Previewing the .MIP directly from Explorer.exe

I've never been told this, and never knew about it before, so I assume it is not well known. So here I am to share my knowledge! Unfortunately, I believe this is for Windows users only. Anyhow... Ever wanted a easier way to preview the .MIP files than from a viewer? Well, I've found a way! However, Windows Vista & 7 support is not mentioned. A user of those, please let me know how it works out for you okay? You'll need: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sagethumbs/ *Funnily enough, this borrow's XnView's library, which is the program I was using before. 1) Install it 2) Open Up The Options (you should be able to find it in Start Menu search) and add "mip" to the customs area. 3) Press Ok and wait for it to finish its stuff. Reboot of explorer.exe may be required. You should now be able to view all MIP files directly from your windows browser like so. Enjoy!

How to excersize your creativity when you have nothing to do

Alright, let's say you are in some sort of situation or place and either feel you have nothing to do or are just bored, you can "excersize" your creativity. First of all, look for something that catches your eye. It could be furniture, architecture, etc. Now you've seen it, think of how you could recreate it in Lego Bricks, you don't really need a pile of bricks in front of you, just use your mind. It doesn't matter if you are thinking in terms of Minifig scale or real life scale, just as long as you are thinking how you can put together the object/room/etc, then you are at least using your creativity to think of not only how the bricks connect to make that fascinating shape you need to make, but also what works and what doesn't. And best of all, when you think up a Lego impossibility, you can rethink it without having to take time to deconstruct a real model. If you are done, and still have time, you could do it again but with a different object. I'm posting this up here because I don't think I can fit it into a Profile Feed. Still, I hope this is interesting to other people.

How to excersize your creativity when you have nothing to do

Fun Fact: SNOT building helps a lot if you're going to a small scale, and if you are, 1x1x1's with studs on all four sides are one of the most valuable pieces around. just thought it could be helpful

E3 - "Lego Island(?)" scene disscussed

Uh... Did you read the topic you got that link from? It's not an early version of the game. It's just a short animated video they made for E3. The game itself was not shown. Also, that image of the island was a sort of stock promo image they also used in magazine advertisements and such. So now we know what was going on at E3 to some degree. It would be really nice to be able to see that animation.

Warning: This will steal your IQ points. Yes, those are bricksterbot cats. Everyone wants me to give the infomaniac-hatty mix a wat face even though that didn't look right when i tried it. I think that either i take drugs and i don't know it and i make this junk or i'm just crazy. Probably both. At least this makes more sense than Valiant Creed: The Myst.

    Custom Vehicle Over Pre-Built

EDIT: Use this tool instead! Alright, before we get started, the first thing you must know is that this DOES require knowledge of using a Hex editor, unless of course someone programs a tool. I know Hex editing isn't an easy thing ( or so you think. Did you even try? ) I am willing to port people's builds over to pre-builts for distribution so long as your construction is of quality. Things to know before we get started: Pre-builts are located in /game data/car builder/worldname/filename.CCD Customs are located in GameSave, in which afaik the dirrectory is /Documents/Games/LEGO Racers 2/Saved Games/ (if different for you let me know!) 1) Alright, so first off go build your majestic car in game, and then save it, and once you are done, return here. 2) Open your GameSave and any pre-built vehicle of choice in your desired Hex editor (for those asking, I myself use HxD). 3) Copy any of the following blocks of data and paste/replace over to the pre-existing file are you're good to go! P.S. Yes, the AI racers do use these pre-builts as well. Offsets to know: Sandy Bay: 94C-C3F Sandy Bay 2: C40-F33 Arctic: 20EC-23DF Arctic 2: 23E0-26D3 Dino Island: 388C-3B7F Dino Island 2: 3B80-3E7E Mars: 502C-531F Mars 2: 5320-5613 Xalax: 67CC-6ABF Xalax 2: 6AC0-6DB3 (there are more, but should I really bother?)
