I don't have time to watch all of it at the moment, but this reminds me - does the lucky pen have any use? IIRC you get it if you show Johnny's hat to the guy at 11:14.

Drome Racers in-game-only models in LDD

It seems my theory about the Dune Striker being built from pieces of set #8468 Power Crusher was mostly correct. I only needed a couple of half-pins to attach the flex axles. But then I noticed that some of the parts appear to have been edited in the in-game model. For example, the quarter-oval liftarms don't have their curved sections, and the orange liftarm in the middle appears to have been straightened out. So I made two versions of this model. Click any image for a larger picture. Here's the first version, using only pieces from #8468 Power Crusher. Color variants (all possible to build in real life): LXF File Here's the second version, made to look like the in-game model. Color variants (all possible to build in real life): LXF File After I have finished rendering the other in-game-only Drome Racers vehicles, I plan to build, photograph, and post the Dune Striker version made from #8468 Power Crusher in addition to whichever other in-game-only vehicle proves to be most popular. (My real model will have the actual Gali hooks up front instead of those mockup structures.) Next up: Stealth Roadster! jamesster, when you have a chance please provide screenshots of Stealth Roadster. EDIT: Oops, wait a minute! I almost forgot about the TECHNIC/BIONICLE/Hero Factory version of the cow! I'll do that one first, then Stealth Roadster. EDIT 2: dromestars already posted a real life version of this model >here, so I have canceled my plan.

    Corkscrew Icon Fix

I just noticed I never liked how the icon of the Corkscrew weapon (also known as "Drill") doesn't resemble the in-game weapon, colorwise. So I decided to edit it, and make it somewhat similar to the original. Also, there's a small fix to the Corskrew model included in the download, which you may or may not install. It's just a color change of the red stripe on the body to light blue, to be more consistent with the explosion ring. DOWNLOAD: http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/209 It's just a small fix, nothing too fancy, so don't bother me if you think this isn't a good mod.

How is it I have failed to notice the existence of the Lucky Pen, all these years? That seems reasonable. Though I don't imagine it would have made the whole runaround any less superfluous, unless the binoculars were hidden significantly more craftily. If anything, I suspect that's why the pen's part in the game was dropped. No use in frustrating those who found the binoculars right off the bat with too involved of a useless runaround.

    No problem, good luck.

    Weird Issue

Yeah, that'd be a bit much effort just for LRR. It just so happens that I'm getting a pair of older machines shipped to me, one tower/one laptop -- I suppose my best solution probably lies there. Thanks for your help!

    Weird Issue

I don't know of any software that allows version switching unfortunatly. You could try dual booting, but thats a lot of effort for 1 game. Virtual PC, maybe, not many people have success with this on Windows though... so maybe Linux+Wine?, again, lot of effort.

Yeah, new AMD firmware and drivers seem incompatible with RR. I have an AMD R9 series and no dice, bought an old laptop for it instead. You however may be able to install the old AMD catalyst drivers.... I think 13.1 was the last compatible.

Well thats the surely the most strange problem I've heard yet. Do you have an AMD or nVidia card?

    LEB Files

Modified .exe? Two instances of "00 40 1C 45" (2500 float) come up in the .exe when checking big endian, 0 for little endian. One instance of "00 00 40 9C" (2500 hex) come up in the .exe when checking big endian, 0 for little endian. This is in the 2001 version.

    LEB Files

I looked at this with cheatengine. There is a value stored in [0x4c4918]+0x40ec (1999 nodrm), which looks like the amount of polygons. Bricks will start losing textures/disappearing when this value reaches 2500. Maybe there is a way to bypass this limit. However it also looks like the game does have some kind of system to remove unnecessary polygons when stacking identical bricks. When stacking bricks with your studs it also removes some polygons, but almost none in comparison to the added amount. The polygons to be removed might be in the leb files aswell (are there some brick metadata values you left untouched perhaps?)
