"L'Supervivere": A Steampunk MOC.
Wognif and 6 others reacted to Ayliffe for a topic
L'Supervivere Over the course of several years during the great industrial age, this mechanical suit was created by the lesser-known Professor Stewart Phoenix out of disused parts scavenged from various scrapheaps and abandoned factories around the outskirts of Victorian London, hence L'Supervivere's rather cobbled together and complex appearance. The original and sole purpose of L'Supervivere was to be used by Professor Stewart Phoenix to protect his family and his estate, Phoenix Manor, from destruction, but over the years this technical monstrosity was also used for several other suitably vital causes, such as fixing leaks in the Manor's roof and rescuing cats from trees. The most notable alternative use of L'Supervivere was during a lengthy voyage abroad, in which it was used to navigate the treacherous rainforests of the Amazon and defend a party of explorers (including Professor Stewart Phoenix himself) against any threats they may have encountered. At the end of Professor Stewart Phoenix's long and fruitful life, he proclaimed in his last will and testament that L'Supervivere would be passed down to his eldest and only son, Dr Joseph Phoenix, on the sole condition that it mustn't be used for any type of criminal activity and that at the end of his life, he should also pass on L'Supervivere to his eldest son, and that this son should pass it on to HIS eldest son, and so on until what is only described within Professor Stewart Phoenix's will as "The end of all days", but so far no-one has been able to fully understand the meaning behind this choice of words. Mysteriously, after being passed down through several generations L'Supervivere and the Phoenix bloodline completely disappeared from public view in the early 1920s. It is still rumored that L'Supervivere still exists in its original form to this day, but the location of the suit itself and it's rightful owner is currently not known... More images on my Flickr. Holy bellowing steam Batman, that's one awesome behemoth! You've integrated different types of parts together in one mech so beautifully... I see this as the Steampunk version of the LEGO Ideas Exo-Suit kit. Nice one!2 points -

The races are being selected on a semi-random basis. I chose to put Arctic before Mars deliberately because space is cooler and you've got to save the best for last, yo Though I guess in a literal sense, it's the Arctic that truly is cooler2 points -
LEB Files
Cirevam reacted to Sluicer for a topic
I had a chance to look closer in the LEB files. And this is what I found out so far: The file has six sections: k_28 // face definitions k_29 // positions (3 numbers) k_2A // normals (3 numbers) k_28 // uv-map (here I am not sure) k_2C // connection database (here I am not sure either) k_27 // part meta With the information I collected I am able to extract or generate parts. Here is a sample (L241900): The most cryptic part is in the first section (k_28 // face definitions). I will try to give you more detaild information tomorrow.1 point -

Welp, here's another music for ya! A Drumstep track, with chiptune sounds, guitars (a couple of which were recorded by me), and a brutal drop like in my classic Dubstep/Drumstep stuff. So, hope you'll enjoy! I've had a lot of fun when making this track. http://youtu.be/XMA_qEJuLc4 Listen on SoundCloud: NOPE1 point -

Make the LMS Explorer take the Lasers back! GET MAD!! "I DON'T WANT YOUR DARN LASERS WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE!?" DEMAND TO SEE CHEIF MAKE HIM RUE THE DAY HE THOUGHT HE COULD GIVE BASE 31 LASERS DO YOU KNOW WHO WE ARE!? WE ARE THE RAIDERS THAT WILL BLAST YOUR HOUSE DOWN* *WITH THE LASERS! I'M GOING TO GET MY ROCK RAIDER ENGINEERS TO INVENT A NUKE LASER THAT DISENTIGRATES YOUR HOUSE DOWN!! (Oh lord, that was too big ) (I swear I didn't expect size=7 to be THAT big) (Free Gold to whoever shoots me first for my stupidity and abuse of the /size BBCode) If for some reason you want all the timestamps:1 point -

LEB Files
Cirevam reacted to Sluicer for a topic
I am sorry. I did not found enouth time. So here is a little cryptic information: LPIECELO.LEB: k_28 [29057] k_29 [2000] k_2A [979] k_2B [547] k_2C [1830] k_27 [161] k_29 expects 2000 values but there are 6000 numbers. So this invites to create 2000 3D vectors: the positions. There is no position twice! k_2A expects 979 values but there are 2937 numbers. This also invites to create 979 3D vectors: the normals. There is no normal twice! k_2B expects 547 values but there are 1094 numbers. This invites to create 547 2D vectors: maybe uv-map data. k_2C expects 1830 balues but there are 3660 numbers. This also invites to create tupels. k_27 defines the 161 parts (parts, assemblies and chassis) that are contained in the file. For each part there are a name and 4 values (a selection): Cylinder 2048 0 16 0 L241900 5001 2 80 93 [...] L300200 5005 29 12 695 L300300 5006 36 12 737 L300400 5007 41 12 779 [...] s00003 5046 179 36 2978 s243200 5051 188 26 3201 [...] sspider 5190 827 40 16159 [...] VVCHAS0 22 1768 150 28437 I think the values are: an internal id offset in k_2c number of triangle definitions in k_28 offset in k_28 For example: L300200 5005 29 12 695 Part 3002 (Brick 2x3) internal id 5005 offset in k_2c: 29 - since there are tupels in k_2c we have to look at the numbers from 2x29=58 (top and bottom is hypothesis): 2 // Matrix x 3 // Matrix y --> x*y = 6 --> next 12 values contain data for this part 131 // x = 1; y = 1 bottom 128 // x = 1; y = 1 top 131 // x = 2; y = 1 bottom 128 // x = 2; y = 1 top 131 // x = 3; y = 1 bottom 128 // x = 3; y = 1 top 131 // x = 1; y = 2 bottom 128 // x = 1; y = 2 top 131 // x = 2; y = 2 bottom 128 // x = 2; y = 2 top 131 // x = 3; y = 2 bottom 128 // x = 3; y = 2 top number of triangle definitions: 12 (a brick has six sides --> 12 triangles) offset in k_28: the definition for the triangles starts at the 695th number (I have reorganized them; first numer is always triangle type; p is position, n is normal): 0 25 4 69 75 // normal side triangle p1 n1 p2 p3 (normal is for all points) 40960 72 // normal side triangle but use p3 p2 from previous and new p4 (normal is the same as previous) 0 77 1 74 76 40960 73 0 69 5 25 73 40960 76 0 74 0 77 72 40960 75 1 72 3 69 74 // normal top triangle p1 n1 p2 p3 (normal is for all points) 40961 73 // normal top triangle but use p3 p2 from previous and new p4 (normal is the same as previous) 2 75 2 77 25 // normal bottom triangle p1 n1 p2 p3 (normal is for all points) 40962 76 // normal bottom triangle but use p3 p2 from previous and new p4 (normal is the same as previous) More to come1 point -
