Unofficial LEGO Racers 2 Competition

The results are in. Smash n' Bash is a short course. There are no tricks to it, no sneaky maneuvers to make, it all comes down to pure speed. I could give you all individual comments, but that wouldn't make much sense. You all went fast, and the result is a very close round.4 points -
BIONICLE RETURNING 2015

Only nine episodes? Laaaame. But these episodes are still super great. Tahu's walking in, all "Hello, I am Tahu, and I am now your leader" and Kopaka's all "nope" and Gali and Onua are all like "yeah okay just get over it" and Pohatu is all like *loner* and Lewa is all like *jokes*. Just like old times. Except the Pohatu part. And LOSS fares about as well against the Toa as would be expected. lol'd pretty hard at Pohatu plowing through everyone else and getting a web in the face. The only real disappointment here is that we're past the point where we could reasonably expect to see more Skull Spiders and Lewa didn't get controlled - noone did, in fact. And then the zombies came. Pohatu points out that shrine in the middle of the bridge but gets ignored. It's going to play into the plot later, I bet. Also, goshdangit why the heck did they credit Greg for "Original Concept?" Dear LEGO, Greg didn't actually do anything for BIONICLE but the comic until 2004, thanks. And there are some erroneous omissions from "Original Story." Alastair Swinnerton, Martin Riber Anderson, and Bob Thompson were all part of the team Faber was on that actually, literally created BIONICLE. Bob was the person that had the idea in the first place, for goodness sake.3 points -

Multo bene! Thanks PerikI! It's always nice when someone goes out of his way to add enjoyment to the lives of others. It was quite the experience, getting reacquainted with LEGO Racers 2's physics. I'm learning how to drive right now, and I must say, the real thing is considerably easier! And of course, a hearty congratulations to Cap'n Golem! You really do know this game inside and out! Cheers, fellow racers!2 points -

RRU Minecraft Server

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh You did read my points, right? We cannot use MCedit period because vanilla server. Also, this is not the same server that you used to play on. You do know that, right? This server hosted by JimbobJeffers has only been around 1, maybe 2 years, and everything was completely lost some time last year (I may be mixing up my timeline a bit), and we are now on v2 of the server. In fact, this is the first MC server I am aware of since becoming very active on RRU, and that's been, what 2.5 years now? Things you knew then on the really old servers do not apply now. This is different hardware, different server, different management, and a different culture.2 points -

HTML5 Rock Raiders Remake
aidenpons reacted to risingstar64 for a topic
Hey guys, I've been a member of this forum and a fan of rock raiders for some time, but I don't recall posting anything up until now. Anyway, I'm in the process of remaking rock raiders in html5 as a way to examine the limitations of and expand upon an html5/javascript port of a game engine I wrote last year building off of pygame. I know that 98% of fan projects and remakes die off shortly after being started so I do not want to get anyone's hopes up to be disappointed. However, I do have quite a bit of game development experience (including some minor programming additions to http://scpcbgame.com/ a game of which I am a big supporter) and I intend to work on this project at my own pace, and see it through to completion, since the amount of content in the original rock raiders game is not that ambitious. Since the game is being made for html5 and all of the source code is in javascript, everything is completely open source. As this is a solo project I'm not using any sort of source control that you could pull and make branches of (sorry about that!) but whenever I make a significant change and find that it hasn't broken any game elements I update the files on my site with the most recent file versions, so you should be able to find the most recent version of the game at any time at [link outdated: see below to play] (although this is my own personal site it was made hastily using a bootstrap theme to demonstrate basic html and javascript knowledge for an internship application some time ago and showcases old projects of mine, so please ignore everything aside from the rock raiders page I linked to). For now, the remake is going to be in a 2d overhead view as this requires the least amount of messing with art assets. Later down the line, however, I would be happy to modify things to use 3d models instead (probably using webgl or some three.js trickery or something). In closing, the main purpose of this thread is to share this project with those who are interested in keeping up with its development. Of course, things are still quite basic as I only recently started this project, and many of the things that need to be changed I am already aware of and just have not gotten to yet, but please feel free to let me know your thoughts, suggestions, or anything else! If you have any questions regarding the way anything is being implemented (raider ai, pathfinding, level data storage, etc..) those are also welcome, and you can explore the code for yourself as well if you'd prefer by selecting a file from the index [link outdated: see below for source]. I love this game and its modding community and hope to get to know all of you over the course of this project's development ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To keep things organized, the most recent version of the game is now located at http://rystills.github.io/rock-raiders-remake/ The source code is available at https://github.com/rystills/rock-raiders-remake1 point -

Confused by all this? Use the tool made by RobExplorien! http://www.rockraidersunited.com/topic/6358-lr2-hex-editing-made-easier/ Want to change Weapon Stats, Camera View, and much more? Well then you've come to the right place! Useful links for calculations: Float Converter Big to Little Endian Converter TIME ATTACK SPEED + GRIP Open your LEGO Racers 2.exe in a Hex editor and jump to the offset 28A2E, you should land on bytes "CC CC CC 3E" (0.4 in float), this is the value. If you didn't land on it, go to the begining of the file and search for "CC CC CC 3E", it will be the 4th result. Speed and Grip share the same bytes, and shield is not included (why would it need to be?). Enjoy your uber fast car without the need of Cheat Engine (which did by the way help me finding this by telling me the value) P.S. While I was messing around, I noticed one of the "CC CC CC 3E" seem to change the scale of something on the menus... FIELD OF VIEW (FOV) Offset is 4A105, the bytes being "00 00 B4 42" (90 in float), if not, search this value from the start of the file, it will be the second one in. Enjoy the change of FOV! CAR BONUS STAT MULTIPLIER (ALL STATS) (fret not, the game calculates as it loads, meaning your adventure mode speed isn't saved in your GameSave file, so the change still occurs even after being maxed upgraded. Oh btw, time trial mode has a stat applied so this affect that too. ? ) Offset is 12FA0C, the bytes being "0A D7 A3 3D" (0.08 in float), if not, search this value from the start of the file, it will be the third result in. Enjoy the new stats changes! BONUS GAME TIME & GOALS ANIMATED MENU BACKGROUND Mystery Bytes Coming Soon ??? Amount of laps and racers set on an adventure track? (This will be tremendously hard, if impossible, as the numbers are so commonly used. It's like finding a needle in a haystack.) Don't ask for gravity, that is controled by the world files, and I haven't gotten my hands dirty in weapons yet, so don't ask about that either. O.T. Maybe someone could program a little patcher tool [that takes input] for all the hardcoded things I find?.1 point -

Ok, I'm currently out of internet and cannot get on until the 4th, but as a Moderator to the server, I say we get all the answers at to what get's moved and removed before we do anything else, and on the 4th, which is the first Wednesday in February, I'll get on and help get things sorted out. Mknecraft now has a clone command that I can use to relocate builds elsewhere, like a basic form of World Edit. But for now, let's get the approval from all the owners of the builds in question.1 point -

Episodes 5 and 6 have been posted in Czech on LEGO's Czech YouTube channel. Look's like come episode sis we'll finally get some more of the backstory we have been clamoring for so much, including how the Lord of the Skull Spiders plays into the story. You can see episode 5 by visiting http://youtu.be/KPqb1u3JuiI, and episode six by visiting http://youtu.be/Kc3xnstQmYQ Also, how long until Kopaka going "weeeeeeeeeeee" at the end of episode six becomes an internat meme?1 point -

12:30??! What happened to 3 PM? I am going to be in a SkillsUSA meeting at that time, and won't even get home until 1:30! Unless I do my laps late tonight (and I don't want to, I've had a long day), I won't be able to enter the final round. Why was it changed? It'll be 3:30 your time, 12:30 pacific. I accidentally wrote the ambiguous PST, I meant PDT, which is an actual time zone and not a wierd fusion of two of them.1 point -
