I'm home. I'm geeking out. Here's some pics. Proper scans coming whenever I can get my hands on a scanner. It's all UFO stuff, but while I haven't translated the German, I think it might just confirm my MOCanon about the story ties between UFO and Insectoids. Did I mention I'm geeking out? Folder (once it's public) The comic book and a Chamon minifigure for scale There's an ad printed right inside the comic book, and then an insert that was glued to it The ad The front of the insert The insert begins with some character bios (alternate pic) Some story info that I'm itching to translate The next two pages are a comic Looking familiar, eh? A puzzle Set advertisements The back of the insert4 points -

Holy what the Insectoids are defunct UFOians Zotaxians, apparently? This is so freaking great. Somebody at LEGO thought about this and implemented it. Why do they keep all of these awesome stories so hidden behind the scenes?2 points -

Rock Raiders: Cavern Run Merry Christmas to everyone at RRU! On this special day, I have prepared a little present for you all: Cavern Run, a web game based on the arcade games of the 80s. Weighing in at just over 3MB (a bit larger than the sizes available back then, but meh), this game places a character designed by you, using the character creator at the beginning, into a long cavern filled with deadly hazards and rewarding Energy Crystals. Jump, shoot lasers and blast sonic at the obstacles in your way to make it as far as possible and gain the highest score, all while your running speed gets increasingly faster. With an excellent soundtrack by @Shadowblaze, an addictive-yet-simple gameplay and competitive working leaderboards, Cavern Run is sure to make this Christmas (and beyond) a special one! Play Now Cavern Run Requirements - Web browser with Adobe Flash Player (please ensure to allow data storage before you play the game) - Keyboard Instructions The game is played using the up, left and right arrow keys. The game will guide you through the menus and gameplay mechanics. At the character creator, pressing Jump while on the Head selection will begin the game. Crystals earn you 10 points each, Slimy Slugs earn you 30 points each and Rock Monsters earn you 50 points each. After you are defeated, you may enter your name using your keyboard (Backspace deletes characters, Delete will not work). Please do not use offensive or inappropriate names or your score entry will be removed. It is recommended that you use your RRU name or similar (there is a 10 character limit) to identify yourself to others when viewing the leaderboards. When you have finished a game, press the orange Reload button at the top-right corner of the screen if you wish to play again. In full screen mode you will need to refresh the page instead. Please note that you may have to click on the game screen a few times during the menu if the keys do not respond, this is an issue with Flash. Running LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts without a Disc
FeebTube reacted to Cyrem for a topic
Got my copy of Island Xtreme Stunts today I made this. Running LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts without a Disc is quite simple actually. By default the game keeps all it's data on the game disc. So doing this will make it run without the disc. However you will need the disc to copy data from. 1. On the disc, copy the folders titled 'cd' and 'cdc'. You'll find these in the "LIXS" folder on the disc. 2. Paste these folders in the directory you installed the game to. 3. Create a shortcut to 'Game.exe'. This is the LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts executable. 4. Open the properties of the shortcut and change the target to: "C:\Program Files\LEGO Interactive\Island Xtreme Stunts\Game.exe" "C:\Program Files\LEGO Interactive\Island Xtreme Stunts\cd\" "C:\Program Files\LEGO Interactive\Island Xtreme Stunts\cdc\" Of course you will need to adjust this to the location on your computer. But the basic format is <Game exe path> <cd folder path> <cdc folder path>. You'll have to make sure you write ou the full path like above because when I tried a relative path the game just froze. And that's it. Enjoy.1 point -
New skybox screenshots
aidenpons reacted to Noob Slayer for a topic
So there was a mod posted for new skyboxes, and I figured I'd download it. It is fantastic (shout-out to Creator!!) and makes the game so much more enjoyable. Except for Royal Knights Raceway and Knightmare-athon - I felt that the yellow/orange skyboxes were really out of place, so I did a little tweaking myself: RKR got the old Pirate Skull Pass skybox (I think it's more fitting - when I think knights, I think Middle Ages. Dark and ominous times) and Knightmare-athon got the updated Ice Planet Pathway skybox (again - it's dark and ominous). If anybody wants me to upload the track folders or my JAM archives as a whole, let me know in the comments!1 point -
I have it, but i also have bad news.

Find "To configure LEGO Island". Run it as an administrator. Choose a graphics mode other than Direct3D HAL. Run the game as an administrator. If it still doesn't work, run configuration as administrator again and choose another mode. Repeat until you've tried all three besides Direct3D HAL.1 point -

What are everyone's opinions on a new Enderdragon fight? Though for this fight you don't just immediately skip to The End, you'll have to locate it and fight your way through the many dangers first. I've restored an undiscovered stronghold and added all kinds of traps and loot. You will start off with an empty inventory (your XP count doesn't have to be reset, I don't advise it either), and you'll have to take a trip to the starting location on the surface. There you will find a chest with some useful items. The entrance to the dark depths where the stronghold is located is hidden, along with other points of interest essential for gearing up before going down. Therefore you are supplied with a map to locate those places. You should participate in this event in a pseudo-adventuremode way. You may not harm the environment or break apart the stronghold. Ores an stone may be mined, but you'll have to find the 'hidden' materials first to be able to do so, as you do not start off with a pickaxe (or sword, or food, etc.). You are of course free to craft with anything that ends up in your inventory this way. I've divided loot over the chests, enough for up to 8 players at a time, so there is a restriction for the amount of players in this event. Therefore it is useful to stick as a group to make sure everyone gets his part of the loot at any time. Start off as a group, descend as a group, beat that dragon as a group. However, I need someone with moderating powers to reset the dragon though. tl;dr: Enderdragon fight anyone?1 point -
Cavern Run

If I may point out; Playing more than half an hour of this game (well, for me anyway) messes up your perspective (basically, things on your desk, including the monitor, start to look like they are moving to the right), so when you are done and you experience this I suggest about 10-15 minutes of resting to bring your perspective back into order. This weird perspective change is possibly caused by looking at the moving background and foreground for too long, but I'm no doctor so its just an assumption. I'm not saying all of this to make people stop playing the game, I'm just wanting to point this out, @Mael, there seems to be no way to access the scoreboard other than play the game. Possibly the easiest way to view the scoreboard is play the game, kill yourself at the first obstacle , put a space where you input your name, press jump (A.K.A The up button) and you'll see the scoreboard that way.1 point -

The sprites would work if the URLs were valid. <img class="head"src="imgshead5.PNG"> It should read <img class="head" src="imgs/head/5.PNG"> Also note the space between the class and src attributes. O.T. I knew I should have gone ahead and created the leaderboard viewer anyway. EDIT How many times do I need to say it? My name is not Le Vee. It's not like we have an influx of new members right now. Nobody is going to be confused if le717 is credited but such a name technically does not exist at the moment.1 point -

Thank you for the hint. I did not know that way. But I was looking for a technic to make images like that Jimbob made (e.g. here: ). From the front and in a really good quality. Maybe there is a special technic? Yes, I think so. Here is a comparison of the original model and the one from the LDD (with LDD colors): I am still not sure, if the studs should appear or not. Here is another compare (the LDD file seems to contain not the exact same model): The colors of the triangles are not always the same due to the gradient brushes used in the game.1 point -

Imperfections Make You Human
aidenpons reacted to Jimbob for a blog entry
What a lovely story that really conveys the concept behind it. I agree, although I suppose I'd word it a little differently, depending on how you define 'imperfection'. We all have imperfections, some we can iron out through actively trying while others are innate issues that we must learn to cope with or will take time to remove. Regarding innate imperfections, having them doesn't mean you can't utilise them. Maybe you've been through trauma and consequently sealed off your emotions, is that imperfection purely bad? No, it grants you assertiveness and the ability to be stronger in making difficult decisions. I guess my point is I don't think we can make light of all our imperfections - e.g. if you have a constant desire to murder, as an extreme example - but those that we can't are usually the ones that can be 'fixed', otherwise yes you can make good use of your bad imperfections.1 point -

My Christmas isn't over yet, we're having more family over tomorrow. But what I got so far: A Pokemon Phantom Forces booster coin combo All 3 Pokemon World Championship 2014 Decks 3 Minecraft guide books (for advanced creations and redstone) How to Train Your Dragon 2 soundtrack Mega Bloks Halo UNSC Rockethog vs Anti Aircraft Gun set A safety kit for my car Some candies And the last thing I got that I plan to give you all a nice demonstration of soon, My new Casio Privia PX-150 full size 88 key Electric Piano My parents really suprised me with this one. They told me it was a workbench for my brother. I was so happy to see this. My dad and I saw this in a shop several months ago, but it was too expensive. My mom said the look on my face was priceless. As for what I gave, to my mom was a large stuffed tiger that she saw in the store, that she fell in love with. For my dad, A multi tool hammer (he loves multi tools) and for my brother, I got him Minecraft for his computer. I'm gonna go over there and help him set up his account sometime today and we'll LAN play a world together. This was a special Christmas for me, especially for the Piano. Thanks Mom and Dad! Also, thanks to all of you guys as well.1 point -
LEGO Awesomeness

It's one thing to do whimsical magic houses in 2 dimensions on a piece of paper. A person who can do that well is considered a good cartoonist. It's an entirely other thing to render such a reality defying house in 3D, physical reality. A person who does that is a genius.1 point -
