Bricklink Upgrades to the Year 2004
The Ace Railgun and 4 others reacted to emily for a topic
So remember how Bricklink got bought out by a huge company? And how, instead of opting to rescue the site's interface from the 90s, they made LEGO Cuusoo again? Well now they've finally turned their attention to the core site by launching a beta for its upcoming facelift. Right now it's mostly just a reskin of the site to bring it slightly more up to date, but there are some important new features as well. Like, they actually addressed what were easily Bricklink's greatest problems. That's right. You can now pay on-site, as opposed to throwing the seller a payment over PayPal manually as we have done since the dawn of time. And you can run a search without having to specify the category (sets, parts, instructions) you want first. You get a nice set of tabs that let you select any category you wish to view, all on one search results page. You can see the announcement here, and try out the preview here.5 points -
Unused items
emily and 2 others reacted to lol username for a topic
The text files in CHARS\ITEMS_TXT define properties of items. Add this line to the entry for an item you want to make available in-game: ItemAbility Always "ItemCanBeCollected" And you'll be able to unlock it via large treasure chests. Not sure if there's a way to make them unlocked by default. There also seem to be items without any entries in the text files. I haven't experimented with making new entries for them yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.3 points -

Anybody remember this silly guy?
Quisoves Potoo and one other reacted to Ayliffe for a blog entry
Ah yes, I remember this well. Just to clear some bits up in the story bit: >The theme park was Chessington World Of Adventures (or just Chessington, tbh), and the ride itself was called Dragon Falls (not to be confused with Dragons Fury, a rollercoaster at the same park). >The boats themselves were shaped more like little wooden boats with flat bits at the front. There weren't really any proper seats as such, just some grooves where you shove ya feet in. There WAS a tunnel shaped like a dragon on the outside though, although on the inside it looked like... a metal storage container. Effort much? >You should be able to hear the announcement that inspired this drawing in this POV here. Yays. >Also the music for this ride is also pretty sweet, and you can check that out here.2 points -

I was able to generate a small tree. There are many things that are not stable. My progress is very slow currently (no time ). Here are two images of my current test track: It is a flat octagon.2 points -

Road plates for Lego Worlds
Ben24x7 and one other reacted to P1771S for a topic
Made a road plate package which can be imported into the Lego Worlds beta. It currently has a Crossroad, T Junction, Curve and Straight road. Their sizes correspond to the original real life plates, yet they'll look different due to the brick limitation in Lego Worlds. Hope this is useful for someone You can download them from this forum at url: http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/253 Theres a readme file with some additional information.2 points -

BIONICLE RETURNING 2015
Quisoves Potoo reacted to emily for a topic
So I found some news... on the LEGO Message Boards. Mostly the first post is just old news, but the final part ("Last bit of info is that the Graphic Novel 1 has a secret look at the world of Bionicle in Okoto Protectors Guide. So it looks like a telling of things through the elders. ") came out of nowhere. So I checked back on the Amazon page for the book and, sure enough, we have a better description. I know we already knew a second one is already on its way, but all the same it is good to know that they are already greenlighting sequel books - that says good things about whatever sales data they've got back on the line so far. I like the sound of maps, myths and more.1 point -

What I want to see added is everything that could make this game perfectly AWESOME, which to say the least is all suggestions everyone says that is reasonable.1 point -

The ability to program your own models. I'd love to see some sort of system where you can program your own vehicles/models and even characters. Also, I'd really like to see more classics themes in there. So far it's just Minifigures and Creator for the most part, I'd like to get some Alpha Team, Adventurers, etc.1 point -

Wognif reacted to Fush for a topic
All I want right now is the rest of the brick catalog supported. WHY ARE THERE NO ARCHES? NO CYLINDERS? I mean I can understand stuff like hinges probably requires more code they haven't written yet but there are some basic bricks missing.1 point -

[03:31:50] Jim Brickkeeper: Huh. You can cause a minifigure to keel over with a seizure by tapping on them in LEGO Fusion. [03:32:14] Jim Brickkeeper: Oh wait, [03:32:29] Jim Brickkeeper: I'm sorry, you can cause them to laugh. [03:32:41] Jim Brickkeeper: Yes, laughing, that's it. [03:33:01] Jim Brickkeeper: You can cause them to keel over laughing. [03:33:11] Jim Brickkeeper: Laughing. And just for reference in 10 months' time: [03:33:20] Will Kirkby: guys I want this on record: [03:33:26] Will Kirkby: LegoOrange is going to be the Star Wars 7 game [03:33:49] Will Kirkby: either a standalone or a 7-9 compilation game but I'd wager a standalone [03:34:06] Will Kirkby: in august 2013 Disney did this: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Orange_Harvest --- snip --- [03:34:26] Will Kirkby: in oct/nov 2013, Lego Marvel arrived with the first known occurance of "LegoOrange" in the game executable [03:34:28] Noghiri: I'd wager a 7-9 compilation, that's how LSW1 went, so did LSW2 and LSW3 --- snip --- [03:34:42] Will Kirkby: it's appeared in every TT game binary since with seemingly no finalized game [03:35:15] Will Kirkby: every other notable franchise has had its codename accounted for by me, so it seems logical that Star Wars 7 is going to be LegoOrange. [03:35:37] Will Kirkby: I'm now going to post this in the quotes thread so we can look at how right I was in 10 months' time. [03:35:53] Will Kirkby: note: this is pure speculation on my part1 point -

Hey guys, I'm leaving on vacation in a couple of days from now, but before I go I'd like to give you an LDD tool that's actually useful. It converts LXF/LXFML models to OBJ. Mostly. Grab a build here: https://github.com/bartvbl/LDDModelConverter/releases1 point -
