A bit of a random post. Here are some images that we were sent by LEGO just for reference/inspiration I believe, plus some prototypes for the Stunt Rally character minifigs.7 points -

Surprise update! I dropped this for a while when one of the graphics libraries I use for it stopped working. But now I need a break from my other project, and I've learned a lot since last year, so it was a good time to finally get this update taken care of. Here it is, GeoTool Alpha 2. I meant to just go straight to beta once all the new features were done, but there was a pretty terrible bug in Alpha 1 that I missed. I was enabling OpenGL3's 'forward compatibility mode', which made it incompatible with its own shaders. Not sure how it even worked at all for some of us. But I turned that off and also updated the shaders to GL3, so hopefully no more shader problems now (as long as you don't have a really old video card). GeoTool can finally edit maps now, not just view them. An old GIF of terrain editing (I don't have video recording software on Windows, sorry): Not everything is finished yet in this version, but it can edit and save SURF and HIGH maps. Let me know if you find more bugs -- there's probably plenty of them. I'll update the main post tomorrow(ish).2 points

XBF Files (3D content)
aidenpons reacted to Sluicer for a topic
I had a look into the xbf files from the game LEGO Stunt Rally. They contain 3D data. Here is a small peek at my current results. A track part: A building: A pickup: And two cars from the workshop (I think they are unexpected detailed): More to come (The orange is the goal).1 point -
Some minifig faces: Tim from Time Cruisers + 2 skulls + other stuff
Rock Monster reacted to TheStranger for a topic
Hi! I'm new here I can't believe there's a forum where people still talk about Lego Racers. I felt like playing this game again after years and decided to google it to see if there were any mods for it and found this forum filled with cool stuff. I made a few skins textures that I thought I'd share: Tim from the Time Cruisers Lego Series: He has a different face for each emotion like the others in the game. And I made these 2 skulls from some Lego sets: Download link (all in one file): I made them on MS Paint and then used some online tracing/vector thing, and for the last skull I realized I could use IrfanView to save it in 256 colors properly. Still they aren't terribly good Idk if any of these has been made already by someone else, sorry in that case, I must have missed it. I hope you like them EDIT! I made these 2 new skins: Spritle's shirt from the Speed Racer theme and the Actress jacket from the Lego Studios theme. Maybe making the shirt yellow like the original was a bad idea though And I made this rim texture to replace the default old white ones with these that are meant to be those the Tiny Turbos had. HTML5 Rock Raiders Remake
le717 reacted to risingstar64 for a topic
I haven't given an update in awhile, so I decided to do so in a fresh post rather than an additional edit. I've taken a break from this project for the past few months to work on a few different projects of mine, but recently I returned to make some additional progress. I finally got around to fixing the few bugs that I have observed in the raider AI, and am confident that the code is now more robust, albeit still more than a little messy. I also split large classes into their own JS files, since the game code was becoming difficult to navigate. The latest version of the game has been updated on my site, and the last remnants of lazy file pathing have been fixed in the asset loader and html file, which means running the game locally should now be as easy as downloading the "rygame" directory and then double clicking the html file inside the "rock raiders" folder (for now to maintain parity with the site file structure the rygame folder needs to be the root folder when running the game locally, but I'll probably look into a more elegant solution later in development). I am currently starting to recreate the original rock raiders levels in my game's level file structure. Could anyone point me in the right direction to find the level data in the original game's files? I have already unpacked the rock raiders WAD file in order to copy textures from the game, however I have not yet had a chance to look into where or how level data is stored.1 point -

Hi everyone, sorry for the long absence. @jamesster: The short version of the story is that IG didn't have the manpower in house to do both the PC and PlayStation version. We started working on both simultaneously, but after some time progress on the PS version fell behind, and the job of creating that version was given to another studio (I don't recall which studio). The screenshots that surfaced are from that version, so that studio got further than IG did on the PS version, but I don't know any more than that. @JHUYSER: If I recall correctly, LEGO media just sent us a crate with LEGO (we also had some from the development of Loco). I don't recall seeing any specific LEGO sets (other than the prototype sets they sent us to include in the game).1 point -
