I'm pretty sure 70% of the budget went into making up catchphrases for Pepper, which is why this game has such a low quality.2 points -

So, uh, I guess someone at Brickshelf really hates Jim Spaceborn or something because he is being a butt and deleting the gallery multiple times. So I registered at Imgur and we'll just do things that way (and really, in this day and age, that was probably the most sensible choice in the first place). http://imgur.com/a/tWS2r This way I don't have to make a new post every day, too. List of (probably) every L.M.S. Explorer MOC on the internet (Last update: 2021-11-26)
IncogM reacted to Arthuriel for a topic
"Will Arthuriel ever stop to annoy the world with posts about the L.M.S. Explorer and will he finally create something else (actually I did^^)? Then tune in and find out next week. Same Arth Channel. Same Arth Time." The topic is based on this blog post, that I originally made in back in 2013: https://rockraidersunited.com/blogs/entry/1105-list-of-probably-every-lms-explorer-moc-on-the-internet/ I created this list, because I wanted to know, how many MOCs of the L.M.S. Explorer (or ships, which are based on the LMS Explorer) can be found on the internet. Maybe some of you are also interested in this. Therefore I made this originally available via a blog post. In almost every case I've found a picture to proof the existence of a MOC. In each category the models are sorted after the year of their release. Overview (2013-Oct-10): this list contains 29 entries (Update 2015-07-31: in some cases the links don't work anymore. In other news: I haven't found any new MOCs so far). (2021-11-26): time for another update. Some new MOCs enter the list and I add new working links for some of the older entries (sadly some entries don't have a working replacement). Summary: LEGO MOCs (16 entries) Non-LEGO MOCs (10 entries) Unfinished/ WIP MOCs (10 entries) Finished/ unfinished MOCs without pic proofs (3 entries) Random other L.M.S. Explorer (probably?) related stuff I found while updating this thread (2 entries) Lego MOCs (digital and real ones) 1. Nope. 10. L.M.S. Venture Explorer by Raven319s Currently the RRU user Raven319s is making an open-world brick game and imported my 1:1 L.M.S. Explorer model into Unreal Engine 5. Thanks to the Nanite mod/option in that engine even an unoptimised model can be displayed at a good framerate. year of construction: 2021 (the user is fixing or fixed mistakes like microgaps to have a bug-free version of the spaceship for a test map) Does it have an RRU thread? Kinda, Raven posted a few times in one of my threads (example): https://rockraidersunited.com/topic/3082-11-scale-lms-explorer-ldrawstudio-20-file-downloads-2021-10-21-oh-hey-this-thread-is-10-years-old-and-still-going/page/7/?tab=comments#comment-141290 Unfinished/ WIP MOCs 1. Nope. At least it's probably downloadable, if you log into Roblox. edit: hmm, that looks like the entry from SmilingGalatic. Maybe I made a mistake *insert bad violin player from the Monty Python sketch "Mr. Neutron" ;)* Update: since this is also a Roblox link, it's also broken 3. 1:1 scale LMS Explorer by The Mad Scientist year of construction: 2010 link: https://rockraidersunited.com/topic/2069-11-scale-lego-model-of-the-lms-explorer/ Does it have an RRU thread? Kinda, since she posted in one of my threads. 9. L.M.S. Explorer Rooms by Arthuriel separate rooms of the spaceship made by me based on sources like the Intro or Outro of the Rock Raiders computer game year of construction: 2013 (bridge), 2019-2020 (hangar bay and teleport room), 2020 (reactor room) Do they have an RRU thread? Kinda, the bridge can be found via my 1:1 L.M.S. Explorer thread (including download), but the other rooms aren't complete (especially the reactor room since the scales are all over the place) and I only made them as a basis for baraklava so he could further modify them for his game Manic Miners (it's a really good remake of Rock Raiders btw). bridge: https://rockraidersunited.com/gallery/image/5429-lms-explorer-bridge-12-picture-1/ hangar bay: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/580269696369164301/756224976020963468/hangar_bay.jpg teleport room: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/580269696369164301/756225018110935060/teleport_hall.jpg the other side of the hangar bay and teleport room: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/580269696369164301/756225046183280770/teleport_hall_opposite_wall.jpg reactor room (attempt): https://rockraidersunited.com/uploads/monthly_2021_03/large.reactor_room_scale_differences.jpg.0486e32160e225112f7a08a86715f107.jpg 10. L.M.S. Explorer model/manual by Thomkok23 currently the RRU user Thomkok23 is trying to make to make a new Studio 2.0 model that also serves as a step by step manual. Fixing bugs and misplaced bricks is also part of the process. project start: 2019 and ongoing Does it have an RRU thread? Kinda since Thomkok23 posted the progress of the project in one of my threads: https://rockraidersunited.com/topic/3082-11-scale-lms-explorer-ldrawstudio-20-file-downloads-2021-10-21-oh-hey-this-thread-is-10-years-old-and-still-going/page/7/?tab=comments#comment-138962 Finished/ unfinished MOCs without pic proofs (maybe this category is a bit dubious, because basically everybody could claim to have a finished/unfinished LMS Explorer) 1. LMS Explorer by kris220b year of construction: unclear (long gone now according to kris220b, which could mean anything since the first version of LDD till maybe 2008 or 2009) In one comment under a youtube video (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKX-ZHYb09I) this user claimed to have build the LMS Explorer in LDD on an old laptop, but sadly the save is long gone now. 2. LMS Explorer by wordsarecool year of construction: 2008 I recently (2021) found this archived Roblox thread while updating this thread: https://archive.froast.io/forum/3342321 3. LMS Explorer scaled to human size in Minecraft by Arthuriel year of construction: 2012 Basically I started to build the LMS Explorer on the server from CTXXTC, but one day the server wasn't available anymore and therefore the ship is left unfinished. Random other L.M.S. Explorer (probably?) related stuff I found while updating this thread 1. 3D fanmade models that remind me a bit of an entry in this thread that it broken now (I don't know, which one though, lol). I found these models and they remind me of another entry. I don't know, if the people who uploaded the model, where the original creators. L.M.S. Fleet from Michael Godzina. link (based on the source code I found two years/dates: 2007 and 2014): https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/b1c48faf4693ec7da131491eebff98b/LMS-Fleet L.M.S. Explorer from Blue Phang (originally Nateel) from 2007 (based on that I think that the previous entry is also from 2007): https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/14897ecc169179a6ce70586e8c088da/LMS-Explorer The last link I found via a 3D model search engine called 3dmdb: https://3dmdb.com/ 2. lockedmc Minecraft server from 2021 (since it's version 1.16.5) I also found a minecraft server/world and one part of the map reminded me of the hangar bay from the L.M.S. Explorer. I could be completely wrong though. link: https://mcl.ist/server/lockedmc.com:25565 Note: There are probably more MOCs etc. from the LMS Explorer out there, that I don't know of, because the users keep them privately and don't make them public. One counter argument to this could be, that in most cases a user would make a LMS Explorer model public, because... ...well... it's TEH LMS EXPLORER and if you question it, Chief will hit ya in da face ; ). Okay, jokes aside. It's just my theory and therefore it's unknown, how many MOCs are out there, but this list is a small attempt to archivate them : ) I hope, that there will be more versions of the LMS Explorer in the future, which will look even more awesome.1 point -

Two years ago, a day after RRU's 6th anniversary and 9 days before my birthday, I first shoved my ugly mug 'ole in the general direction of this site, and joined because - Well, actually I've never said on here the real reason why I joined in the first place. Mainly because it was so downright silly. I joined to look at... a topic with a nyan cat mod for racers. Really. When I first navigated my way here as a member of the LMBs (that stopped very soon after), I was a bit of a n00b to be honest. Okay, I wasn't as extreme a n00b as some members (jamesbrick and delle come to mind), but I wouldn't exactly call my early posting habits outstanding, to say the least. To be honest, my posting didn't really become decent until the beginning of 2014, when I started drawing again for a community project that sorta went nowhere (and I still kinda doubt it would, but I'd be interested to see it go somewhere). It was a bit weird picking up my pencil again after so many years of not drawing, but now I'm really happy that I'm back to drawing again - And yeah, I've sorta gone off on a weird tangent of talking about my history here on RRU, haven't I? Yep, I should do that less. Anyways, I guess the main reason I wanted to make this post was to thank all of you for making the last 2 years of me being here so enjoyable. Yes, every single one of you. Even the spambots and the n00bs and the 20 different accounts that were dellepack. All of you have contributed in your own unique ways to my online life, and helped me gradually through my real one. I've made a ton of mates through here, and hopefully I'll make more over the next umpteen years here. So yeah, here's to another infinity years here. LEGO Worlds News And Discussion
aidenpons reacted to le717 for a topic
First up, developers posted a picture of the first island ever generated by Worlds. We've come a way, folks. Secondly, most likely due to the constant whining, complaining, impatience, criticism of the developers and attitude of entitlement that plagues the Elimbies Annex (and has gotten on my nerves waaaaaay more than it should have, as many people can testify), a "What we are working on" post has been published. These things won't all be in Update 2, but rather this supplements the planned features list on the store page. Some notable points: Underwater exploration is coming, starting with the camera going underwater with you, also "when you dive down you get blue hearts and limited time to explore, while underwater vehicles will have no such problems!" There will not be a separate gameplay mode, AKA Survival à la Minecraft. The reason? "We feel strongly that the identity of the game would suffer." That being said, they "do aim to draw inspiration from modes and mechanics we’ve seen elsewhere, just not in a packaged story or survival mode." Obviously the camera will continue to be tuned (no mention of first-person mode) They are currently making small tweaks the GUI, but in the longer run it will be overhauled (hopefully for the better) "Also tying in to making exploration and discovery better, we are working on a procedural system for generating towns & settlements." The biggest news here is more details on multiplayer. Starting with the obvious, their engine was initially designed as single-player, local co-op, not online play. Worlds is thus having them reconsider and rewrite a lot of their engine to work in online multiplayer. Maybe this means we can except online play in future TT games, but who knows. They are also adding local co-op with splitscreen. This one is interesting to me as I kinda expected this to be present already. It seems they were actually going to cut it out completely and replace it with online multiplayer. The problem now is such co-op brings performance issues, which have always been present, but by the nature of Worlds, I can see that being a bigger issue now. Update 2 info will be coming out next week.1 point -

BIONICLE RETURNING 2015

This isn't an April Fools joke, if that's what you mean. SPIRIT is wrong, this is an official LEGO webpage. here's a rough translation of the text that came with the image (oh, wait, this was already done. oh well): This description actually names the forge for the first time ("Great Forge"). If you want more proof, they've posted this concept art. That's not something a fan does in his spare time, and it matches the Ancient City concept art we got at the return announcement.1 point -

We really don't need to. Everyone has their own personalities and this is not something you can just flick the switch on. If you're on the internet, you better be prepared to deal with different personalities because there are millions of arguments happening right this second where personality clashes are to blame. There is no one solution to fix this, this is why rules exist. We allow you to talk they way you like provided it's within the rules. But it doesn't just end there because people then have their own interpretations of the rules. This means the moderators have to try and put aside their view of the rules with on the line things, and instead deliberate with other moderators to try and find something that is fair and does not fit the agenda of any group. This is not a quick process. Now for all those taking sides on this matter, you should be well aware that JamesBrick only existed on RRU for but a few hours. Between his declaring he would 'stay forever' and then 'leave forever' in a community he apparently knew little about he managed to 3 almost empty RP topics (For any who aren't aware: RRU is not a Roleplay/FanFic forum, however we allow it because we're nice like that), then proceeded to ask for a new forum dedicated to role-playing.. Within that topic he managed to imagine some sort of insult to his RP topics on LMB calling Jamester 'crap and rubbish'. He then told Jamesster not to say 'crap' for who knows what reason. After which he went into some immature rant repeating the word that he told Jamesster not to say before having his little rage quit. Members then made fun of his complete immaturity and rudeness. Now, if we go back to the saying "treat others the way you wish to be treated" you can say, JamesBrick got back what he sew. Likewise as that saying, if you don't feel making fun of his immaturity was right, do not involve yourself in it. If you've changed your mind, remove yourself from the situation. But at the end of the day, if you're going to act like a jerk, don't expect to be treated like a person who is not a jerk. This aside, no-one should feel 'scared' to post. If you suffer direct abuse, report the post, and a moderator to deal with it. If you are afraid to post because you think someone will offend your opinion, this is a personal issue, not a collective forum issue. This is the internet, people yell and scream on nearly every page you can find because people cannot accept someone not agreeing with them. Once you've fully accepted this, you'll be able to throw your 2 cents everywhere and not care what people say in reply.... they are words, they won't jump out of the screen and punch you, they're not going to turn up at your doorstep and yell in your face. People get offended and depressed by what people say on the internet because they're trying to find some sort of acceptance or boost their self esteem. People on the internet are NOT the people you should be trying to get approval of or win points with, they owe you nothing and you owe them nothing. Don't get attached to people you do not know, instead direct that energy at your real life friends. Really who give a rats what some guy in some country thinks of your whatever. If your mood is changing from what some person said, it means you've given them that power. I am not saying people can abuse you the way they want and you have to deal with it, no, there are lines. But until one of these lines have been crossed, you're own you own to deal with what other people say to you. This is all I have to say on this matter.1 point -

I feel as if I should make a contribution here, although I'm not entirely sure why. I'm far from being an active member of this community, and obviously I am in no position to make an argument as to whether there is a problem or how serious it may be if it should exist. I will say that I often feel uncomfortable on this site and primarily visit it only to collect information on old LEGO themes and media as it trickles in. I don't know if I am simply oversensitive, but I have always been cautious with my posting for fear of reprimand by the community, especially early on in my days visiting the site. Now I don't fear that as much, but I still see posts that I know would convey a lot more harm to me (if they were hypothetically directed at me) than I believe the poster intends or realizes. It has made it increasingly difficult for me to visit this site at all, when at this point it's a very stressful exercise. I don't mean to blame or accuse anyone, I genuinely believe that no one is trying to do anything wrong here, and I'm terribly sorry if it comes across that way. Just look at this as an outside voice to take into account when mulling this all over, I guess.1 point -

If this has become such a problem I'll gladly delete the New Members forum. I don't read ~90% of the topics that are posted here, and when I do read them it's a bunch of us posting extremely wacky things like telling people to keep their pants on and what have you. And there's always McJobless being a D; I've asked him several times to stop it but he never changes because "that's just the way he is." But I don't have the means or the right to change how people act, so we will all have to improve how we conduct ourselves around here. Remember that we are (probably) the only LEGO modding forum in existence right now, and if we're not the only one then we're certainly one of the best, in both the games we cover and general post quality. Act professionally, but don't be elitist. And for the record, I never made an introduction topic when I joined RRU in 2008. I just joined and started participating. Granted, everyone was chill back then since we were busy cracking Rock Raiders.1 point -

And thou the fourth age of middle earth began an era ended. One of the many occurrences during this wonderous age was the sudden appearance of the ruler JamesBrick, who founded several HQs cities dedicated to the development of very specific industries to improve the nation's economy. Sadly he disappeared after a devastating event, which the historians called the "Big Crap of spring 2014". Some theories say, that the king had some anger issues, which lead in combination with numerous revolts due to his revolutionary policies to the end of his short reign. Other theories are based on the notion, that the sewage system of the kingdom was disfunctional due to low maintenance. Nonetheless the citizens of this land remembered their beloved and glorious leader and raised him to the status of a god. Therefore they built several temples in his name, which tourists can visit for a nominal fee to the present day. P.S.: Sorry for that. It was just too tempting.1 point -
