LEGO has been hiding the truth from us all along.
Lair and 5 others reacted to McJobless for a topic
MCJOBLESS IS ON THE CASE! Recently, I've been studying a LOT of LEGO themes for various reasons, when I discovered some interesting stuff. Here's the theme page: Do you see what I see? Let me just turn on the UV lights for a second (by using a bit of special HTML which modifies the page's colours, making certain elements pop out). Can't you see the asterisks? They're everywhere, and as it turns out, LEGO actually explains what they're for. Read the first line. It's pretty amazing how far LEGO are willing to stoop in order to conceal the truth of the matter. Thankfully, I've been on the case and have come up with a few solutions for what the REAL theme names are: Duplo: Duplo was actually named "Mega Blocks", but due to copyright from another competitor whom I shall not name, they resorted to using the Icelandic translation, seeing as said competitor owns companies in Sweden, Norway and other European countries. The name is indicated both by the size of the brick, and by using my Icelandic friend to translate the phrase. Friends: This was very tricky, but it was actually originally called "Babes". The original premise is that this would be sold to female young adults, as it's the one market LEGO hasn't tapped. Each set would come with clothing options; the idea is that these young adults would need to keep buying sets in order to avoid wearing the same clothes as their friends. When they did product testing, it turns out the products were extremely flammable, and so the LEGO company ran with the idea of sharing the product between Friends, but changed their market to one less interested in actual fashion. I mean, why else would LEGO have their own coat hanger: City: This one is a bit weird. The original name was "LEGO Metropolis", because the original plans were that sets would combine to create a sprawling Metropolis. Furthermore, the characters faces and the colour schemes were designed to imply heavy amounts of Government control, similar to the movie "Metropolis". When LEGO found they couldn't produce enough sets by the time they needed to start selling them, they opted to shorten the title to "LEGO City" and stepped away from the Government-control idea, even though it was hinted in The LEGO Movie, which is where this theory originates from. Ninjago: Originally called "Ninja's Go Fast!", they removed the ending because it sounded a little too much like Sonic's trademark catchphrase, and were concerned with kids attempting to make blue and black Ninjas that would trip off Sega's legal department. The evidence comes from a now deleted LMB forum thread, which was a deleted by a moderator after a child attempted to post his Ninjago/Sonic crossover MOC. The kid that I spoke to about the issue was visibly upset, but insisted I keep the evidence private so as to not embarrass the moderator in question. Ultra Agents: This was actually going to be "Beta Team", as both a call back to Alpha Team, but also showing that these guys are twice as powerful. I was able to find this out by comparing Ogel to AntiMatter, I discovered that they used a very similar head mold/piece, just with a different colour/print. I also discovered that the word "Beta" and "Team" both appear once on each page for Ultra Agents AND Alpha Team on Brickimedia, which only creates an air of conspiracy. Fusion: I recently was in communication with a set builder by the name of "Johannesburg". He told me that when they received the brief for Fusion, it was going to be called "Trouble Training Games", so as not to conflict with the TT Games division of the same name. While "Fusion" had been the very first prototype name, TT Fusion (the studio) insisted that their name be left out of the product line as they were not working on the product. Eventually an executive producer pulled some strings, because "Trouble Training Games" sounded "a bit s***". I could use a bit of advice on how to construct my theories better, and if you guys have any additional evidence, that would be fantastic.6 points -

An Important Announcement

"Jeep announces official partnership with forum member Ayliffe" Partnership will be first of it's kind according to Jeep CEO London, UK (March 31, 2015): Jeep today announced it has entered into a first of it's kind partnership with 'Ayliffe', a member of internet forum Rock Raiders United, in a bid to appeal to a more modern audience and keep up with modern habits. This will help bring Jeep into a position to attract more customers from what has been dubbed 'the forum generation', a market which has been left relatively untouched by major companies. If successful this forum partnership programme, also known as FPP, will be rolled out to other popular internet forums, with an aim to have at least one sponsored member per internet forum in 2025. Jeep is well-known in the motoring industry for such products as the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Grand Cherokee. "We are very excited to work with Ayliffe," said Mike Manley, current CEO and President of Jeep. "Teaming up with Ayliffe to engage with the online community is an exciting development for our company." "Jeep is a great partner and this agreement exemplifies their dedication to appeal to a more modern audience," said Ayliffe, member of the popular internet forum "Rock Raiders United" and the first partner in the FPP scheme. Ayliffe, otherwise known as Jay Phoenix outside the forum, is known as one of the more popular members of "Rock Raiders United" and has previously collaborated with various other companies secretly in a bid to advertise their project via the previously mentioned forum. As part of the multi-million pound deal, Ayliffe will change his well-known catchphrase "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP" to "JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP" and replace his avatar on "Rock Raiders United" with images of Jeep's latest product range. The partnership is expected to last 24 months, and if successful will lead to more partnerships over other selected forums, such as BZPower, Eurobricks and UK of Equestria.4 points -

Soccer Mania time! These are just tests, but they look okay enough to post. Soccer Mania Render Test - Princess Storm Victory! Menu Space This one I didn't actually upload to DA like the rest. If you'd like either of these for a desktop background I can render them in your screen resolution no problem. And lastly, my avatar [at time of posting]* is from this game as well. Oh goodness stop smiling at us like that Pippin!3 points -

Alright! Here are some photos of the very first vehicles created by the development team for the game. These were sent for review to LEGO HQ, who then started work on improving these. I'll post some images of those later.3 points -

....It's mainly been just the classic game's posted in here so far though.. One day someone decided to contact me asking for some IXS rips. I proceed to do a few. While doing a couple vehicles I decided to take a few mini-render pictures of the alternate colours, but in doing so, I got carried away and did much more. With that being said, enjoy all the renders I have done over the last week! All renders (except the last which is larger) are 1920px X 1080px. As RRU scales the images down to fit in the post width, click on the image for larger version of it, or simply go to the DeviantArt page! (highly recommended!) 1. Motorbike Mayhem Airport One of my first renders, the airport on Motorbike Mayhem. It's quite cool to see what the level looks like at a different angle I must say. 2. Duckies! 3. Pier Viewing Beautiful day to hang by the pier eh? Oh wait... the ships are causing WAY too much of a racket to enjoy anything! 4. After a long day's work.... ...the studio is empty and everyone is taking a nice restful break. 5. Copter in the Warehouse While making this picture I wanted to make an image within the warehouse, but I wasn't sure what to do. Sure I could of just done a render of one of the minigame's levels, or even my own custom one, but I wanted to be a bit more original than that, so here you have it, the copter being shown off in all its galore inside the warehouse! 6. Sunset on the Island The sun is setting (FINALLY!?) on the Island. You'd almost think they never get nighttime here. Anyway, this is my first test at doing a time of day aside from the full bright day time, and as well as being a first for adding a minifigure, with a bit of a pose on top of that (raised arm and slightly rotated head). The image didn't turn out exactly how I wanted, but I'm satisfied enough with the results to stop messing with it and show it off. 7. Main Island Northwest Isometric Press the "Download" button on the art's page for the full size of the isometric image, which is 7680px X 4320px Warning! Make sure your computer won't explode from such a large image before opening. =P Q. Tools? Programs? Etc? A. 3D Ripper DX (for ripping), Windows 7 32-bit (for ripping), 3DS Max Student Edition (2010 for import and 2015 rendering). Q. Will you be doing other classic LEGO games? A. Maybe. I've already tested one other non-LEGO game with success. Just keep in can only do what I can rip after all, which to say is not all LEGO games, and even then the whole process takes a while. The large isometric image took 3 hours in rendering time alone. Q. Will you do requests? A. Maybe, but not highly likely.2 points -

I'm going to scream into my pillow, and throw a huge fit right now. But why was it changed? I don't see any reason why Beta Team conflicting with anything. Unless theres some movie or something that i don't know about. Also, if you look, theres an Asterisk next to Chima. Anything on that?1 point -

Brilliant and insightful deductions! The LEGO company is always hiding stuff from us loyal fans! I can corroborate this, I saw some LEGO clothes in a store once, but never saw them again? A prototype test run, perhaps? Just like I'm pretty sure I saw the cancelled BIONICLE PC game for sale at a store once. So sad I didn't buy it...1 point -

I'm not sure why I was surprised to actually hear echoes in this song. Nicely put together, it sounds very conceptual. Also it kind of represents curiosity to me, that's the general feeling I got.1 point -
