HUNDRED! by tomorrow!' tee vee here wants to order a pizza but eggface doesnt let him but tee vee here goes ahead and does it anyway when tee vee goes to answer the door, he is horrified to find it is not the pizzaman, but SANIC TE HEGEHOG on the other end! as sonic makes himself welcome, eggman tells sanic to press the conspicuous red button, but sanic was too genre savvy for him eggman insists it doesnt do anything, and presses it himself but nothing seems to happens a moment latter a divine net falls from the heavens above onto dr eggface and 1x1 trans-red studs smite him from the skies and then he dieded the robots chanted something about doorbells and dead witches before proclaiming sanic to be their new leader then the reanimated corpse of mr. lego walks in and says he did some focus groups and found demand to be much higher than anyone had anticipated, reevaluating the number of sets to be a hundred... THOUSAND! BY 9:00 A.M.!!! sanic goes to the scrappy yard (cuz there was no plastic to be found in the factory) and looked and brought back plastic junk they would transform into an even more ghastly plastic junks. it was 1:00 A.M. in the morning, but somehow sanic manages to get all the sets made then mr lego comes in AGAIN and says they did even MORE focus groups, and had to reevaluate the quanitity of sets produced AGAIN to a thousand... MILLION! so he goes back to the scrappy yard and brings back more plastic junks to create even more ghastly plastic junks. it was 8:00 A.M., and they finally had the sets packed into the delivery truck (which had a suspicious resemblance to a certain assembly blockader) and their job was finished so they order a pizza and celebrate until tee vee points out that the delivery blockader was still on the driveway and it was fifteen minutes away from the deadline so sanic gets in the delivery blockader and drives the sets to the tiny store with three seconds to spare. everybody lived happily after, but mostly mr. lego, cuz he jacked up the price on the sets ran away with all of the money4 points -
This was an idea that I had a little while ago that I thought would be a fun community thing to do. I was thinking we could do Minecraft and Terraria let's plays on the RRU servers, and maybe some classic LEGO game let's plays. We could also have our own podcast and other stuff. But I want to hear from you guys. Would this be good/bad and what we would do?2 points

It's an idea. I would like to say that it could work, but I'm not completely convinced. Assuming that enough people would be ready to commit themselves once or twice a week, you would still need some human resources management, which is no easy task. You have to ask yourself: Can I edit videos? Do I know someone who can? Who can organize dates and times? How can deadlines be enforced? How can the team remain motivated, even if views are low to begin with? As soon as you have these things settled, you can consider the idea, I mean, you can wait and see what happens, see how many people can help / want to join in. TL;DR: It's an idea worthy of recognition, but something that might take a while to be established / might not work at all.2 points

HTML5 Rock Raiders Remake

Hey guys, I've been a member of this forum and a fan of rock raiders for some time, but I don't recall posting anything up until now. Anyway, I'm in the process of remaking rock raiders in html5 as a way to examine the limitations of and expand upon an html5/javascript port of a game engine I wrote last year building off of pygame. I know that 98% of fan projects and remakes die off shortly after being started so I do not want to get anyone's hopes up to be disappointed. However, I do have quite a bit of game development experience (including some minor programming additions to http://scpcbgame.com/ a game of which I am a big supporter) and I intend to work on this project at my own pace, and see it through to completion, since the amount of content in the original rock raiders game is not that ambitious. Since the game is being made for html5 and all of the source code is in javascript, everything is completely open source. As this is a solo project I'm not using any sort of source control that you could pull and make branches of (sorry about that!) but whenever I make a significant change and find that it hasn't broken any game elements I update the files on my site with the most recent file versions, so you should be able to find the most recent version of the game at any time at [link outdated: see below to play] (although this is my own personal site it was made hastily using a bootstrap theme to demonstrate basic html and javascript knowledge for an internship application some time ago and showcases old projects of mine, so please ignore everything aside from the rock raiders page I linked to). For now, the remake is going to be in a 2d overhead view as this requires the least amount of messing with art assets. Later down the line, however, I would be happy to modify things to use 3d models instead (probably using webgl or some three.js trickery or something). In closing, the main purpose of this thread is to share this project with those who are interested in keeping up with its development. Of course, things are still quite basic as I only recently started this project, and many of the things that need to be changed I am already aware of and just have not gotten to yet, but please feel free to let me know your thoughts, suggestions, or anything else! If you have any questions regarding the way anything is being implemented (raider ai, pathfinding, level data storage, etc..) those are also welcome, and you can explore the code for yourself as well if you'd prefer by selecting a file from the index [link outdated: see below for source]. Just thought i'd pop in and share what i've been working on. I've pretty much refined my language making method with my latest Conlang: Zh'u. It's much simpler than Thu'll and the character designs where loosely based off the Arabic script. I've also gotten started on making a dictionary for this language so that it can actually be spoken. The dictionary is about .1% complete, i'll post it when it's finished.1 point -

It's not just the color schemes, but the masks included in each set also link them to a Toa, PLUS each one is themed after a zodiac sign that almost matches the element they represent (Taurus is an Earth sign and Gemini is an Air sign, however Sagittarius is a Fire sign and Scorpio is a water sign, but I'll let that slide considering there are no "Ice" or "Stone" elements in the zodiac) With that in mind, I don't think the skull grinder corresponds to the 'fire' enemy, both because his set doesn't include a mask of fire and because he doesn't match up to a Zodiac sign. I expect to see at least two more sets down the line that include masks of fire and water, most likely based on Leo and Pisces.1 point -

Only nine episodes? Laaaame. But these episodes are still super great. Tahu's walking in, all "Hello, I am Tahu, and I am now your leader" and Kopaka's all "nope" and Gali and Onua are all like "yeah okay just get over it" and Pohatu is all like *loner* and Lewa is all like *jokes*. Just like old times. Except the Pohatu part. And LOSS fares about as well against the Toa as would be expected. lol'd pretty hard at Pohatu plowing through everyone else and getting a web in the face. The only real disappointment here is that we're past the point where we could reasonably expect to see more Skull Spiders and Lewa didn't get controlled - noone did, in fact. And then the zombies came. Pohatu points out that shrine in the middle of the bridge but gets ignored. It's going to play into the plot later, I bet. Also, goshdangit why the heck did they credit Greg for "Original Concept?" Dear LEGO, Greg didn't actually do anything for BIONICLE but the comic until 2004, thanks. And there are some erroneous omissions from "Original Story." Alastair Swinnerton, Martin Riber Anderson, and Bob Thompson were all part of the team Faber was on that actually, literally created BIONICLE. Bob was the person that had the idea in the first place, for goodness sake.1 point
