Playing games is really only a quarter of the job, most the work is in the commentary. It has to be high quality and legitimately funny and unscripted... or else it will just be throw into the pile of "can't make it" of which many thousands of LP'ers currently sit. Le717 is right though, MC LP's are way overdone now.5 points

Summer 2015 LEGO Lineup
Ayliffe and 3 others reacted to emily for a topic
Nuremburg Toy Fair just went over and, true to tradition, it took a bit for the new set pictures to start coming in force. There's a good amount of them out and about now, and EuroBricks poster Scarilian has done the community the kindness of collating an Imgur gallery.4 points -

Oh yes, because Minecraft LPs are some of the most original, uncopied, and efficient use of my time! I love watching someone kill their nth creeper in 10 minutes and carry on with their normal server activities! That is so much fun! Come on, this is RRU. More creative stuff than Minecraft LPs can be done. I know it. Those things are as numerous as bad fanfics, and are often done by the same age group, too. I watch few LPs, and Minecraft ones are a type I never touch because they are so numerous and repetitive they have lost all magic they might once have had (not to mention many people own Minecraft these days). Every once in a blue moon I do a LP (if you've never seen my LPs, go to my channel and watch one. Just prepare yourself.). Who knows, maybe that can be a feature. That would probably be better than a Minecraft LP. tl;dr Minecraft LPs are some of the most cliche, overly done video game uploads on the Web. I know RRU too well to know that something more original can be devised if such an "RRU Tube" project ever takes off.4 points

Drome Racers in-game-only models in LDD
Pranciblad and 2 others reacted to Toa_Of_Justice for a topic
MaelstromIslander, I am moo-st pleased to announce that I have finished building the cow in LDD! I tried to get the black and white pattern as close as possible to the official version, but I had to get creative in some places. I also added an udder. Although the official model doesn't have one, I thought it would add to the realism. Click any image for a larger version. LXF File3 points -
This was an idea that I had a little while ago that I thought would be a fun community thing to do. I was thinking we could do Minecraft and Terraria let's plays on the RRU servers, and maybe some classic LEGO game let's plays. We could also have our own podcast and other stuff. But I want to hear from you guys. Would this be good/bad and what we would do?2 points

The Brickster Megamix
MaelstromIslander and one other reacted to PeabodySam for a topic
Okay, I honestly have no idea which subforum to post this in. LEGO Island Discussion? Island Xtreme Stunts Discussion? Heck, even Digital LEGO Creations? It's often been noted by LEGO Island fans that "Brickster Boss", the final boss theme of Island Xtreme Stunts, sounds somewhat like a dark reprise or boss remix of "The Jail" from the original LEGO Island. Rather fitting, considering that both songs are meant to represent the Brickster. What happens if you mix the two songs together? You get "The Brickster Megamix". Or, alternatively, "The Brickster Mixter". Because puns. This is something I first started experimenting on with Dino Attack: Legacy, but I never got it to work right. By the time the mix was eight measures in, the two songs had already fallen out-of-sync with each other, which is the technical reason why I fade the mix out by that point. It didn't help that the recording of "The Jail" was rather compressed and low-quality in comparison to "Brickster Boss". This time, I decided to use the unused higher-quality recording left unused in the game's data. With the crisper audio quality, I found it easier to determine and adjust its tempo in order to match that of "Brickster Boss". "The Jail" is only barely over a minute long, while "Brickster Boss" is over four minutes. As such, I had to loop several sections of "The Jail" in order to cover the length of "Brickster Boss". Since the unused version of "The Jail" has no ending, I did borrow the final notes of the in-game version to end the mix. The syncing still isn't quite perfect and there are some parts where one song overpowers the other, but overall I'm very satisfied with how this turned out.2 points -

Next batch. More likely to come in a few days. I'm going yellow titles because white IS impossible to read on mobile white, at least you have a slight chance with yellow. Hardcoded Things In LEGO Racers 2 [Offsets]
RobExplorien reacted to Fluffy Cupcake for a topic
Confused by all this? Use the tool made by RobExplorien! http://www.rockraidersunited.com/topic/6358-lr2-hex-editing-made-easier/ Want to change Weapon Stats, Camera View, and much more? Well then you've come to the right place! Useful links for calculations: Float Converter Big to Little Endian Converter TIME ATTACK SPEED + GRIP Open your LEGO Racers 2.exe in a Hex editor and jump to the offset 28A2E, you should land on bytes "CC CC CC 3E" (0.4 in float), this is the value. If you didn't land on it, go to the begining of the file and search for "CC CC CC 3E", it will be the 4th result. Speed and Grip share the same bytes, and shield is not included (why would it need to be?). Enjoy your uber fast car without the need of Cheat Engine (which did by the way help me finding this by telling me the value) P.S. While I was messing around, I noticed one of the "CC CC CC 3E" seem to change the scale of something on the menus... FIELD OF VIEW (FOV) Offset is 4A105, the bytes being "00 00 B4 42" (90 in float), if not, search this value from the start of the file, it will be the second one in. Enjoy the change of FOV! CAR BONUS STAT MULTIPLIER (ALL STATS) (fret not, the game calculates as it loads, meaning your adventure mode speed isn't saved in your GameSave file, so the change still occurs even after being maxed upgraded. Oh btw, time trial mode has a stat applied so this affect that too. ? ) Offset is 12FA0C, the bytes being "0A D7 A3 3D" (0.08 in float), if not, search this value from the start of the file, it will be the third result in. Enjoy the new stats changes! BONUS GAME TIME & GOALS ANIMATED MENU BACKGROUND Mystery Bytes Coming Soon ??? Amount of laps and racers set on an adventure track? (This will be tremendously hard, if impossible, as the numbers are so commonly used. It's like finding a needle in a haystack.) Don't ask for gravity, that is controled by the world files, and I haven't gotten my hands dirty in weapons yet, so don't ask about that either. O.T. Maybe someone could program a little patcher tool [that takes input] for all the hardcoded things I find?.1 point -
LEGO Announces Marvel SHIELD Helicarrier
Ben24x7 reacted to STUDZ for a topic
This one had been speculated for months. Finally, LEGO has revealed the SHIELD Helicarrier, seen in 2012's The Avengers and three variants in last year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The set will feature updates to minifigs for Captain America, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Maria Hill for her minifigure debut. There will also be "Microfigures" (Read: "Those minifig-shaped trophies with Marvel printing") of Hawkeye, Fury, Cap, Iron Man, and 8 generic SHIELD agents (Or are they HYDRA??? ) The set can have Power Functions lights and motors added to it (sold separately, of course), and comes with your standard UCS stand and plaque with specs. The Helicarrier will run you $350 USD, $400 CDN, and 270 quid for our friends east of the Atlantic. It will be released officially in March, though VIP members will have access to it as early as February 17. RRU Minecraft Server

Alright guys. Slow it down. With all these huge plans you guys have, and with all the moving, removing, and mountain destroying required, why not just start building in a new area? Maybe make a new town If the old area gets too bogged down and messy, and if a brand spanking new town or other area comes along that is improved, the spawn point can always be relocated, it isn't a fixed point. Ghost towns are always nice. HALT! Only mods and beyond are allowed to write the rules. You are not permitted to paraphrase it at all. Should you think they could use some cleaning up, request a mod or JJ to do it; As someone once told me, re-writing what someone else once wrote "opens [the chance] for personal interpretation".1 point -

Oh you kids these days... When I was in school, if we had something to do and the teacher wasn't there, we did it. Didn't matter if it was group or solo, if you were expected to do something, you got it done. If you finished your work, you were to work on other things quietly. And what of these smartphones and tablets you guys have nowadays? When I was in middle school, there were no smartphones or watching youtube. We actually talked and were social. I didn't have my first phone til I was 16, and all it could do was call, text, and had enough memory to hold 10 songs. I learned that my high school gave everyone tablets this year, and I'm glad I wasn't a part of it. Devices distract the kids from doing what they are supposed to do. I wish all teachers were like my Government teacher. If she caught you with your phone or tablet or whatever at all that wasn't being used for school purposes, she would take it away from you all day. One time she went as far as throwing a kid's phone out the window (Her class is on the 2nd floor btw) because the kid was back-talking her about having her phone out during class. Technology is ruining the younger ages. Our world is going to crumble because the future generations are to busy taking selfies.1 point -

Candy-green CCBS Bones. Heck. Yes. But aside that, I'm not really sure what to think of the new sets. This is a prety good image less than a month into the new year, but I'm going to wait until we get some proper photos before I judge on the new 2spooky4u army. Also, what is THIS? A promo for a polybag? With a trans-orange Tahu mask? And only announced in Europe so far??? Great, one more thing I feel compelled to collect, along with the NYCC clear mask. Speaking of collections, I did it. Other than the clear Tahu mask, I got all of the sets so far. Now to wait until Summer....1 point -

From the album: Fred Cop Game/Film/Whatever Concept Art
Just a few concepts of Achievements, nothing too special... The project has dropped to a crawl and I currently don't have access to my computer to continue it but I sure will. In the meantime, I'm putting my script on hold, as I have found out it is recommended you don't make a game based on an idea, but create a story around what you can make. So that means I'll have to play about with the Blender game engine to see what I can achieve as well as complete the Fred model. Currently, I plan to make a prototype of the tutorial made with simple objects like cubes and cuboids to see what I can do. But again for now, that's an impossibility but only until Friday. Enjoy!1 point -
