LEGO has been hiding the truth from us all along.

MCJOBLESS IS ON THE CASE! Recently, I've been studying a LOT of LEGO themes for various reasons, when I discovered some interesting stuff. Here's the theme page: Do you see what I see? Let me just turn on the UV lights for a second (by using a bit of special HTML which modifies the page's colours, making certain elements pop out). Can't you see the asterisks? They're everywhere, and as it turns out, LEGO actually explains what they're for. Read the first line. It's pretty amazing how far LEGO are willing to stoop in order to conceal the truth of the matter. Thankfully, I've been on the case and have come up with a few solutions for what the REAL theme names are: Duplo: Duplo was actually named "Mega Blocks", but due to copyright from another competitor whom I shall not name, they resorted to using the Icelandic translation, seeing as said competitor owns companies in Sweden, Norway and other European countries. The name is indicated both by the size of the brick, and by using my Icelandic friend to translate the phrase. Friends: This was very tricky, but it was actually originally called "Babes". The original premise is that this would be sold to female young adults, as it's the one market LEGO hasn't tapped. Each set would come with clothing options; the idea is that these young adults would need to keep buying sets in order to avoid wearing the same clothes as their friends. When they did product testing, it turns out the products were extremely flammable, and so the LEGO company ran with the idea of sharing the product between Friends, but changed their market to one less interested in actual fashion. I mean, why else would LEGO have their own coat hanger: City: This one is a bit weird. The original name was "LEGO Metropolis", because the original plans were that sets would combine to create a sprawling Metropolis. Furthermore, the characters faces and the colour schemes were designed to imply heavy amounts of Government control, similar to the movie "Metropolis". When LEGO found they couldn't produce enough sets by the time they needed to start selling them, they opted to shorten the title to "LEGO City" and stepped away from the Government-control idea, even though it was hinted in The LEGO Movie, which is where this theory originates from. Ninjago: Originally called "Ninja's Go Fast!", they removed the ending because it sounded a little too much like Sonic's trademark catchphrase, and were concerned with kids attempting to make blue and black Ninjas that would trip off Sega's legal department. The evidence comes from a now deleted LMB forum thread, which was a deleted by a moderator after a child attempted to post his Ninjago/Sonic crossover MOC. The kid that I spoke to about the issue was visibly upset, but insisted I keep the evidence private so as to not embarrass the moderator in question. Ultra Agents: This was actually going to be "Beta Team", as both a call back to Alpha Team, but also showing that these guys are twice as powerful. I was able to find this out by comparing Ogel to AntiMatter, I discovered that they used a very similar head mold/piece, just with a different colour/print. I also discovered that the word "Beta" and "Team" both appear once on each page for Ultra Agents AND Alpha Team on Brickimedia, which only creates an air of conspiracy. Fusion: I recently was in communication with a set builder by the name of "Johannesburg". He told me that when they received the brief for Fusion, it was going to be called "Trouble Training Games", so as not to conflict with the TT Games division of the same name. While "Fusion" had been the very first prototype name, TT Fusion (the studio) insisted that their name be left out of the product line as they were not working on the product. Eventually an executive producer pulled some strings, because "Trouble Training Games" sounded "a bit s***". I could use a bit of advice on how to construct my theories better, and if you guys have any additional evidence, that would be fantastic.

    LEGO Media E3 2000 footage?

Looks like All Games Network (AGN) was at E3 2000 and got video footage of the stuff LEGO was showing off: http://www.pseudo.com/player/index.php?pt=0&channelID=10&showID=14 Problem is, I can't get any of the videos to play. All the LEGO-related ones give me a blank grey spot where the video should be. The non-LEGO ones do the same thing but put "You must have Real Player to access this video." text on top of that grey spot. I'm not very familiar with how this sort of stuff works and I'd rather not go on a wild goose chase looking for old plugins or whatever. Would anybody here have an idea on how to play (or preferably download) these videos? Sounds like a potential goldmine for beta footage and other fun stuff. Edit - Also, looks like they have E3 coverage for 1999 and 1998 as well, so there's possibly more LEGO game footage besides the ones mentioned above. Also, here's a couple pics of the booth on IGN: http://www.ign.com/articles/2000/05/14/e3-2000-photo-booth-tour-l-n

Yep, I think DM summed it up nicely. I also gave my own response too somewhere but I don't want to trawl through the pages to find it - basically, in addition to what DM said, it reintroduces the need for obsolete items such as the Compass.

    LEGO Media E3 2000 footage?

Out of curiosity, I installed a Windows 98se virtual machine on my desktop. Installed the appropriate browsers and plugins. Tried both IE5 and Firefox 1.0 with flashplayer 7. Doesn't work. I keep getting the "object is expected" error. Now, I'm incredibly out of date when it comes to pretty much any code, but I think that in javascript that can mean a file missing or incorrect path. Its possible the video just isn't there anymore.

Raider-Life: [Stupid] RRU ICTON Fanfiction parodies

What's this? A RRU-themed Full Life Consequences? And Quarter-Life: Halfway to Destruction, too? This is going to be awesome! ... Or, so I thought. To be honest, after reading, I'm a little disappointed. I very quickly noticed that this is really just the two fanfics taken word-for-word, only with the Half-Life names and terms replaced with those related to RRU. I think I would have gotten a lot more enjoyment out of it if you had rewritten these stories from the ground up rather than just copy/paste (for example, like what BOB.EXE did for Sonic.exe), or if you had written a completely original story based entirely on RRU but still had the style of these legendary fanfics (for example, like what Quarter-Life: Origin of Doom did for these two stories). Think of all the potential, all the scenarios, all the shenanigans on RRU that would have lent themselves wonderfully to a "stylistic suck" fanfic. That was what I was hoping to see, rather than just serial numbers filed off. Also, just as a quick tip, ICTON did not make Full Life Consequences or Quarter-Life. They only made the Garry's Mod adaptations. The original fanfics were written by Mattimer (under the pen name "squirrelking") and Peter Chimaera (of DOOM: Repercussions of Evil "And then John was a zombie" fame), respectively.

Raider-Life: [Stupid] RRU ICTON Fanfiction parodies

I knew i could've just edited the last post, but I thought I might go ahead and list all of the members I've possibly offended overall; *Ahem* - Ayliffe [Even though it was funny in the first one, the character he replaces dies at the end] - Jamesster [Referred to as 'Jamey' in the first one dies along with all of RRU's Moderators and administratiors] - RRU's Moderators and Administrators [die along with Jamesster in first one] - le717 [For horrible format when I made-up the first story and posted it in the shoutbox] - Grapheme [For being epic even though it involved him having to beat up Ayliffe] - Cirevam [For saying his Mother died in the third one (because that was what happened in the original source] - Any and All Female Members of RRU [For making it sound like Trolls only beat up women which, I swear, was accidental] - Trolls [because obvious reasons] - People with perfect spelling [because obvious reasons] - ICTON [For me parodying their videos] - PeabodySam [For horrible assumption judging by a poorly made title by me] And finally - Myself [For being the usual immature imbecile I am]

Err, I mean back...dam you SPELLCHECK, well it didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would but life has settled down. Lots of things have changed too, I've got an official start date for transitioning, which'll be in about a month, final projects have started and I've got something like a script worked out for the Anime project that I'm going to start typing up this month, as well as the layout for the story boards which I'll start printing off this month as well. I watched an anime called Shirobako, which is an anime about making anime, that really helped with the process of making anime. And lastly I've created two more languages, which I shall post some time soon. So what've I missed on RRU, if anything? And oh my gods I just realized my Avi is still in christmas mode. Time to change it...

    LEGO Elves Episode 1-FINALLY!

After waiting for so long, the long-anticipated first episode of LEGO Elves has finally been uploaded onto LEGO's Youtube channel, where LEGO regularly uploads the best LEGO videos at the best time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Otnwyl3Cw-4 The show thrives with a gorgeous framerate of approximately 0.7 frames per second, an impressive cast of supporting characters and classic one-liners that would make both Roger Ebert and young Green-Ninjas-In-Training guffaw. ("Okay, this will sound crazy, but I don't think we're moving.") The names are wonderful puns that your kid will love. (Get it? Air? Aira? It's magical I tell you!) The story is about a girl who is lost and wants to go home, but needs 4 magical keys to unlock the portal to Atlantis and get home again. There's also a surprise twist at the end absolutely no one will see coming! And to cap it all off, the animation does not look like LEGO at all. This is a wonderful touch that harkens back to the classic days of the fan-favorite Galidor, which is rumored to be the main theme of the next big LEGO MMO. So what are you waiting for? Go watch the best TV show that LEGO has to offer!

    LEGO Elves Episode 1-FINALLY!

To expand on this further, the episode contained 8 characters, all voiced by three people. That's worse proportions than Chima. Just finished watching it. I knew where that story was going early on, but it was actually pretty good overall, even though some of the dialog and remarks (both verbal and facial) felt forced or unexplained. EDIT Wrong. This is not Galidor. This is clearly the style from the one and only LEGO Friends 1999 game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VbJwBBfIis Told ya.

    LEGO Elves Episode 1-FINALLY!

Oh hey, this finally appeared online. I'm sure the animation can't be that ba- Oh. Okay then. As for the rest of it, I actually thought it was pretty decent plot-wise, and the voicing was top notch, especially when you consider that one person voiced Aira, Skyra, Emily AND Emily's mum ('Twas Ashleigh Ball, who also voices Rainbow Dash and Applejack in MLP). Surprisingly I actually found the jokes rather funny as well, which I didn't expect from the trailers (heck, there was even a twitter reference. A TWITTER REFERENCE). So yeah, I liked it. You surprised?

    Mafia: The Game

The nights dragged on. Notes were found: snarky notes. Curiously, they were in Aiden's blocky script. They tended to contain not the all-too common "AVENGE ME" or "I AM OUT TO GET YOU" style of things, but comments as "I'm still dead, so don't excommunicate me again, once was enough thank you very much" or comments aimed primarily at about he was constantly slowing the works. Whatever the cause, these comments probably had a point. It was never too hard to tell with Aiden, as if there was a tongue smiley anywhere in 20m then he was joking. However, there hadn't been one for several days. One member put forth the strange and unreal idea that he was possibly being serious. Needless to say, this proposal was instantly trashed. After that, the frequency of the notes increased as well as their sarcasm level. There was even a note with a graph on it showing 'Level of sarcasm vs notes:" obviously whoever was writing these notes had access to a photocopier as he had been keeping records. However, over the last day the notes had stopped. Except for tens, hundreds, even thousands in bright blue with purple dots and green stripes, obviously designed to attract attention. Quite simply, they all said "Get on with it." Most of them were burnt to provide warmth on this desolate planet. Some still surfaced around: under a table, on a table, next to a table, above a table, in a table, floating below a table, on the roof of a shack with a table in it, on the small dog-like lifeforms which hung around under tables, in chairs next to a table, and the list went on. How many more notes would come in the following days was uncertain, as would be their content.
