LR2 .exe Editor
aidenpons and 2 others reacted to RobExplorien for a topic
See this?: Apparently that Canadian likes to work on a low level when it comes to editing the game, but do you all like those hexadecimal representations and doing a game of trial-and-error just to satisfy your needs of changing game content? If you do, escape this topic right now, if you don't, then you might not be too lazy to download the following... The LR2 Hex Editor is exactly what it says, it manipulates the LEGO Racers 2 executable by altering the hexadecimals of the file. Only this time you don't have to look inside the file and view the raw data, the program does all the editing for you. By using the data that Xiron gathered (see the topic linked to) you can manipulate the contents of the file yourself by just selecting an item like amount of laps in time trial or minifigure running speed and then enter a 'human-readable' value like a decimal number to change the current selected code to. Though be sure to close the program to make all changes go active. Xiron has also made a patch to go along with this release that you can install onto your executable to change game content in one go. The readme included in the download explains more on how to achieve this. You can also make your own patches by first altering the items to your likings and then add the items you changed to a patch you will name. The links below directs you to a mighty deposit of ores, crystals and Java-stuff. The .zip included contains files that should be kept together in their folder in order to have the program not complain about 'missing this' or 'couldn't open that'. The only thing you need to add to the folder is your "LEGO Racers 2.exe". I'm not a well-versed GUI programmer at this moment so the magic happens in the console. Also, since this is the very first time I'm distributing a Java-written program I had some troubles trying to execute the runnable by simply clicking on it. For now you will have to issue a command in the console to start the program (see readme). If the program does not run (or something else goes weird), there is a log file that logs the program activity and errors, so you might want to consult that if things don't work right away. I'm pretty sure there are still good ways to break the program, but be nice to it, don't pick on him just because it's new to you. Download: http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/219 (comes with custom patch, contains...) Source (Eclipse IDE project): http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/220 tl;dr: editing executable in a more user-friendly way, comes with a patch Xiron made to quickly install altered game content3 points -
The "secret" of how to make an RRU Fad

1. Create an account 2. Create a blog containing a bunch of random words and jargon that'll make sense to everyone who reads it 3. Watch as people parody your blog 4. Realise some people hate you, your blog posts and your guts 5. Hope for the Fad to end, only to realise that the Fad will be hung over your head no matter how hard you try and forget it 6. Start questioning if you are Human 7. Find that you only exist to irritate and bug people with unreliable blog posts 8. Suicide3 points -
How to use Finding Nemo to teach your child important values
Ayliffe and 2 others reacted to Mr. Spambot for a blog entry
This blog entry was originally posted by the very legitimate user "simonaannie" in January 2014. It was deleted, but unfortunately a copy was preserved by Crap Boy and his brick building team, Sharkboy and Lavagirl. It is now presented unedited, with the exception of a link removal. Finding Nemo is a great family movie, both my son and I like it. My son even asked me to give him finding nemo plush dolls as presents and rewards. It brings us through the entire range of human emotion – it makes us laugh, cry, scared, excited, hopeful; and it gives us a real sense of adventure. On top of this, there are several positive and important values in Finding Nemo that make great learning points for our children. The first (and most obvious) is the value of obedience. For many of us, it’s a consistent struggle to get our kids to obey rules. For Marlin and Nemo, it wasn’t any different. Marlin told his son repeatedly not to swim beyond a certain boundary in the ocean, warning him of the dangers. But in a show of “I can do it. I’m a big boy now,†Nemo swam toward a boat, ignoring his dad completely. When we set rules and boundaries for our children, they get upset because they can’t have their way. But many of these rules and boundaries are necessary to keep our children safe. Communicate to your child that some rules exist to keep them safe, and we set rules because we love them. Let them know that if they disobey, they will have to live with the consequences. We all know what happens next. A diver caught Nemo and the next thing he knew, he was trapped in a fish tank. Marlin, devastated first by the loss of his wife at the start of the show along with most of his offspring, and now by the physical loss of his son, sets off to find him back. You may choose to stop the movie at this point to ask your child a few questions, or do it after the show (at dinnertime, bedtime, or on the way to school). The second lesson is friendship. Dory, a blue tang, comes alongside Marlin in his search for Nemo. Along the way, they get into some sticky situations such as being chased by a shark, getting stung by jellyfish, and swallowed by a whale. They also meet Crush, a sea turtle who helps them get to Sydney, where Nemo is held captive. Good friends don’t come by easily, so we should cherish our friends. Friends who help when you are in need are friends worth keeping. Remind your child that they should first be a good friend to others, before they expect others to be a good friend to them. Finally, we can identify with the character of Marlin, courage and a sacrificial love. This once-timid clownfish overcame his own fears of the ocean and went through thick and thin to rescue his son. Love is brave and courageous, even in the face of danger. Let your child know that you will be there for them when they face difficult circumstances. Explain to them the concept of sacrifice - giving up something that is important to us. (This is probably a good time to express your love for your child.) From a parent’s perspective, I also learnt that it’s important to know when to let go, and not be over-protective of our little ones. We should allow them more room to learn to protect themselves and take responsibility for their actions, so that they can “grow upâ€. This concludes our blog post. Thank you for your time.3 points -

Another great track, JAL. Why were you rushing yourself releasing it, though? Just take another 30 minutes and make some cover art. Slow down, man. :)1 point -

Not exactly, what we're doing is harvesting these mindless beings for their comedy, disposing of their lifeless bodies and adding said harvested comedy to our super spambot designed for entertainment for your health.1 point -
TUN/PCM Converter
Fluffy Cupcake reacted to grappigegovert for a topic
So, I did some more research, and it looks like the only difference with pcm files is that pcm files can have any sample rate instead of a fixed 22050Hz. I've updated the program to support pcm files. I have also tried adding the sample rate to the header of a tun file like in a pcm file, but that did nothing.1 point -

Hydraxon, Master of the Pit
STUDZ reacted to Phantom Terror for a topic
"Welcome to the Pit..." Well. Here he is. My entry for BBCC 69. I had a lot of fun building him, trying to make him look as much like Hydraxon as possible while keeping with the theme of the contest. I chose to downsize him due to a lack of parts and a fear that if I made him too tall, he would be either too gappy/lanky and/or his legs wouldn't be able to hold his torso. I hope you like him as much as I do. (Some votes in the contest would be nice too.) ][ Flickr Gallery ][ ][ BZPower Topic ][1 point -
