@darkel does that mean that, with a bit of TXT and script ticking (I guess) you can like, port ANY character from any LEGO TT game into a different game? For example, Batman in LEGO Star Wars, or Emmet in LEGO Batman 2, or whatever Also does that mean I could create some sort of "Pizza launcher" for a Pepper Roni character? Because that would be awesome EDIT: OH YESSSSSSSSSS Now I just have to make him a separate character c: It will be even more painful to make Pepper a separate character without a proper GSC/GHG manager (to extract and insert back) because almost every character's GHG has an animated face mesh but I want Pepper's face to be plain... if someone with patience to hex edit a GHG (or make that manager tool I talked about) could edit it to have Pepper's features3 points -
Life Sure Likes to Rock and Roll

Suffering as I do from Lyme Disease, I can sympathize with your plight. I have seen enough doctors and popped enough pills to last a lifetime. Nor is stress any stranger to me, therefore. I still manage to experience it, despite doing very little in the way of anything this year. And while the benefits I gain from Aspergers generally outweigh the hindrances, I still find, due to the combination of it and my fatigue, that I occasionally experience an inordinate amount of social anxiety. Re small talk: I do try to avoid it, but I regrettably find myself slipping into it occasionally. But I usually find some common ground on which to converse. I am also skilled in turning a conversation in a direction more to my liking. It has been far too long since I've had the latter with anyone other than my relatives. I still fondly recall having a Theological/Metaphysical debate at a school dance, during my Sophomore year of Highschool. I don't think that it is common to be greeted by a girl at such an event asking if one is "still a Pelagian." I find that Doctor Who and History make good conversation topics. I do this a good deal more often than I should. Being tired all the time, in spite of looking quite healthy, compels one to do this. Anyway, enough about me. I hope that you feel better, Ace. Perhaps you can take some comfort in knowing that you aren't the only one whose body seems to be in open rebellion. And no, I'm not a Pelagian.2 points -

Menu music audio quality changes
Rock Monster reacted to lol username for a topic
A rather subtle bug that's been subtly bugging me for a while... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZEZdaV0TAc From the main menu upon first starting the game, entering the Circuit Race, Single Race, Versus Race, or Time Race menus will make some sort of change to the quality of the music being played (see above video - you may want to use decent headphones). The music sounds a bit buzzier, particularly the drums (I'm not an audio guy so I don't know what that'd be called). Entering the Build menu does not make the change - upon returning to the main menu from Build, entering one of the above menus will still trigger the change. Oddly, entering the Options menu does not make the change, despite it continuing the standard menu music like the other affected menus. This change does not reverse itself upon going back to the main menu; once it's been altered it's set like that until you restart the game. I'm using the 2001 version. I'm not sure which state is the "right" one, or if this happens in the 1999 versions (don't have mine installed to check). It's not something you're prone to noticing, but once you've heard it, it's a bit hard to unhear it. Is it just a bug in the game that everybody has, or could it be more specific?1 point -

Thought on Animal and Human DNA exchanging
Quisoves Potoo reacted to noghiri for a blog entry
I believe the traditional category for man is "rational animal" (or, as one Greek philosopher facetiously put it, "hairless biped." ) Due to linguistic evolution, the term "animal" has come to be used where once the term "beast" (which has now taken on a more feral connotation) was. I posit that being rational, and thus unique on this world, puts humans in a separate category from what would classically be called "brutes".1 point -

Sorry, but it's not a quality decrease. It's just random volume increases and more pronounced panning, along with random slight equalizations. That is the weirdest audio management I've ever seen in a game.1 point -

Car Craze's Brick Mod
Quisoves Potoo reacted to Car CrazeXVI for a topic
IMPORTANT -- READ CAREFULLY: By installing this mod, you agree to nothing. This mod is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. I don't know what to name this topic. Features: Azure and Rock Raiders Turquoise (unused) brick colors Threw in some extra bricks to BB's, JT's and RR's car sets because why not (Note: RR's car set is not essential to this mod) Corrected color issues with the sword, pickaxe, and those three bricks in BVB's car set The shields in BB's car set are now light gray, like they should be (I think.) Menu quality bricks for gameplay cars (studs are still flattened, though.) LPIECELO.MDB and LPIECELO.TDB will no longer be used after installing this, so you can just go ahead and delete them. They're the same as their LPIECEHI equivalents, anyway. Also, the unused turquoise brick color is really only there for you to do whatever with. To install, place the contents of this package in MENUDATAPIECEDB Old downloads that should really delete sometime: https://ore.rockraidersunited.org/legacy/BrickMod_For_LR_828196.zip https://ore.rockraidersunited.org/legacy/BrickMod_For_LR_204703.zip (Incomplete) What the hell has been keeping me from finalizing this for two months?1 point -

Somewhere deep in another part of the world, Drill Master, armed with his weapon of choice aka. "The Composer", prepares for revenge... He sets off to find his target, a certain dragon... I pass to you, lizard. This is my first ever freehand drawing using my laser optic pen mouse. It's not perfect by any means, but it sure beats the last picture I drew. Also, since I'm surrounded by real artists, I probably won't post many times. This alone took me hours to make.1 point -

Lego Time Cruisers comics
aidenpons reacted to emily for a topic
That's quite nice of Hagen to offer to scan the issues if he gets time. I wouldn't particularly expect anything to come of it, but I appreciate that he has been so helpful. So it sounds like what he means is that the time machine in the original comic is what he was originally given? That sounds reasonable, it looks fairly large for a LEGO vehicle of the time in the images (about 12 to 14 studs wide, it looks like). So here's what I'm thinking might have been the story at this point: LEGO and Advance develop a new marketing idea for the 1994 season - time travel between the different LEGO themes. They internally develop ideas around this, creating a wacky DeLorean-esque time machine that integrates parts from the all of the major themes of the time. In addition, they create Max Timebuster, a sneaky, time-hopping villain to be stopped. As a part of all of this, they have Kim Hagen make a comic about the time travelers. He kind of moulds Max into a different character. Meanwhile, LEGO likes how the comic turns out and decides that the entire concept is ripe with potential for a new theme. So they take the existing ideas - a time travelling kid and professor, time machines made of parts from multiple LEGO themes - and develop the Time Cruisers range. For indiscernible reasons, Max becomes Tim Time Cruiser (in line with the theme's name), and potentially the professor undergoes a namechange too. Hagen creates a comic that switches out the original car is switched for the Flying Time Vessel - I can only assume this is the two pages we've seen. I dunno, flying by the seat of my pants here, no way to know for certain yet. But it is fun to theorize.1 point -

Lego Time Cruisers comics

To expand on what I shared earlier: "The original model was quite big with lots of stuff, but its difficault to pinpoint exactly what details where omitted... Ive rarely drawn any of the models very precise. My focus have been that they should "feel" right even though they were simplified...."-Kim Hagen Also, I asked Hagen if he had any pictures of the aforementioned TimeBuster car model, as well as if he had any more old Klick magazine issues, to which he said he has most of the old Klick issues, but he's not sure if he has any images of the original TimeBuster car model, though he'll look. Further, I asked if it would be possible for him to scan or photograph the contents or at the very least the comics from the 1994-1997 issues of Klick magazine in high enough quality for the text to be legible, to which he replied he has very limited time, but if ever he gets a break between projects he'd try.1 point -

Cool that we're getting a game that doesn't have a story based directly on the then-current content of theme it is derived from - that doesn't happen too often. It brings Maze of Shadows to mind - a 2005 game that not only utilized only 2001-2004 BIONICLE models, but was set in a relatively unexplored time period between the proper 2004 and 2005 storylines.1 point -

Sluicer: Wow. You are really good at this. Don't know if it'll be helpful, https://db.tt/NKPmdYCA, archive with two versions of hair_bun_nxg.gsc. From Marvel and Movie. ExtractNxgMESH_200 shows that they are of same versions, have same amount of textures, etc. Header is of different size and values, sure. Also, there is a small difference in size between part 0 data. lu9: Not yet. Models (.ghg, .ghs) aren't interchangeable. In theory, yes, it's possible. Update: Definetely not crc problem with .GSCs. I've somewhat managed to replace storm's cape mesh by batman's cape mesh. File size has changed, but game did load .GSC and didn't crash. Side note. I think, it's possible to load specific txt as characters collection by adding string Collection "collection_name.txt" into stuff/frontendconfigs/default_config.txt. Also, Level Selector can be enabled and defined there as well.1 point -

Thought on Animal and Human DNA exchanging
Quisoves Potoo reacted to noghiri for a blog entry
We already share a lot of DNA with other animals; the more recent the common ancestor; the more the our DNA is identical. So if you take a pig's DNA for a certain protein. You'll most likely find a similar strain in human DNA, in the same 'neighbourhood', and the only difference will be mutations that don't change the shape or function of the protein. Copy and paste the pig DNA over the human DNA, and bingo. WRONG. Not this simple. Copying and pasting involves a specially tailored variant of HIV. In addition, even among similar things, there's a lot of variation in size and shape. Bonobos and chimpanzees are very close to us as far as percentage of similar DNA. Then come mice, and some types of bacterium. It's not quite the nice line taught in schoolyard neodarwinism (which is, in addition, ten years out of date when addopted). Maybe... On a side note, the only practical way to replace a piece of DNA in all cells in the body is when the body consists of only one cell; so right after conception. Correct, but you can also use an HIV variant to go through everything. It just takes time. Humans are animals. It's impossible to change the DNA of all the cells in a mature human body to pig DNA. If you to replace the DNA of a zygote (=a fertilized egg cell) with pig DNA, the result will be a miscarriage, the womb will probably reject the embryo within days of conception. I'd disagree with the first one on one semantic level, namely, we are unique in our abstract information processing ability and I believe this makes it reasonable to seperate humans into their own category for some things. The second is correct, afaik. We've never succesfully tried crossbreeding with our closest relatives, the chimpanzees. Who knows... Some closely related animals can still interbreed, despite having a different number of chromosmes, e.g. zebroids (zebra horse hybrids) The crossbreed would likely be sterile (horse/donkey hybrids, most other hybrids). Also might have some odd or bad organ formation issues. I'm not familiar with biology of LF.Xx.3273, but I'm not aware of a method to replace the entire genome of a human body once it is beyond the zygote stage. For terrestrial organisms this question is currently meaningless. once again, our old friend HIV can do it. It just takes time and could be very very painful. Or fatal. Remember, kids, don't play with HIV! For the experimenter? No. For the experimentee? Yes. Especially because I have a powerful rifle. IF we can turn a human into a hybrid, we can probably just as easily do the opposite. If we can only play with zygotes on this, then... no. If we can SAFELY transition fully grown creatures, then... maybe, but previous caveats on pain and total organ failure apply. Growth rate isn't even synchronised in our own body... Correct, you renew your liver over seven years but renew your skin in far less time. Some 'behaviors' are encoded in the genome (example: knee-jerk reflex, metabolism, biases.) Biases are not genetic, biases are a result of where you grow up, and your culture. I have a bias against eating dogs. This is largely cultural. I could probably eat it just fine. Metabolism is not a behavior, feeling, or memory. Reflexes are... not behaviors, feelings, or memory, either. They are involuntary actions that happen on a very low level, and most still work when unconcious (breathing, hearbeat).1 point
