GeoTool Beta 2 - 18 June 2016 A map viewer/editor for Lego Rock Raiders. Currently it can edit most aspects of a map's terrain, and can also convert the heightmap to and from images for editing in GIMP/Photoshop/Paint. It's written in D and OpenGL. Windows only. You can get the source code on GitHub. It replaces the old Heightmap Converter tool, which was ugly and too badly coded to improve any further. Also, I much enjoyed switching to D, it's a fun programming language. Usage Buttons for creating, loading, and saving maps are at the top right. You can also load by dragging a map's icon onto the GeoTool window. The load and save functions automatically detect the map components by their names, so you only need to open one of the map files; the rest will automatically be detected. They do need to be named correctly though -- as in, contain the words "surf"/"high"/etc. somewhere in their filename. You can view and edit the Terrain and the Heightmap with the tabs under the New/Load/Save buttons. Most image formats are supported for heightmaps. Images are grayscale, with black representing height 0 and white representing height 63 (higher than that bugs out LRR, so no point going that high.) You can move the camera with the keyboard or by clicking/dragging on the minimap. Screenshots New GUI to replace the buggy, gray old one: By default, LRR's radar map colors are used for the terrain: Terrain can also use the textures loaded from LRR biomes. Here's level 23 in terrain edit mode, with the rock biome: Heightmap editor: Controls WASD/Click on map = move Home = reset and center view to the center of the map Arrow keys = rotate camera PGUP/PGDN/+/-/Mouse wheel = zoom camera F5/P = save a screenshot F = toggle the FPS/status bar at the bottom Esc = exit You can load a folder containing textures for biomes. Biome folder paths are saved in the settings.ini file, so you don't have to reload them later on. I don't think it's necessary for players to claim builds with signs, but if they wish to it certainly would help moderators (and other players in knowing where they can build). In future we can ask players if a certain build is owned before taking any action should we have a problem with it. Remember though that if a player hasn't claimed a build with a sign, that doesn't give anyone the right to grief it - be respectful in your building. Leave space between your construction and someone else's, for example. In other news, The Ace Railgun will be stepping down from moderator position. I would like to take this moment to say a HUGE thank you to Ace, as you have done a truly excellent job of moderating on this server since its creation. I would give you a cake but it would probably melt in transit, so a hearty 'three cheers for Ace!' shall have to suffice. Thank you, Ace, and goodbye!5 points -

And now it's time for suspicious posts with Xiron, the part of the game were Xiron comes out and makes, a revealing post. Is that so? Well in that case, since I'm voted off, and you won't let me live in exile but rather die as a result, let me do one last silly act what to show you all what you want to see soooooo badly as a reality. *pulls out waffle shaped smoke bomb* *uses* ESCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPE! *dashes off*2 points -

This is just a "game" idea I had (and many others probably did) and basically, it's like a 'continue the story' Fourm game, except this time it's a song... ...ish... ...depends on what every member throws out to continue the song. The song for this "game"; 12 Days of Christmas RULES; - NO inappropriate/offensive content please - Play each part in order! Do not go back or skip ahead in the song. If you post something that happens at the same time as the person who posted just before you, please edit your post Note: you don't have to make a post per day. It doesn't matter if we go over 12 days. You can also make more than one post just as long as you do not double post of course. That's that, let's begin; *ahem* "#On the 1st day of RRU, Cyrem gave to thee...#"1 point -

Are you using RGB emulation? If you are, don't. It's never helped anybody. If you don't know what that is, don't worry. that explains a lot Nevertheless, it looks fairly valid.... RRU doesn't condone illegal downloads but at the same time, you aren't going to be shunned for doing so. Your third screenshot looks interesting and I've no clue why it's there. Did you put it there or was it in the download? If it was in the download, delete it (but not permanently just in case) as I'm almost certain it's unnecessary. Maybe I'm too much of a Grammar-Nazi, but what do you mean here? Are you talking about a Hard [Disk] Drive or a Driver? And as for the second sentence....? Also, it might just be that level: try adding -testlevels. To do this: Create a shortcut to LegoRR.exe Right-click the shortcut and select "Properties" Go to the Target section and ADD "-testlevels" , without the quotes. Run THAT SHORTCUT. (Also, you may get a Mode Selection Display popup: just tell it to use the default settings: Direct3D HAL and Fullscreen) Try some of the other levels. Also, have you modded your game at all? No? Nevermind. If you HAVE, it's probably an error in your .ol. Any errors, even the "LegoRR.exe has stopped working..." Windows thingy or is it just a straight CTD (Crash To Desktop)?1 point -

Review: 97076 Covenant Weapons Pack
Drill Master reacted to Phantom Terror for a blog entry
97076 Covenant Weapons Pack Review by Phantom Terror Photo Review The Covenant Weapons Pack is a small Mega Bloks Halo set that was sold in 2013 as a "booster pack" or "expansion pack" for your Halo universe. Today, I will be analyzing it and comparing its part quality and versatility to similar LEGO pieces. The Box The box isn't really anything special. It showcases the set on the front and back with the standard legal info on the bottom, back, and sides, with the Halo and Mega Bloks logos scattered around the box. A "Build and Combine" feature is also advertised on the front and back of the box. Something interesting about this type of set is that there is a window where you can see the figure, the weapons, and part of the terrain plate, so you can see if any of the important pieces are broken, malformed, or simply sub-par. The Contents When you open the outer shell, you get an instruction booklet and a tray of pieces. The terrain plate, figure, and weapons are all held in like a standard action figure. The little bits and bobs you use to build the weapon rack come in a small baggie. The instructions aren't anything special; they show you the set, how to build it, and begins to show you how to build the combo model. The building pieces contained are lovely, the dominant colors being metallic purple and translucent blue. A lot of these pieces are very similar to LEGO pieces, and I'll go into detail about each one. Curved 1x4 Slope This piece is similar to LEGO's in shape and size, but it only has connection points for one elevation as opposed to LEGO's two, making LEGO's design more versatile*. 2x2 Slope This piece is identical to LEGO's in every aspect except for the stud shape. 1x4 and 1x2 Plate, and 1x4 Tile Again, identical pieces. Modified 1x1 Brick with Stud on one side This piece is similar to two of LEGO's pieces, one with the recessed stud, and the one without. The piece has space for a stud on the back, bottom, and front, with a hole in the front stud, and a cavity on the top stud, so you can attach a variety of pieces to them, making Mega Bloks' piece more versatile*. 1x2 Jumper Plate with One Stud Similar to LEGO's design except for the fact that the stud has a hole instead of a stopper, and that there is no peg underneath like LEGO's. Despite the lack of peg, it still has as much clutch power as LEGO's design, but the hole in the stud makes Mega Bloks' design more versatile*. Modified 1x1 Plate with Vertical "C" Joint Similar to LEGO's design, but I think that Mega Bloks' design is more versatile* due to its round shape, which allows rotation. 3mm Clip Not as similar as some of the other pieces, but the small clip design allows for more space to be used by other pieces, making Mega Bloks' design more versatile*. The translucent blue that LEGO and Mega Bloks use are very similar, if not the same. If you looked at them from a distance, you wouldn't be able to tell which was which. Also, despite what many people say, the clutch power on the pieces is the same as LEGO's, as is the quality of the plastic, even in the translucent and transparent pieces. The parts are also compatible with LEGO bricks, with the exception of the 3mm pegs, which are a bit loose in the hands of LEGO minifigures, 3mm holes, and "C" joints. *These are my opinions and observations, not fact, and you're free to openly disagree with them. The Figure and Accessories With this set you get a dark cyan Covenant Storm Elite, a very beautiful figure and my second favorite Elite type (to the Zealot). The detailing on the Elite is beautiful, the designers of this figure packed as much detail as they could into it. Some notable details include the mouth armor, eyes, and armor detailing. It does the game model justice. The Storm Elite comes with three weapons: a Storm Rifle in metallic purple and dark grey, a Plasma Repeater in metallic purple and dark grey, and a Needler in pink, metallic pink, and dark grey. All three weapons look fantastic, and are certainly worthy additions to your army. My only complaints about the weapons is that the storm rifle is weird when it's being held, and that's because the 3mm bar was placed lower than where the trigger is. I would've also liked to see an Energy Sword and/or a Plasma Cannon or some sort of mounted turret. The Elite feels kind of overwhelmed when compared to the Forerunner Weapons Pack and UNSC Weapons Pack which came out at the same time. The Build The build is very simple, but for a $6 set, it isn't that bad. It's recognizably a Covenant structure, utilizing the standard metallic purple and translucent blue to create a smooth-looking weapon rack. The weapon rack can hold all of the weapons included, so you don't have to worry about finding extra storage for the weapons that come in the set. Rating Design: 9 / 10 Quality: 8 / 10 Fun: 6 / 10 Price: 7 / 10 Final Verdict While the Covenant Weapons Pack is great for army builders, it's not a good set for standalone play and instant fun. It's just one of those things that just sits there and doesn't really do anything. Sure you can imagine the Elite getting ready for combat and fighting off a battalion of UNSC Marines, but it's still not as fun as it would be if you had the Marines. The price point is a little bit steep for something this size, but it's not too unreasonable. There are more pictures viewable in the Flickr Gallery. You can also view this set on Mega Bloks' website. Unfortunately, the set is no longer in production, but if you're into army building and find this set, I do recommend getting it.1 point -

Yes, misinformation can cause unnecessary deaths. That's the challenge of the game. The challenge is what makes the game fun. Unnecessary deaths are exactly what you the players, not the host, are trying to avoid.1 point -

When Seaborgium was Mafia, he, in a desperate gambit, duped Maelstromislander into voting for someone (I think it was you) by claiming to be the Detective. Mael, after Xiron's subsequent death, reveled to all and sundry that he had been duped, and it was curtains for Seaborg. No one objected to his little ploy then, so I'm pretty certain that we've simply accepted that the Personal Messenger is a valid extension of the game.1 point -

I know about these problems, but that is intended to be totally unrealistic as game physics sometimes are. The lifepoints bar isn't fully green because the Rock Raider sitting in the sleigh took a nap while some dynamite exploded 3 ft away. This looked weird So I thought a little more brown would fit well1 point -

I have been looking in the sdb and gdb files now, too. When you simply look in the gdb file for the CR character in the GAMEDATACOMMONS folder (CRPELVIS.GDB) you will get something like this: If you also look into the PELVIS.SDB file (same folder) and respect the bones structure you may get somthing like this: I think this is a good start for HD meshes. I had also a look into the corresponding files in the MENUDATACIRCUIT1 folder (GUY1.GDB & GUY1.SDB) but I have still an issue with the overlapping vertex lists:1 point -

What's this? Somebody is starting a LEGO fan game by actually working on the backbone of the game for once, instead of making a wikia site and concept models in LDD cruddy drawings and textures in MS Paint? Yay! (Not that all projects are like that, but man, there sure are a lot of cruddy LEGO Universe fan games out there at the least...)1 point -

I don't have time to check it out now, but it looks like you actually know what you're doing, which is fantastic. I want to see this project continue, which is more than I can say for a lot of the fan made/remake games that are proposed on the forums.1 point
