I'll be getting a very special visitor soon...

I'll be sure to dig out a green 2x4, a red 2x4, some flowers and a cup ready for his arrival. Link to where I found him: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221753099415?orig_cvip=true

2015: What is keeping us away from creating custom tracks?

No, I did not code the track by hand. I used Xirons obj file. I parsed it with a tool and then generated the gdb file out of it. the gdb file is a binary file. For quiet some time there exists a BinaryEditor implemented by WillKirkby that can open and write these binary files. I wrote a small converter that converts the binary file in a txt file myself so that I can read it with a normal text editor. When I generate the track from Xiron into a gdb file and generate then a txt file out of it, the file contains 150408 lines (last track version). It should be similar in the BinaryEditor. Currently I can only drive in a small box (the transparent blue area): This is due to my first test track: a simple box. There the collision was easy to calculate. I gave it a try. There are still some triangles wrong but it is much better now. I am not sure why, but I had to scale the track again. The following results are scaled by 5. I hope the dummy texture was a better choise this time. That is it for today.

Small correction: there is no Blacktron in those books. Blacktron wasn't even a thing yet. The bad guys are just generic black-suited spacemen. Yes they aren't, but they're the predecessor. Frank Madisen (if i spelled that right) came up with the idea of Kazak's Army, and my guess is LEGO got on the bandwagon and made a theme for it, Blacktron. This makes sense, because if you look at The Unknown Galaxy the vehicles look just like Blacktron vehicles. (as well as the colorscheme) No. Kazak's troops and their design were part of the story Frank Madsen received from LEGO in 1984 (which was also the year black and blue classic spacemen were released; Frank said as far as he knew Kazak's men were just variants of those). Blacktron wasn't released until 1987, and Frank had no knowledge of it until its release (the only time he remembers being given any info on upcoming sets/themes was in 1987, when he was given an early look at the Futuron monorail for use in an unreleased mini-comic).

    Sick Bricks

Silly jamesster, you don't need to watch Sick Bricks to gain a newfound appreciation for Ninjago. Just watch Legends of Chima. Ugh, this whole thing reminds of Garbage Patch Kids... and we all know how well that turned out. For some reason, some marketing team out there thinks that kids like gross and unappealing stuff (which makes you wonder about the childhoods of said marketing team). Only this time, it's "recycled IN SPACE LEGOS!" which makes it totally original. Yes, that instance of "LEGOS" was intentional, because I doubt that the people who made this give two bricks about the difference between a brand name and a noun that can be pluralized.

    Sick Bricks

Well, at least the name of these explains how much Lego fans feel about them.
