RRU Quotes 2: Reckoning
Ben24x7 and 5 others reacted to mumboking for a topic
I cut out the extra timestamps... @ Starrocks923 : (21 February 2015 - 11:11 PM) Alright, so is LEGO Racers 1 or 2 better? I got a copy of the big bog LEGO Racers 1 with green CD, CD case and green manual for about $20, and it installed perffectly. @ le717 : (21 February 2015 - 11:30 PM) LR1 and LR2 are two totally different gamwa *games LR1 is more kart racing LR2 is WHAT DID YOU DO THAT FOR, PHYSICS?????!?!??!? LR1 is spamming warp powerups LR2 is "Oh, we're going to 'borrow' this shield generator, hope he doesn't miss it..." LR1 is racing on tracks LR2 is more "AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH I HIT ANOTHER PALM TREE" or "AAAAAUUUUGGGGHHH I FELL OFF THE CLIFF" LR1 is short start and ending cutscenes LR2 is "SHUT YOURSELF UP, SPARKY, OR I'LL SEND YOU TO GALIDOR". As you can see, they are totally different games. So just pick one and play it.6 points -

Post Your LEGO Libraries - TheAceRailgun Part 1 (My apartment collection)
STUDZ and one other reacted to The Ace Railgun for a blog entry
Just thought i'd pop on and share my current LEGO collection since everyone else is doing so. That bag behind the Hobbit hole set is a Y-wing, then I also have a special edition Rocket minifig from Toys R US, a gold minifig keychain, a chewbaca keychain and an Indiana Jone keychain. And the tub that says LEGO is full of minifigures. I also have 3 sizes of the Slave 1 And here are some more sets. The Ghostbuster set, the Exo-Suit, the VW van, Falling water, and a Minecraft The End set. I'll have to post the rest when I get to my parents house, as most of it is still there. I'll also give closeups of my minifig collection in the second part.2 points -

I've made a few posts on RRU, but I decided I would introduce myself here before becoming more active. I'm really excited to become part of this community; amazing work is being done here. That being said, I know next to nothing about programming and computers. My area of expertise is music and sound (as I am currently a music composition major in college), so I hope to use that to contribute to this community. I have just started on a large project which I have been wanting to do for a long time. I was a big fan of the music in Lego Racers as a kid, and have recently been working on a multi-faceted project involving it. My first goal is to create transcriptions of each of the .TUN files, replicating every note. Then, I will create playable piano reductions (for solo piano) of each piece. I also will try to create arrangements for the full instrumentation of each piece. My final goal is to make a version of each of the files using high-quality samples, so that higher-quality (in instruments, not in sample rate) music can be used in Lego Racers. I have no idea how long this will take, but I have been meaning to do this for a long time, so I definitely will go through with it. If people are interested, I would like to keep you all posted on my progress. What is the best way for me to do that? Should I create a new topic in the Lego Racers discussion? Is there an external site which I should host my files on so as not to clog up the bandwidth/resources of this site? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to interacting with you all in months to come, --J ®eggie2 points -

Howdy Reggie, welcome to RRU! You're a musician, huh? Good, we are in short supply of those here. I look forward to your recreations. As @aidenpons has (rightly) already suggested, I am one of those most unfortunate people known as a programmer. I have done my best to get aiden here to learn Python, but he has been Scratching his heels toward my proposition. I'm highly busy right now, and cannot really teach anybody programming, if you'd like to test the waters I would be happy to send you risk free my personal getting starting with programming plan free of charge to help test the waters. If you don't like it, just stop. You get to keep the materials and the knowledge you acquired. Too late, I already observed it.1 point -

Shadowblaze reacted to Jimbob for a topic
That was a pretty climatic ending for what was a great round of UHC! At the end of the round, Arthuriel and Shadowblaze were left to battle in the centre of the map. Arthuriel had the high ground while Shadowblaze carefully made his way up, until a sudden change in circumstances reversed their positions. Moments later the competitors collided in combat, and Shadowblaze emerged victorious! Congratulations on your victory Shadow, and commiserations to all who took part. I'll try and put together another of the fancy leaderboards for this, but in the mean time have this little thing. Hopefully I got everyone's names in the right order. It's now uploaded here. A video of my point of view in addition to the final battle will be uploaded soon can be viewed here.1 point -

At time of post, UHC Round 3 is mid-way through completion, but I thought I'd attempt to summarise the round in my perspective; (Just you wait until you see me release an unedited version of my recording, then you'd get the joke)1 point -

[03:31:50] Jim Brickkeeper: Huh. You can cause a minifigure to keel over with a seizure by tapping on them in LEGO Fusion. [03:32:14] Jim Brickkeeper: Oh wait, [03:32:29] Jim Brickkeeper: I'm sorry, you can cause them to laugh. [03:32:41] Jim Brickkeeper: Yes, laughing, that's it. [03:33:01] Jim Brickkeeper: You can cause them to keel over laughing. [03:33:11] Jim Brickkeeper: Laughing. And just for reference in 10 months' time: [03:33:20] Will Kirkby: guys I want this on record: [03:33:26] Will Kirkby: LegoOrange is going to be the Star Wars 7 game [03:33:49] Will Kirkby: either a standalone or a 7-9 compilation game but I'd wager a standalone [03:34:06] Will Kirkby: in august 2013 Disney did this: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Orange_Harvest --- snip --- [03:34:26] Will Kirkby: in oct/nov 2013, Lego Marvel arrived with the first known occurance of "LegoOrange" in the game executable [03:34:28] Noghiri: I'd wager a 7-9 compilation, that's how LSW1 went, so did LSW2 and LSW3 --- snip --- [03:34:42] Will Kirkby: it's appeared in every TT game binary since with seemingly no finalized game [03:35:15] Will Kirkby: every other notable franchise has had its codename accounted for by me, so it seems logical that Star Wars 7 is going to be LegoOrange. [03:35:37] Will Kirkby: I'm now going to post this in the quotes thread so we can look at how right I was in 10 months' time. Lego Time Cruisers comics
I Am Not Here reacted to Sadie Meowsalot for a topic
Thomas Warming (illustrator for the Time Cruisers boardgame) sent me some things recently. Among them are some sketches for some of the boardgame cards, and some conceptual drawings of a LEGO restaurant he designed. Time Cruisers boardgame card sketches: LEGO Palace Restaurant: "I also did a lot of concept development for lego in the 1990's for Lego Futura. All the work I did for lego was through a danish advertising agency called Courage except for the concept work, which was direct. I also did concept design but that was done in a lego-look meaning cars and stuff but they wanted me to draw it so it looked like real cars and not lego - that way they could focus on elements they liked and try to convert that into the lego-look so all that stuff is not really lego work unless you know. Sadly back in the day all original material was owned by the agency or Lego and not the artist."-Thomas Warming1 point -
