    JJ's LEGO City

It's taken a bit of work, but I'm proud to present my latest project: JJ's LEGO City. The sets have been accumulated over the past few of years, but the display was built over the last month for just £80, plus another £80 for the table it stands on (which has 8/16 shelves inside). I'm pretty pleased with that considering that display cases of this size cost far more than that to purchase from retailers. For those interested, it was built with the outsides of an IKEA KALLAX unit and three separate sheets of polycarbonate, a very clear material that is far stronger than glass. The front sheet has been removed, but is easily held in place with four small brackets attached to the KALLAX frame with small VELCRO stick-on coins. The whole thing stands on four more KALLAX units which I was going to get drawer and door inserts for, but they failed so miserably when trying to assemble them that I've returned them all in disgust (and I'm usually quite the IKEA customer). Without further ado, here are the rest of the photos of this display. For 6000x4000px versions of these images, see the links at the end of this post. Portuguese Dragons!

So I'm in Portugal this weekend, and whenever I visit foreign lands, I make it a goal to come home with some obscure merchandise from them. This time I'm coming home with a Portuguese dragon... The packaging The contents The Dragon So the thing behind this is that when you buy a 2 euro box of dragon-themed cookies, you get a free dragon figurine with two cards to go with a game that supplements the 5 and a half year old Nintendo DS game Combat of Giants: Dragons. On the back on the package, six dragons are shown. Seems easy enough to collect them all, right? Wrong. There are actually thirty dragons to collect, I'd assume that's five for each of the six elemental tribes. So to collect them all, you have to 1) Have a really good image of something in your brain as you're touching it, and 2) 60 euros to spend on cookies. The dragon I'm not disappointed in. Out of the thirty shown on the promotional pamphlet, its one of my favorites. I got Oclum today, an dragon of air with three attack points in the card game. The description is written in two languages: Portuguese and Spanish. When I asked the almighty Google for translation, it spit out: ""Hawk eye". You can see what happens in enemy lands and that makes him very important. Air dragons have always watching. Nothing escapes his control." (Spanish) ""Vision of falcon". Can observe all the events in the enemy land and it is transformed into a huge advantage. The dragons air guard always. Nothing escapes his control." (Portuguese) So what I can gather from this is that Oclum is an air dragon who observes everything in enemy territory, making him an important dragon. He always guards the air, and nothing escapes his control. Cool. Oclum's made out of a very soft plastic, like the Inika masks from 2006. The paint's done really well, and it's just a fun thing to have on display. A black gem is also included, which I think has game relevance, but for me it's just another piece of plastic. I might be able to use it in a scepter for a MOC though... Now to make a LEGO version..... I actually got this blind pack for free, because I didn't know you had to buy the cookies to get it. So I might buy some cookies tomorrow and get another dragon.

    TUN/PCM Converter

2021 Edit: FFmpeg has added support for LEGO Racers' tun and pcm files as of version 4.4. I advise everyone to use that instead of this program as this program isn't 100% correct. Thanks to mumboking for bringing this to my attention. Original post: Although I had already posted my ima2tun program >here, I've decided that a separate topic might be more easy to find. This zip file contains my ima2tun program tunconverter, SoX, and some handy-dandy batch files that do all the command-line work. To convert any* music file to .TUN/PCM, simply drag it onto the 'to-tun' batch file. It then creates a .tun file with the same name in the same folder. It's also possible to drag a .tun/.pcm file onto the 'from-tun or pcm' batch file to convert it to .ogg (filetype be changed in the batch file) Changelog: TUN files have a fixed sample rate of 22050Hz, but PCM files can have any sample rate. The number of channels in a TUN/PCM file is either 1 or 2. Preview: (old version) Download: http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/346 Note: This download includes a copy of SoX 14.4.2, also available at http://sox.sourceforge.net/. The source code is available at https://gist.github.com/grappigegovert/4cc9424351f8f8998a62a926ccf20b01 O.T.: Is GameIntr.tun used in the game?

I wish I had screenshots, but when I was a kid, I thought it would be neat to create a living hell out of LEGOLAND that would ensnare unsuspecting visitors and prevent them from leaving. It started with that Boating School, and lots of water. I got plenty of visitors to get on those boats. Once I had two boats on a narrow patch of water squares... I erased everything around that area, effectively trapping them in the boats forever. But that was just the start. I then built a fountain nearby and an ice cream vendor, allowing visitors to watch the scenic display of a group of idiots who couldn't get out of their boats. I put plants and lots of concrete around. Then I created a Driving School, and surrounded the area with roads. I created a massive labyrinth of roads that always had one or two squares in the center for the purpose of trapping MORE visitors. I deleted the crosswalks to trap them, even adding rides to keep them from getting bored so fast. I don't know why, but I felt like a genius who just loved to watch those poor Minifigures suffer in LEGOLAND. Combined with my love of shooting Rock Raiders with those mining turret lasers and surrounding my LOCO town with volcanoes and placing the little bunnies in the middle of the road, I think my childhood is messed up. Has anyone else tried anything similar?

    Xiron's Player Characters Set

So being tired of the current 8 minigiure mess of parts we have to choose from in the default character builder, I decided to do a complete replacement, character builder icons and all, of all the 8 minifigs, and in an orderly fasion too. So, after 2.5 days and 145 file replacements later with a lazy-butt job on the chracter textbox pics, and a tough battle not to use same colored pants due to the constant character roster changing, here is what I got. Some Guy [Pack Exclusive] - Xiron Some Girl [Pack Exclusive] - Xiron Sky Lane (with imporper hair) [Pack Exclusive] - Xiron Pepper Roni - Merdon Rock Raider - Xiron Digger - BadDream Veronica Voltage - jamesster Classic Rocket Racer - jamesster Yes I used Steve's face for Some Guy, and Jan's face for Some Girl, but I did complete their facial animations! Who is this Le7els guy you refer to? There is no RRU member by that name. There is an LMB user with that name and is probably active under that name elsewhere, but he joined the LMBs (and thus possible received his name there) in 2011. I, on the other hand, am le717, a name I use in all my online activities. I too received my name on the LMBs, but I received it in 2005. I have in one incident been confused with this Le7els guy, but I have never met him and am certainly not him. This has been your light-hearted Correctly Identify a Person guide for today, brought to you by le717.
