Thanks! Okay. So here is my first idea. Simply called "RRU Game 1", it is a track composed with the GameBoy in mind. That means it uses sounds similar to what you would hear in a game from that time. I figured since we're making a game and all, why not start from there, then work up if requested. See what you think. Mind you this is a rough track, as it hasn't been fine tuned yet. Hello, As a thank-you to the community here for helping me get the game running again on a modern PC, I'll be posting some images from the development of the game. I'll start at the very beginning: the pitch! The following images were created as we were pitching the game to LEGO Media. The original concept was pretty clear from the beginning: it was LOCO meets Micro Machines. We iterated on these images as you'll see below. The original name and logo we whipped up for the pitch. The game kept the name for much of the development period. Probably the very first mockup. Here we are just exploring the view angle, car size on screen, what kind of information to show on screen, that sort of thing. UI Mockups Some vehicle ideas. The original pitch included quite a bit of customization to the car - the player would be able to tweak springs, rubber bands, tyres, etc. for optimum car performance. Character profiles - we all loved the punk guy from LOCO. Early ideas demonstrating the in-car camera view. First sketch for the workshop. More to come!3 points -

Thanks rio, that's brilliant! I'm not sure if you plan on making a ground, but whatever the case I'll probably draw up a temporary one when I make the first level of the game. What I said was that we should focus on making just one level, and not have any expectations to go any further. That way when we do achieve this small goal we can all be extremely proud of what we've accomplished, no matter how little it may be in contrast to the big games out there. And once that's done, if people are still up for it, there's no reason why we can't move onto a second level! I like it, it's a very nice little looping tune! As for the instruments, if you're able to use modern ones that would be excellent and we can compare the two (the visuals are modern in contrast to old 8-bit games, so it may be more suitable). Also are you able to send me this track (or the new one if you change the instruments) as an MP3 file? Awesome work everyone, truly. Once I have the music and sound effects sorted, I'll get to work putting together the level. On that note - Xiron, are you able to find some sounds any time soon? If not that's absolutely fine, rioforce offered to help or I could grab some myself, but if you can that's great.2 points -

That's right peeps, a mod for LR2 that makes NPCs talk without the need of subtitles to understand! A test I did just to see how it would work out can be found here. Anyone can join, so long as the following guidelines are followed. Guidelines: Recording should be in 44100 Hertz or higher (remember, just because you can record in that hertz, doesn't mean the sound quality is equivalent to it). Recording should be no less than 192 Kbps Preferred file format: .wav; Secondary preferred is .mp3. You can voice as many characters as you like. You have two weeks to voice the character after you pick it. If you need an extenion let me know with reason why. I'm not going to stop you from picking a character someone else already claimed, in the case two or more people want to do the same character, they will have to compete by uploading a voice clip of the character, with a line said from the game (I'll pick if multiple), and the community can choose who's voice they like better for the character. Please think responsibly and know if you would have a proper voice for the character before going: OHMAGAWSH I WANT TO VOICE DAT CHARACTER!!! List of Characters + Actors (yes, I pulled this from >my post in the Racers wiki topic. ) Questions and Answers: Q. What is XXX? And how do I deal with XXX when voicing the line? A. Be creative. XXX is where the player name use to be. Do your best to make sound great, and ask here for suggestions if you need any. Q. How will you deal with player references? A. We will use gender-neutral surnames instead of the name you choose for your character. Example, Sparky may call the player (XXX) buddy, and challengers may call the player newbie, and other higher rank as the game progresses, just to name a few. There are a lot more things that can be said than just these. Please avoid using "player", if you can. Q. Do I need to own the game to help? A. Nope! I can provide the lines you need to say. Just use the images linked with the character so you know what the character you are acting for looks like. Q. Can we expand or improve the lines if they are too shallow? A. In short, yes. You will have to use part of the original line though, and the majority will need to approve of the change. Note: You also have to keep within the game's targeted audience, so don't use any words you wouldn't hear them put in the game. Q. When will this be released? A. When we are done. There might be alpha & beta releases as the mod progresses on though. Q. Can you keep me updated of progress? A. Sorta. So Mythrun/Ariistuujj made a nifty program thingy that I personally call the LEGO Universe Anti-Anti-Haxinator. It generates the string(s) the game uses to determine if a file is "legitimate" or not, thus allowing you to add/change the live game's assets... Er, dead game's assets. It's fun.1 point -

Excellent redesign of the tune DM, I definitely think it's a lot better now. Having the old loop in the background is a cool idea, but it kind of sounds like fuzz to me? Like it's all a bass line that's distorted. I don't know, maybe I'm not hearing it right.1 point -

@Pereki: No, I'd never seen the punk minifig, but you're right, his design was probably inspired by "our" punk. @MaelstromIslander: The name change came from LEGO, and I don't recall the reason they wanted to change it. @Jamesster: Yeah, I don't know why we didn't put Eamon the skeleton (I seem to recall all the skeletons in Loco were called Eamon?) in LSR...1 point -

Colourfulness is due to lack of parts. I can't fix that. The shield was designed more as a buckler. I probably should have used a round bit for that... I agree on the sword. Beige connector doesn't really matter, because of how the part is it can't rotate anyhow. There's a 2 stud rod (that sounded way less dirty in my mind) that acts as a pin in that leg-piece.1 point -
