TUN/PCM Converter
bartvbl and 6 others reacted to grappigegovert for a topic
2021 Edit: FFmpeg has added support for LEGO Racers' tun and pcm files as of version 4.4. I advise everyone to use that instead of this program as this program isn't 100% correct. Thanks to mumboking for bringing this to my attention. Original post: Although I had already posted my ima2tun program >here, I've decided that a separate topic might be more easy to find. This zip file contains my ima2tun program tunconverter, SoX, and some handy-dandy batch files that do all the command-line work. To convert any* music file to .TUN/PCM, simply drag it onto the 'to-tun' batch file. It then creates a .tun file with the same name in the same folder. It's also possible to drag a .tun/.pcm file onto the 'from-tun or pcm' batch file to convert it to .ogg (filetype be changed in the batch file) Changelog: TUN files have a fixed sample rate of 22050Hz, but PCM files can have any sample rate. The number of channels in a TUN/PCM file is either 1 or 2. Preview: (old version) Download: http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/346 Note: This download includes a copy of SoX 14.4.2, also available at http://sox.sourceforge.net/. The source code is available at https://gist.github.com/grappigegovert/4cc9424351f8f8998a62a926ccf20b01 O.T.: Is GameIntr.tun used in the game?7 points -
Editing .MIP Files Without Image Viewer
coffins and one other reacted to Shadowblaze for a topic
Are you someone who, like me, doesn't enjoy using tools to make custom textures? This tutorial is going to let you make fully working .MIP textures without using anything, except for an image editing program with the ability to edit .TGA files, which is the only necessary tool. If you want to preview a texture, this is what you'll have to do: Change the texture you want's extension to .TGA. Start up the game, or if the game is already started, trigger any loading screen. Open the folder where your texture is located, and you'll notice that two new files have appeared: *.MIP and *.NOMIP, with * being the name of your texture. This happens because the game encodes all .TGA files to their corresponding .MIPs, if the .MIPs are missing, and then for some reason adds the .NOMIP file. Delete the .TGA file (or delete the .MIP, and change the extension of your .TGA to .MIP. In a few cases, the quality of the original file will be better this way) and change *.NOMIP's extension to .TGA. Now you can open the new .TGA file with your image editing program! Sometimes, this process is not necessary, and changing the original .MIP's extension to .TGA is enough. The image will still be visible. This lets you preview the textures, yes, but it doesn't let you implement an image in-game. How do you do that? Here's the answer: Change the texture you want's extension to .TGA (make a backup first!). Overwrite the texture with yours using your image editing tool. Open the game, or if the game is already started, trigger any loading screen. Congratulations, your image is in the game! If the image is still showing up wrong, I suggest downloading the by WillKirkby, and using it onto your custom texture (make sure it's a png file). This creates some graphical bugs with the texture in-game, but all you have to do is change the MIP's extension to TGA, and open the game.2 points -

Insane Raiders [2022-12-29: Occasional updates are still happening!]
Starrocks923 reacted to Arthuriel for a topic
Update (2022-12-29): I don't know how often I will use this forum, but I just wanted to write that once in a while I still make Insane Raiders themed comics. They are simpler (more like a sketch) and without colour, but they are still full of dubious decisions related to dynamite and landslides! Since I posted those only in Discord chat rooms etc. so far (where they can go under) I wanted to put them in one place and so I added them to my existing Insane Raiders gallery on DeviantArt. I hope you enjoy them! https://www.deviantart.com/arthuriel/gallery/50994783/insane-raiders Note: It can take a few seconds to load all the comics (depending on your internet connection). Hi, this is a thread, where I will try to continue a comic series every or every second week (note: replace week with month(s)). Usually they are based on my experiences with the Rock Raider PC game and the behavior of the Rock Raiders (including a good portion of insanity and exaggaration). Number 1. Dynamite Number 2. LEGO Media Alternate Installers
lovebuny reacted to le717 for a topic
This is a listing of alternate installers created for LEGO Media video games to replace the aging and often-incompatible ones on the disc. This will help you install the game on modern computers. In most cases, they do nothing to actually get the game running. There are other topics that detail troubleshooting each game. This list will be expanded as more installers are written. JJ's LEGO City
Yajmo reacted to Jimbob for a topic
It's taken a bit of work, but I'm proud to present my latest project: JJ's LEGO City. The sets have been accumulated over the past few of years, but the display was built over the last month for just £80, plus another £80 for the table it stands on (which has 8/16 shelves inside). I'm pretty pleased with that considering that display cases of this size cost far more than that to purchase from retailers. For those interested, it was built with the outsides of an IKEA KALLAX unit and three separate sheets of polycarbonate, a very clear material that is far stronger than glass. The front sheet has been removed, but is easily held in place with four small brackets attached to the KALLAX frame with small VELCRO stick-on coins. The whole thing stands on four more KALLAX units which I was going to get drawer and door inserts for, but they failed so miserably when trying to assemble them that I've returned them all in disgust (and I'm usually quite the IKEA customer). Without further ado, here are the rest of the photos of this display. For 6000x4000px versions of these images, see the links at the end of this post. Don't worry. As popular as my channel is, I still sit down and read all (1) of the comments on my videos to see what my fans like. (Yes I saw your comment) Well I'm glad everyone likes it, because I'm going to be setting up a Radio Airplay account with this track to have it played on places like Jango to get my name out there and finally start my music career. Wish me luck!1 point -

LEGO Racers Custom Audio
J Reggie reacted to grappigegovert for a topic
This sparked my interest. I began looking at the original method with SoX, and after some trying, I got it to work. It turns out that the format is IMA ADPCM, instead of VOX, and has a sample rate of 22050hz, with 2 channels. The two channels are merged into one file by using one byte from the left channel, and then one byte from the right channel, and so on. Here is how to make proper tun files: 1) Create two separate ima files with SoX using the commands: sox input.mp3 -r 22050 channel1.ima remix 1 sox input.mp3 -r 22050 channel2.ima remix 2 (input.mp3 is the input file, -r 22050 specifies the sample rate, remix 1/2 is to select 1 channel at a time) 2) Merge the two ima files I made a small command line tool to do this: http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/186 Use it like this: ima2tun channel1.ima channel2.ima output.tun This creates a file output.tun from the two channels. (it also adds the header needed for a tun file) 3) Profit! ima2tun can also be used the other way around (to convert a tun file to two (headerless) ima files) with: ima2tun input.tun channel1.ima channel2.ima1 point -
