[3:20:01 AM] Alcom Isst: You know those moments where the big bad wants to use a thing but the big bad's scientists that are working on the thing are all "Nooooo, it's not ready yet!", but the big bad is impatient and goes ahead and uses the thing anyways but the thing ends up having a flaw and the big bad fails because of it? That's like the opposite of Rockstar with Grand Theft Auto V. [4:06:54 AM] Alcom Isst: Do I look eldricht to you? [4:07:06 AM] /)¢( Krysto: is that a trick question?2 points -
Bmp Files
Jimbob reacted to Sluicer for a topic
Here it is: http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/231 You will just have to extract the archive. It is a .NET 3.5 console application. You can either drag and drop files on the exe or use the console: ExtractBMP.exe "<file>.BMP". The output will be a .bmp file and at the same location as the input file but with the extention .BMP.bmp I added a lot of debug outputs to the tool, so that it should be easy to find possible gaps. Currently the tool can not convert all files. It can not handle files where the width is not matching the stride (!?!). There are only a few files like this. Mostly font files. I hope it works.1 point -
The LEGO Movie Discussion Topic
Ben24x7 reacted to Ayliffe for a topic
Nah, we've known about TLM2 (or as it's now known, TLMS ) being put back to 2018 since the original announcement of The Lego Batman Movie taking it's place in 2017. So in case anyone hasn't been keeping up, here's the full schedule of Lego films over the next couple of years or so: 2015: Diddly squat. No really, I got nuthin'. 2016: The Lego Ninjago Movie 2017: The Lego Batman Movie 2018: The Lego Movie 2 Sequel 2019 and Beyond: Nothing's been announced yet, but it's pretty much inevitable that we'll get more films as long as none of the others become a major box-office flop.... EDIT: According to Brick Fanatics a "TLM 4D experience" thingy will be launched at various LEGOLANDs at some point in the near future. The article also states that they're working closely with Warner Bros to create it, and it will be a brand new short. I'm guessing that it'll be animated by Animal Logic since they've done a TON of other promotional stuff since last year's release, and if so I'll be looking forward to seeing it...1 point -
Hello to all!
Ayliffe reacted to J Reggie for a topic
I've made a few posts on RRU, but I decided I would introduce myself here before becoming more active. I'm really excited to become part of this community; amazing work is being done here. That being said, I know next to nothing about programming and computers. My area of expertise is music and sound (as I am currently a music composition major in college), so I hope to use that to contribute to this community. I have just started on a large project which I have been wanting to do for a long time. I was a big fan of the music in Lego Racers as a kid, and have recently been working on a multi-faceted project involving it. My first goal is to create transcriptions of each of the .TUN files, replicating every note. Then, I will create playable piano reductions (for solo piano) of each piece. I also will try to create arrangements for the full instrumentation of each piece. My final goal is to make a version of each of the files using high-quality samples, so that higher-quality (in instruments, not in sample rate) music can be used in Lego Racers. I have no idea how long this will take, but I have been meaning to do this for a long time, so I definitely will go through with it. If people are interested, I would like to keep you all posted on my progress. What is the best way for me to do that? Should I create a new topic in the Lego Racers discussion? Is there an external site which I should host my files on so as not to clog up the bandwidth/resources of this site? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to interacting with you all in months to come, --J ®eggie1 point -
RRU Minecraft Server
le717 reacted to Jimbob for a topic
Goodness me, the last several pages of this topic (disregarding posts on UHC) have seemingly derailed into a "griefing" fest*. This server was intended to be an RRU-away-from-RRU sort of deal, a place for us to game outside of the forum, and hence I expected it to have a friendly atmosphere. I would very much like to keep the rules relaxed but this can only happen if people are considerate of each other's constructions. Lately there has been a rise in griefing cases and if this continues I will simply add a greater restriction on the sign-up requirements, so that only people we know and trust a little more are allowed on, but I've wanted to avoid this as it feels a little elitist. Come on, ya'll, it's as simple as this: Did you build it? If no, leave it, or ask about who did before doing anything. PM preferably too, if possible I'd like to keep this topic a little more focussed on important topics such as UHC. *Not necessarily complaints about griefing, but certainly very cautious attempts to avoid it. Sounds good, although uploading a screenshot might be better.1 point -
LRR Pictionary
Ayliffe reacted to Ben24x7 for a topic
During the previous section of RRU Pictionary, I had to go have dinner, which is why there was a bit of a gap where I hadn't posted anything. In the aftermath I was surprised there was a KSP related suggestion, so here is my later than late reply to this suggestion;1 point -

RRU Quotes 2: Reckoning

I cut out the extra timestamps... @ Starrocks923 : (21 February 2015 - 11:11 PM) Alright, so is LEGO Racers 1 or 2 better? I got a copy of the big bog LEGO Racers 1 with green CD, CD case and green manual for about $20, and it installed perffectly. @ le717 : (21 February 2015 - 11:30 PM) LR1 and LR2 are two totally different gamwa *games LR1 is more kart racing LR2 is WHAT DID YOU DO THAT FOR, PHYSICS?????!?!??!? LR1 is spamming warp powerups LR2 is "Oh, we're going to 'borrow' this shield generator, hope he doesn't miss it..." LR1 is racing on tracks LR2 is more "AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH I HIT ANOTHER PALM TREE" or "AAAAAUUUUGGGGHHH I FELL OFF THE CLIFF" LR1 is short start and ending cutscenes LR2 is "SHUT YOURSELF UP, SPARKY, OR I'LL SEND YOU TO GALIDOR". As you can see, they are totally different games. So just pick one and play it.1 point -
