Ben realises an insignificant link between the Infomaniac and a YTP of Michael Rosen
eagleeyedan and 3 others reacted to Ben24x7 for a blog entry
As unfortunate as it is, I've gotten back into Michael Rosen, mainly YTPs of him as usual, and I found one named "Michael Rosen stops celebrating 25 years of seizures". Its just a stupid fiesta of random out-bursts of song, insignificant amounts of sentence mixing, and so forth. But the reason why I bring this up, is that I couldn't help noticing the bit at 1:21, where Michael shuts an "invisible door" only to crash while emitting a *BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*; https://youtu.be/1uhwh8W4-lg?t=1m21s Sounds familiar? https://youtu.be/R1mvTPI1RtA?t=5m35s Admittedly, this was more than likely not deliberate, but I realised that Michael Rosen, apart from that moment in the YTP, he's a lot like the Infomaniac (he's got the age, hair, I guess attitude too, just missing a suit, hat and glasses). To drive my point home further, I made this picture for fun; Now excuse me a second, I might've misplaced my shotgun... (=)<-< --Ben24x7-- P.S. Oh, and after posting this up I set my Mood Status to "*BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*". This happened; BREAKING THE EDGE OF RRU FOR THE WIN4 points -

UHC: Round 5 Wow... What an awesome round. First off, the results: And now for the match overview from our perspective. The match started off an hour late, at which point everyone got straight to work. I have to give a huge credit to Antillies here, who's expertise guided us through to collecting diamond and enchanting our armour. Onegreatrace was the first to fall, followed some time afterward by Ben24x7. After that, the six remaining players - spread across all four teams - continued to work up until the game's end, which is probably the first time this many players survived until the end of the game. As the game finished and the twenty minute countdown began, in which the world border continued to shrink, Antillies and I headed out to hunt the enemy. We first came across Arthuriel and Shadowblaze. Arthuriel legged it out of the area, while Antillies and I pursued Shadow. Shadow put up a good fight, but with Antillies using his bow and I using my sword, we quickly dispatched and looted Shadowblaze, eliminating him from the game. We swiftly pursued Arthuriel but he managed to evade us, losing us in the forest. After some searching we came across RobExplorien and chased him. Rob was crafty in using explosives, mobs and the dense forest to elude us, but ultimately we dispatched him too, wiping out RobExplorien and his team. This left Team 3, RR Rocks from Team 2 and Arthuriel from Team 4. Antillies and I cautiously approached the centre of the world as the border closed in. I stupidly broke off from our pairing, at which point RR Rocks ambushed and killed me in seconds, removing JimbobJeffers from the match. Antillies had little time to prepare himself before he and RR Rocks were engaged in combat. After a short battle, Antillies was slain, leaving RR Rocks and Arthuriel to engage in a final duel! Many floating-head spectators circled the world which was now approaching 20 blocks square in size. Arthuriel pulled back upon seeing RR Rocks, but RR Rocks quickly charged in around the corner and took him by surprise, finishing off Arthuriel and claiming victory. Yup, RR Rocks single-handedly killed three other players and won the game! Wow, that was such an awesome game. Again, thanks Antillies for your help, I really enjoyed this match and it seems everyone else did too. Good game!2 points -

Rest in Pieces LDD Final Boss.
STUDZ reacted to Alcom Isst for a blog entry
People of Rock Raiders United, I bring terrible news.On Thursday, 2015-19-06, after some recent contributions by LEGO Message Board users, the LMB topic LDD Final Boss is Too Hard was brutally murdered by an albino alligator. This is a devastating loss for myself, its contributors, and all those it entertained. LDD Final Boss was an incredible creation. It was a sample of pure uninhibited imaginative human thought. It was an example of the incredible things that teamwork can accomplish. It was a bold and successful experiment in online social interaction. Despite it not involving a single brick, I rank LDD Final Boss among my greatest LEGO Creations. I would like to thank those and all my friends who contributed to this incredible endeavor. Rest in LEGO Pieces, LDD Final Boss.1 point -

Contrary to popular belief, WhiteAlligator did not close the topic to suppress creative thought. She saw it as her solemn duty to stop naysayers such as jonencloud (page 12) and legosuperfan55 (page 13), who dared to use the topic as their soapbox to proclaim that the LDD Final Boss was merely a hoax or a prank, demanding that the topic be shut down as a result. WhiteAlligator could not let that continue, for if too many of them used the topic as their soapbox, then the unfortunate populace would never be able to discover the truth about LDD amidst all the whining and complaining. Therefore, she took it upon herself to make a very difficult choice, and decided that the best solution was to lock the topic, preventing such naysayers from continuing to say nay, and forever preserving our masterpiece of crap. Now, the LDD Final Boss topic can forever be remembered fondly as a piece of history whose time was cut too short, and we must thank, not blame, WhiteAlligator for her role in setting our legend in stone.1 point -

Goodbye, LDD Final Boss, you will be sorely missed. WhiteAlligator has done nothing but hamper creativity, and not only in this case, from what I've heard of him, and thus he does not deserve to work for the LEGO Group.1 point -
LEGO Racers in Unity

@Zeph: I think it's fair to assume that people appreciate the work that went into it, even if it isn't all that much yet. It will make custom tracks and stuff a great deal easier. You may not see the point in transferring Lego Racers to Unity, but I certainly don't see the point of popping in, spouting an expletive, and bringing everyone down when it was not your time or work that was, as you seem to think, wasted.1 point -

Wow, thanks for the support! I've thought about this, I guess most of what I've done can be done programmatically, but I don't think I'm capable enough. I know Grappigegovert's GDB converter includes the UV texture mapping, but I don't know much about how that works, whether it links to the specific texture files or if it does that anywhere else in the game. Let me set this straight. I didn't say I was remaking the game, or porting it. This was literally an exercise, and I thought people here might find it interesting, one because I'm using tools developed by members here who might see this, and two because it might be useful for anyone's own projects. I've not added any gameplay elements, and I hadn't really thought about it. Plus the physics was pretty dodgy in the original. I loved it, but it was definitely dodgy. Well, if I understand correctly Unity isn't really for modelling. You could modify the extracted models, but I don't think there's a way to get the models back in (edit: yet). I'm pretty sure there's talk about it in the Modding section of the forums somewhere.1 point -
