I bet you are all wondering "Why is a new bedsheet worthy of a blog on RRU?" I'll show you why. It started when I got my thieving little hands on a Rock Raiders promotional poster via TradeMe (the NZ equivalent of eBay). It lay unused for... six months? until my mother had the brilliant idea to make it into a bedsheet with her own two hands (and the sowing machine). And voila! I got the result for Christmas. ;D Okay, it's not actually new as per se, as I got it for Christmas. However, it's new enough and in any case is probably worthy of a blog on RRU-*deleted* As for the poster itself, I got it off TradeMe as I said earlier. Where it came from I've no idea, but it was probably for a shop.

Since it's now the story year of Drome Racers, 2015, I decided to play the game again. (It works great on my Windows 8.1 x64 PC with an Xbox One Controller for Windows!) Then I wondered whether anyone ever made the in-game-only vehicles. >Someone else on here asked that question, and I gladly registered in order to see the answers. Unfortunately, I didn't see any rendition of the Torq Racer, so I made one in LDD. As time allows, I plan to re-create these models from Drome Racers in LDD, in this order: Pulse Concept (finished--see >this post; reference screenshots; old MLCAD model) Cow (finished--see >this post and >this post; built per MaelstromIslander's request) Dune Striker (finished--see >this post; reference screenshots) Stealth Roadster (finished--see >this post and >this post; reference screenshots) Tremor (finished--see >this post; reference screenshots) Hornet (finished--see> this post by MvdL95 and >this post by me; reference screenshots) Tsunami Street (finished--see >this post; reference screenshots) If the model you're looking for isn't listed above, chances are it was released as an official model or official alternate model in the summer of 2002. Feel free to use my reference screenshots to make your own renderings and/or real-life models of the in-game-only Drome Racers models. I plan to build one (and only one) of those models in real life. As for which model and which color... that's up to you! You may select the model in the poll above. After I have posted all the renderings, I'll announce the winner from the poll. (In the event of a tie, I'll either add a tiebreaker poll question, or if that's not possible, I'll decide the winner myself.) Next, I'll see which colors I can make the winning model in, based on available parts (I won't paint elements if they're not available in a certain color). Then I'll either add a poll question for the color or decide on the color myself. Finally, I'll post a link to a separate topic for the real-life model. EDIT 3/8/2015: In accordance with >this post, I have decided to build the Hornet in Metallic Green. Here it is. Without further ado, here is the Torq Racer! I wanted to use flexible axles (like the model in the game) rather than flexible cables, but due to limitations in LDD, I had to choose the latter. Rest assured that if this model gets built in real life, I'll use flexible axles. I'm not too sure about how the steering mechanism is supposed to be built, so I would appreciate any suggestions. Well I've got two weeks left in my Christmas vacation and I need something to do. Something fun. So I asked myself, "what are fun things?" and immediately to my mind leaped the RRU Racers tournament of a while ago. So let's have a LEGO racing tournament! Since we've already had a fair bit of fun with LEGO Racers, this time around we'll give LEGO Racers 2 a spin. Anyone reading this can enter, so long as they have a copy of the game to enter with! HOW TO PLAY: There are six rounds. In 24 hours I will post in this topic announcing the beginning of the first round, including the answer to the crucial question "what track is the first round on?" You will then have the next 24 hours to race around the specified course IN TIME ATTACK MODE to your heart's content. Upload a video of your best time to submit. "But Pereki!" you say. "How can I record my race?" If you don't have recording software on your computer already, I recommend Open Broadcaster Software. It's free, fairly straightforward and records LEGO Racers 2 like a charm. If you need to cut parts out of the video you make, try the free trial version of VideoPad if you don't already have video editing software. Once you've got your race recording ready, upload it to YouTube as UNLISTED and PM me the link. If you'd rather upload the video to an alternative host, that's fine too, just make sure it can't be found by any of your fellow competitors. They're all lying cheaters! Once the 24 hours of the round are up, the times of all of the competitors will be announced, and you can make public your recording at your leisure. To change things up from the official RRU Racers competition, we're going Mario Kart style (see how much i know about racing) as opposed to elimination style - you get to compete in all of the rounds, and are awarded points each round according to your placing amongst the other competitors. THE COMPETITOR WITH THE MOST POINTS AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE COMPETITION IS THE WINNER. 24 hours after the end of a round, the next round will commence. COMPETITORS THAT DO NOT SUBMIT AN ENTRY FOR A ROUND ARE NOT ELIMINATED, BUT ARE AWARDED ONLY 10 POINTS (equal to a last place ranking). HOW TO JOIN: Post in this topic saying you want to join! Um yes. As a semi-active player (school has kept me off) and supporter of the server, I have some remarks and questions that I believe all players should know the answers to. Why? Your exact words to justify this plan is to "renovate the town", but why are you renovating? Is it to remove clutter? Beautify the town? Reduce lag? Are you starting a neighborhood association and we must pay due and conform to crazy rules? What is the exact reasoning, purpose, and goal behind this plan? Why removal? Do you not value that player's work that it must be totally and completed destroyed with fire and brimstone leaving no evidence it ever existed? Is it an eye-sore? You said you and Arth came up with the building list. While I trust your judgement (primarily Arth's, as I am not very antiquated with you yet RR Rocks (nothing personal, we just haven't met up any )), I do think more perspective is needed on what should be (re)moved and kept. While everyone and the moderators have built on the server, I do think the mods and other community members can come up with two or three more players (one may be a mod) who can be (not too terribly) bias and more objective in determining what should change and go. What was the criteria for determining the building list? Size, location, user activity, future nefarious personal plans? Plan implementation note: You stated you want to use MCEdit. With the demise of Bukkit, the server is a vanilla server, and as a replacement mod sever software has not been found (see the last few topic pages), MCEdit is not available. Personal question: what were the exact reasons you two decided Box Jr. should be removed? As a concerned player, I believe I and everyone else who has their creation marked for (re)moving should know why.
