frank and to the point ) I use Good day because nearly all days are good, for me. I continue breathing and nobody close to me has died. I also use actual answers to "How are you". Drives some people bonkers.

We already share a lot of DNA with other animals; the more recent the common ancestor; the more the our DNA is identical. So if you take a pig's DNA for a certain protein. You'll most likely find a similar strain in human DNA, in the same 'neighbourhood', and the only difference will be mutations that don't change the shape or function of the protein. Copy and paste the pig DNA over the human DNA, and bingo. WRONG. Not this simple. Copying and pasting involves a specially tailored variant of HIV. In addition, even among similar things, there's a lot of variation in size and shape. Bonobos and chimpanzees are very close to us as far as percentage of similar DNA. Then come mice, and some types of bacterium. It's not quite the nice line taught in schoolyard neodarwinism (which is, in addition, ten years out of date when addopted). Maybe... On a side note, the only practical way to replace a piece of DNA in all cells in the body is when the body consists of only one cell; so right after conception. Correct, but you can also use an HIV variant to go through everything. It just takes time. Humans are animals. It's impossible to change the DNA of all the cells in a mature human body to pig DNA. If you to replace the DNA of a zygote (=a fertilized egg cell) with pig DNA, the result will be a miscarriage, the womb will probably reject the embryo within days of conception. I'd disagree with the first one on one semantic level, namely, we are unique in our abstract information processing ability and I believe this makes it reasonable to seperate humans into their own category for some things. The second is correct, afaik. We've never succesfully tried crossbreeding with our closest relatives, the chimpanzees. Who knows... Some closely related animals can still interbreed, despite having a different number of chromosmes, e.g. zebroids (zebra horse hybrids) The crossbreed would likely be sterile (horse/donkey hybrids, most other hybrids). Also might have some odd or bad organ formation issues. I'm not familiar with biology of LF.Xx.3273, but I'm not aware of a method to replace the entire genome of a human body once it is beyond the zygote stage. For terrestrial organisms this question is currently meaningless. once again, our old friend HIV can do it. It just takes time and could be very very painful. Or fatal. Remember, kids, don't play with HIV! For the experimenter? No. For the experimentee? Yes. Especially because I have a powerful rifle. IF we can turn a human into a hybrid, we can probably just as easily do the opposite. If we can only play with zygotes on this, then... no. If we can SAFELY transition fully grown creatures, then... maybe, but previous caveats on pain and total organ failure apply. Growth rate isn't even synchronised in our own body... Correct, you renew your liver over seven years but renew your skin in far less time. Some 'behaviors' are encoded in the genome (example: knee-jerk reflex, metabolism, biases.) Biases are not genetic, biases are a result of where you grow up, and your culture. I have a bias against eating dogs. This is largely cultural. I could probably eat it just fine. Metabolism is not a behavior, feeling, or memory. Reflexes are... not behaviors, feelings, or memory, either. They are involuntary actions that happen on a very low level, and most still work when unconcious (breathing, hearbeat).

I don't think I've ever gotten brain freeze more than once, if at all. I'm basically in the same boat that you are. I have Asperger's, OCD, ADD, ridiculously high anxiety, and gender dysphoria. I've seen a few different psychologists and a psychiatrist.

To unpack the archives you need QuickBMS, I've fixed the download link in the topic for you. You basically select the script then the archive the script is executed on. Currently there is no re-pack tools, I could make them but I haven't got around to it.

I know how you feel on several of these things. These I can offer sympathy and understanding on. I have a mild form of autism, as well as ADD. I can deal with people in person, but I don't like it. Online, I can filter things down to a manageable level. Fortunately, I haven't had to go to a large party in years that didn't have the option of finding a small alcove and chatting with one or two people of similar interests. Time to recharge is very important. I hope you'll be able to get plenty. Also, what's with small talk? I do not see how talking about the weather, or the quality of the miniature quiches, without any objective, point, or reason is helpful, good, or useful. I also can't figure out how to properly do it without either sounding like I hate the person or like I'm trying to communicate in secret code. I hate small talk. My body likes to flip me off, too... but not as badly. I have to deal with what appears to be the starts of the same set of long-term musculoskeltal issues my mum has had for many years, a set that has no real name because the doctors have had no idea what it is. It may be related to fibromialgia. Basically, my muscles tense up, and will do like a slow-burning, less intense cramp for up to three hours... and everything is tight. I had to stop practicing martial arts due to that. Much less severe than what you describe, but I understand how hard and stressful it can be. You are lucky when it comes to brain freeze, though. Your nose feeling frozen is not as bad as when it feels like there's a shard of ice poking up into your brain, most likely. Brain freeze can hurt. A lot. A.L.I.C.E.: "There's no need to apologize."

Right, I've thought about it, and how I feel is this- While, yes, making the game unwinnable is an issue, the bigger problem is the sudden jumps in the story. We went from fighting a robot in the tower to suddenly Thundercorp blew up and Astro Guy is on the moon with BOTH thunder containers without any explanation of how or why any of that happened. If the game reaches a situation where most of the players are unable to win through natural and logical steps, that's fine- that's simply winning. But to just come in and say that you've won, without doing anything to warrant such a victory, doesn't work. Each new post should nudge the story along one step at a time rather than jump headfirst straight into a new situation. What we need to decide now, is where to go next. As this is basically a trail run, it doesn't really matter. On the one hand, we've already done out best to merge confusing and contradictory posts into a coherent storyline, so it would be consistent if we were to do that again and keep going. However, on the other hand, we've kind of written ourselves into a corner. So, we've got 3 options: End the story here Try to keep going or Reset the story back to before Thundercorp blew up We should probably put it to a vote. I'm not always gonna be online to make decisions, so it's important we have some sort of system in place so that if something like this comes up again the story won't come to a standstill while you wait for me to weigh in.

I have to think about this. While I do that, enjoy this s***ty .gif It didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, and I'm honestly considering not counting it at all, but after the time i spent working on it it'd be a waste to not post it.

I just noticed that the contents of the .zip are now completely wrong for some unexplained reason. It is now fixed, but notice: the .zip contains loose files. Paste these over the existing files in GAMEDATA/COMMON/ (back-up of the original files is optional but recommended). Perhaps this will fix the problems related to this mod.
