BIONICLE RETURNING 2015
Starrocks923 reacted to ProfessorBrickkeeper for a topic
It's the Mask of Creation! Actually, no. In the video, the seventh mask shown in the center is the Skull Spider mask, which was given away in that multi-site building competition. That said, at the Flatiron BIONICLE event, they did have a real gold Mask of Creation on display in addition to the ones shown in the video, minus the Skull Spider mask, so there are actually eight gold masks total, and seven currently up for grabs (or should I say six, as they didn't show the MoC in the video, meaning they may intend to hold off on giving it away until this summer.) (Did I really just correct Pereki on something BIONICLE? I sense this may come back to bite me...)1 point -
Drome Racers in-game-only models in LDD
Toa_Of_Justice reacted to dromestars for a topic
Today I finally finished the Torq Racer. Here`s what it looks like: I decided to use red parts, making it look just like Katu`s car in the game. Team R.E.D. Building this car was like a childhood dream coming true... @Toa_Of_Justice: I think I`ll stick to the outer cables, as the soft axles won`t allow you to mount the headlights. Things to be done: replacing the borrowed parts, getting connectors in the right colour and finding a way to keep the red RoboRaider head in its place1 point -

Drome Racers in-game-only models in LDD

In my digital verson of the Torq Racer, I used the outer cables only because the 19L soft axles (part #32235) I wanted to use weren't flexible in LDD. If you have 19L soft axles, feel free to use them instead of the outer cables.1 point -

Another LEGO Movie? This is getting out of hand. The first one was a success, but who knows if Ninjago, Batman, or TLM2 will fly? They might be getting ahead of themselves here... We can only hope...1 point -

I loved The LEGO Movie, but honestly, this is the forth announced future movie. I'm really hoping for something different here. The title sounds like some sort of movie chronicling the history of LEGO as a company, which would certainly intrigue me. Or, alternatively, maybe this is the anticipated Johnny Thunder spinoff.1 point -

I saw the cover of DOOM Island i made a long while ago, so i decided to make this. (NOTE: The red water is NOT blood, its supposed to be lava, but i couldn't color it orange without coloring the whole image so i just left it red.)1 point -

I could never say no to another LEGO movie, but it does feel like they're going a little bit too fast. They made one film which everyone loves, now they've started work on four more? Let's just hope they're as awesome as the first LEGO movie, and Warner isn't getting too big for its boots.1 point -

Bvb Files (Collision Meshes?)
Quisoves Potoo reacted to Sluicer for a topic
No I rotated it. The render from the previous quote is mirrored. I am sorry for the confusion. I was wrong. Connected to the triangles of the node we have once again a plane that divides the track (here the colliding infos) into to sections. If the car is on the one side go to the left node otherwise go to the right node. If you reeach a -1 there is no colliding of you reach a -2 there is an error. It is the same in the checkpoint files. But there you will have to be very carefull. As far as I can tell now the planes have to be defined so that they will not cut one of the remaining checkpoints! Is there still someone who would like to crate a custom race track? Yes because of the tree. Here is a screenshot of the first version of a CUSTOM TEST TRACK! It is only a plane where you cannot fall of. I just replaced the main file of the test track, so that you can still see the environment of the original track.1 point -
Bvb Files (Collision Meshes?)
CaptainGolem reacted to Sluicer for a topic
In another thread there was a discussion about the bvb files (I do not know why). Since I did a little more research on them I think the content should be referenced here: I had a first look at the .BVB files. I looked into two COLLIDE files. There are vertices without additional information and triangles with additional information. I was able to create the following images with the data from the 34 and the 2d sections: The test track The 8e section fills the rest of the file. It looks like the Binary Editor could not handle dynamic (unknown) structures. I am not able to interprete the content of the 8e section yet. There are always a variable number of integers followed by 4 shorts (except the last group of integers). Here is an extract from the TESTCOLLIDE.BVB Please remember: 0x04 is an integer 0x17 is a struct that was defined in this file 0x14 is an array with 0x__ 0x__ entries of type 0x__ [...] I had a closer look at the k_8e section. And the data in that section also seems to describe a tree (I have no idea why!). 7 numbers per node: pointer to left child (when -1 no left child) pointer to right child (when -2 no right child) x y z offset triangles number of triangles x, y and z are mostly really big numbers (between 0x40000000 and 0xC0000000 (=-0x40000000)). When you divide them by 0x40000000 you will get a normalized 3d vector. I think it is something like a normal or here a colliding direction(?). I changed the values to RGB and got the following image for the test track: I already have a working replacemant (a simple box). I am not falling through the ground but I am falling over the edge :-(. Maybe it is because of the tree!?!1 point -

JJ's LEGO City
Yajmo reacted to Jimbob for a topic
It's taken a bit of work, but I'm proud to present my latest project: JJ's LEGO City. The sets have been accumulated over the past few of years, but the display was built over the last month for just £80, plus another £80 for the table it stands on (which has 8/16 shelves inside). I'm pretty pleased with that considering that display cases of this size cost far more than that to purchase from retailers. For those interested, it was built with the outsides of an IKEA KALLAX unit and three separate sheets of polycarbonate, a very clear material that is far stronger than glass. The front sheet has been removed, but is easily held in place with four small brackets attached to the KALLAX frame with small VELCRO stick-on coins. The whole thing stands on four more KALLAX units which I was going to get drawer and door inserts for, but they failed so miserably when trying to assemble them that I've returned them all in disgust (and I'm usually quite the IKEA customer). Without further ado, here are the rest of the photos of this display. For 6000x4000px versions of these images, see the links at the end of this post. Lego Time Cruisers comics
I Am Not Here reacted to Sadie Meowsalot for a topic
Thomas Warming (illustrator for the Time Cruisers boardgame) sent me some things recently. Among them are some sketches for some of the boardgame cards, and some conceptual drawings of a LEGO restaurant he designed. Time Cruisers boardgame card sketches: LEGO Palace Restaurant: "I also did a lot of concept development for lego in the 1990's for Lego Futura. All the work I did for lego was through a danish advertising agency called Courage except for the concept work, which was direct. I also did concept design but that was done in a lego-look meaning cars and stuff but they wanted me to draw it so it looked like real cars and not lego - that way they could focus on elements they liked and try to convert that into the lego-look so all that stuff is not really lego work unless you know. Sadly back in the day all original material was owned by the agency or Lego and not the artist."-Thomas Warming1 point -

First off, I finally got a picture of my entire RR collection, including the spare parts bin, which is exciting. Secondly, I have made a soundboard for Android for the RR SFX. but...I don't know how to get it to you guys. It's still a work in progress, but I'd love to get you guys playing with it and get feedback.. So if anyone knows how to have it hosted, or wants to email me and I'll send it to you directly, just let me know.1 point -
