Looks like there's been a lot of posting and text to read since I've been gone... If I've got it right, it's been proposed (and to some extent actioned) that some unused builds in the main area are removed to clean the place up? So long as the creators of those builds are happy to have them removed, I'm okay with this. Just don't go willy-nilly destroying other peoples' properties. In other news, to combat the lack of Europe-based moderators, RR Rocks has been promoted to Moderator status! Welcome to the team, Rob. Also, The Ace Railgun has returned to Moderator status too, so welcome back Ace. Finally... It looks like we're owed another round of UHC. Who's up for one some time next weekend or the weekend after?

It's taken a bit of work, but I'm proud to present my latest project: JJ's LEGO City. The sets have been accumulated over the past few of years, but the display was built over the last month for just £80, plus another £80 for the table it stands on (which has 8/16 shelves inside). I'm pretty pleased with that considering that display cases of this size cost far more than that to purchase from retailers. For those interested, it was built with the outsides of an IKEA KALLAX unit and three separate sheets of polycarbonate, a very clear material that is far stronger than glass. The front sheet has been removed, but is easily held in place with four small brackets attached to the KALLAX frame with small VELCRO stick-on coins. The whole thing stands on four more KALLAX units which I was going to get drawer and door inserts for, but they failed so miserably when trying to assemble them that I've returned them all in disgust (and I'm usually quite the IKEA customer). Imagine actually controlling your car in Stunt Rally? Dream come true... well... wish granted. Yes I'm serious. Create a shortcut to _msr.exe Right Click the shortcut and click on properties At the end of the 'Target' path add "/FREEFORM" (without quotes) after the file closing quote. (e.g "C:Program Files (x86)LEGOStunt Rally_msr.exe" /FREEFORM You can combine mulitple parameters such as the no disc one too. Optionally add "/IGTEST" to stop car respawns. It's a little sensitve... but who cars! so much better. Enjoy!

Okay, I honestly have no idea which subforum to post this in. LEGO Island Discussion? Island Xtreme Stunts Discussion? Heck, even Digital LEGO Creations? It's often been noted by LEGO Island fans that "Brickster Boss", the final boss theme of Island Xtreme Stunts, sounds somewhat like a dark reprise or boss remix of "The Jail" from the original LEGO Island. Rather fitting, considering that both songs are meant to represent the Brickster. What happens if you mix the two songs together? You get "The Brickster Megamix". Or, alternatively, "The Brickster Mixter". Because puns. This is something I first started experimenting on with Dino Attack: Legacy, but I never got it to work right. By the time the mix was eight measures in, the two songs had already fallen out-of-sync with each other, which is the technical reason why I fade the mix out by that point. It didn't help that the recording of "The Jail" was rather compressed and low-quality in comparison to "Brickster Boss". This time, I decided to use the unused higher-quality recording left unused in the game's data. With the crisper audio quality, I found it easier to determine and adjust its tempo in order to match that of "Brickster Boss". "The Jail" is only barely over a minute long, while "Brickster Boss" is over four minutes. As such, I had to loop several sections of "The Jail" in order to cover the length of "Brickster Boss". Since the unused version of "The Jail" has no ending, I did borrow the final notes of the in-game version to end the mix. The syncing still isn't quite perfect and there are some parts where one song overpowers the other, but overall I'm very satisfied with how this turned out.

I wish I had screenshots, but when I was a kid, I thought it would be neat to create a living hell out of LEGOLAND that would ensnare unsuspecting visitors and prevent them from leaving. It started with that Boating School, and lots of water. I got plenty of visitors to get on those boats. Once I had two boats on a narrow patch of water squares... I erased everything around that area, effectively trapping them in the boats forever. But that was just the start. I then built a fountain nearby and an ice cream vendor, allowing visitors to watch the scenic display of a group of idiots who couldn't get out of their boats. I put plants and lots of concrete around. Then I created a Driving School, and surrounded the area with roads. I created a massive labyrinth of roads that always had one or two squares in the center for the purpose of trapping MORE visitors. I deleted the crosswalks to trap them, even adding rides to keep them from getting bored so fast. I don't know why, but I felt like a genius who just loved to watch those poor Minifigures suffer in LEGOLAND. Combined with my love of shooting Rock Raiders with those mining turret lasers and surrounding my LOCO town with volcanoes and placing the little bunnies in the middle of the road, I think my childhood is messed up. Has anyone else tried anything similar?

After undergoing extensive modifications, I am proud to present the new RR Research Lab! With new features to compliment its functionality. Overview pics: The lab's main new feature is the pair of containment units housed on both sides. As the name suggests, each unit can be used to house a particular specimen or sample. Through the viewing window, the lab staff can study the growth or behavior of whatever is housed inside. Containment Unit Pics: Last but not least is the lab's new sample analysis chamber, which has replaced the area once dominated by the sonic emitter device. In the chamber, an unknown sample is placed before a analysis beam. The beam then fires at the sample to detect its components. This information is then fed back to the staff, who hope the data retrieved can help them design new technology or weapons to assist the Raiders during their mission. So being tired of the current 8 minigiure mess of parts we have to choose from in the default character builder, I decided to do a complete replacement, character builder icons and all, of all the 8 minifigs, and in an orderly fasion too. So, after 2.5 days and 145 file replacements later with a lazy-butt job on the chracter textbox pics, and a tough battle not to use same colored pants due to the constant character roster changing, here is what I got. As there has been some confusion on what the official name really are since there was no given name outside the files which no one saw until over a decade after the game's release, and everyone has since given them their own name, here are the official names according to the files so we are all on the same page when talking about them. To make this topic less dry, I'm going to copy paste the manual's description under the picture AND name. I'm also going to have this topic open to disscussion on the weapons, as I've already started below the descriptions. Feel free to join in on the conversation. BLOODHOUND This Power-up is a powerful homing missile that finds its target, just like a bloodhound. When you gain this Power-up, you’ll see a target appear on the nearest car in front of you. Press Use Powerup to shoot the missile at this car. The car doesn't need to be directly in front of you – the missile will find its target! Advanced use: Press the Next Homing Missile Target key or the Previous Homing Missile Target key to target the car of your choice then press the Use Power-up key to shoot the missile. This way you can target any car in the game. CORKSCREW This Power-up sends a big rocket with a spinning drill at the front after your opponents. When fired, it will shoot off in a straight line, damaging every car in its path, until it hits the landscape or a building. Advanced use: This Power-up can also be used as a speed-boost. Rather than pressing the Use Power-up key and letting go, keep holding it. Your car will become attached to the rocket and you’ll be dragged down the track until you let go of the key. Be careful where you use this function, as you will have no control over the direction of the rocket. Also, make sure you let go of the key before it explodes, otherwise your car will be damaged. NEMESIS This Power-up creates a spinning whirlwind that drops onto the track behind your car. It will then start growing, but if nobody drives into it, it will disappear after 5 seconds. When a car hits the vortex, it will spin around, out of control, and will be also take some damage. This Power-up can be very effective if you drop it somewhere where it’s difficult for other drivers to see it, such as after a bend. Advanced use: Instead of just pressing the Use Power-up key, hold it down. The whirlwind will stay attached to your car, and as it gets bigger, it will act as a shield, deflecting anything that tries to hit you. But make sure you let go, and drop the vortex within 5 seconds, otherwise you will get caught up in it - you will lose control of your car and it will be damaged too. SHOCKWAVE With this Power-up, all of the other cars in the race will begin deconstructing when you press the Use Power-up key. It will last for 6 seconds, and every 2 seconds, a layer of LEGO® bricks will disappear from your opponents cars! As this Power-up is so powerful, it doesn’t have an advanced use. SLIZER DISC This disc travels in a straight line, bouncing off the landscape, until it runs out of power or hits a car. Advanced use: You can fire the disc at cars that are behind you by holding down the Look Behind key, and then the Use Power-up key. STEALTH This Power-up makes you invisible for a little while. Other players will find it harder to hit you, and the homing missile won’t be able to lock on to you. Also, you’ll be able to overtake other players unnoticed. Advanced use: While in stealth mode, you’ll have the ability to steal another player’s Power-up by bumping into them; don’t worry, you won’t lose any bricks from your car when you do this. To help you choose, you will be able to see an icon of the Power-up that each player is carrying (if they’ve got one) over each car. THUNDERBALL This Power-up creates a bubble around your car, which grows in size until it bursts, unleashing the power of a thunderstorm on other cars! Advanced use: Rather than just pressing the Use Power-up key, try holding it down for at least a second. The bubble will grow as before, but when you let go, it’ll drop on to the track. It will continue to grow, but if another car hits it, it’ll explode (and that car will take double the damage of other cars nearby). The longer the bubble stays on the track, the more damage it will do, but your car will not be affected. But be careful – make sure you drop it within five seconds, otherwise it’ll explode and your car will take double the normal damage. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the shockwave weapon is simply way too overpowered, espesially with how unintelligent the AI for not going to fix their car even if it is exactly half broke, and when the player can easily grab another one of these and simply take all racers out in one blow after they've passed by the only fixing pit in the track, which they would also be too dumb to u-turn back to even if they just passed by it two seconds ago. Over on the Nemeis weapon discription, there are a few incorrect things in the manual that I've noticed: Uuuh, it expires after 5 seconds regardless if anyone drives into it or not...? Also, I may be reading too much into it, but it almost sounded like a given that the vehicle was suppose to take damage. At this state, no, you don't take damage when you go into it, unless you slide into a palm tree or something. Uh, no, it does not act as a shield, I've tested this statement and proved that it is not true.

I just noticed I never liked how the icon of the Corkscrew weapon (also known as "Drill") doesn't resemble the in-game weapon, colorwise. So I decided to edit it, and make it somewhat similar to the original. Also, there's a small fix to the Corskrew model included in the download, which you may or may not install. It's just a color change of the red stripe on the body to light blue, to be more consistent with the explosion ring.
