Krysto's minifigure mods
Zed and 4 others reacted to lol username for a topic
Posting these for Krysto as he's not signed up on the forums. He made some torso textures - Blacktron, Flex (2004), Hydronauts, Ice Planet 2002, and Insectoids. The download includes TEX/DDS textures all ready to go, plus the vectors he made that they're derived from. If anybody has more vector requests, references for back prints, custom or otherwise, feel free to ask him. http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/2725 points -

When will the Rock Raiders find the worst Rock Raider themed fanfiction ever made? P.S.: This is my first comic since February 2015. I wondered what I should make and thought, that a simple one panel comic would be a nice start.3 points -

Yeah well the problem is, I think... People just come up with ideas on this section of the forums, and let them die here... I find this deeply sad.... I want to finish this... how long it may even take2 points -
Surprise update! I dropped this for a while when one of the graphics libraries I use for it stopped working. But now I need a break from my other project, and I've learned a lot since last year, so it was a good time to finally get this update taken care of. Here it is, GeoTool Alpha 2. I meant to just go straight to beta once all the new features were done, but there was a pretty terrible bug in Alpha 1 that I missed. I was enabling OpenGL3's 'forward compatibility mode', which made it incompatible with its own shaders. Not sure how it even worked at all for some of us. But I turned that off and also updated the shaders to GL3, so hopefully no more shader problems now (as long as you don't have a really old video card). GeoTool can finally edit maps now, not just view them. An old GIF of terrain editing (I don't have video recording software on Windows, sorry): Not everything is finished yet in this version, but it can edit and save SURF and HIGH maps. Let me know if you find more bugs -- there's probably plenty of them. I'll update the main post tomorrow(ish).2 points

GeoTool
trigger_segfault reacted to sheepandshepherd for a topic
GeoTool Beta 2 - 18 June 2016 A map viewer/editor for Lego Rock Raiders. Currently it can edit most aspects of a map's terrain, and can also convert the heightmap to and from images for editing in GIMP/Photoshop/Paint. It's written in D and OpenGL. Windows only. You can get the source code on GitHub. It replaces the old Heightmap Converter tool, which was ugly and too badly coded to improve any further. Also, I much enjoyed switching to D, it's a fun programming language. Usage Buttons for creating, loading, and saving maps are at the top right. You can also load by dragging a map's icon onto the GeoTool window. The load and save functions automatically detect the map components by their names, so you only need to open one of the map files; the rest will automatically be detected. They do need to be named correctly though -- as in, contain the words "surf"/"high"/etc. somewhere in their filename. You can view and edit the Terrain and the Heightmap with the tabs under the New/Load/Save buttons. Most image formats are supported for heightmaps. Images are grayscale, with black representing height 0 and white representing height 63 (higher than that bugs out LRR, so no point going that high.) You can move the camera with the keyboard or by clicking/dragging on the minimap. Screenshots New GUI to replace the buggy, gray old one: By default, LRR's radar map colors are used for the terrain: Terrain can also use the textures loaded from LRR biomes. Here's level 23 in terrain edit mode, with the rock biome: Heightmap editor: Controls WASD/Click on map = move Home = reset and center view to the center of the map Arrow keys = rotate camera PGUP/PGDN/+/-/Mouse wheel = zoom camera F5/P = save a screenshot F = toggle the FPS/status bar at the bottom Esc = exit You can load a folder containing textures for biomes. Biome folder paths are saved in the settings.ini file, so you don't have to reload them later on. Requirements Windows OpenGL 3.3 and a video card with relevant drivers Download Latest release Source code1 point -

Remember that awesome LEGO logo with the falling bricks used by LEGO since the first LEGO Island? After LEGO Media and LEGO Software stopped "existing", they started to use bland, boring logos, especially in the TT Games era, which is now. So I made this... I really would like if LEGO actually did this (Link to Video)1 point -

Axel's Mod 1.5 (Updated, 4/10/2015)
Lair reacted to Axel for a topic
NEW POWER PATHS, MODIFIED ICE-ROCK BIOME Basically, the power paths that the Rock Raiders tend to avoid standing on for too long have been modified to look like you're not supposed to stand there. In addition, any power path completely surrounded by other power paths will now be square. The IceRock biome now has a different floor texture, as well. I'm thinking of modifying the standard Ice biome slightly. And if you noticed, I'm using high-poly Rock Raiders now. The low-poly ones comparatively look terrible. And though it is not visible in this image, I've changed the color of energy crystals slightly to better match their color in the videos and Lego sets.1 point -

NEW BIOME My goal for the biomes is around 15 biomes - 12 biomes more than vanilla Lego RR. One thing I've been doing my best with is trying to make my new biomes fit in with the Lego Rock Raiders aesthetic and quality, so it's very important to me that I get things looking polished. If anyone has any criticisms/suggestions on these biomes, please let me know. Now, there's the RockFallStyle issue I've not been able to resolve. It looks like I might only be able to have 4 RockFallStyles in the game. If this is indeed the case, then I have a way to work around it without looking totally like crap. Colors. They will be based off of color. I wrote up a quick thing for reference for myself: The colors need to match the biomes reasonably well. And this thing: This is a stalagmite. My hope is that one day, stalagmites and other scenery objects will repopulate the desolate ground tiles of Lego Rock Raiders.1 point -

Rock Monster reacted to McJobless for a topic
This site has been running for 4-5 years. There are members here across all age groups, with thousands of posts and hundreds of likes under their belts. We have collectively worked together to solve some of the toughest modding challenges for these classic games. We are universally recognised as THE website for classic LEGO games. If we say something is a certain way, chances are we speak the truth. If you can provide evidence against us, then you're welcome to challenge us, but without the evidence, you need to learn to have respect for the people who are responsible for this site being what it is.1 point -

Are you seriously implying that I would somehow "cheat" to show something that, if it had actually been a "cheat", could have been easily disproved by anybody else? That would be an incredibly stupid thing to do. Yet here you are refusing to believe something multiple people have said and one actually shown with a screenshot, yet you're claiming they're all lying, without you even testing it for yourself. Wow. Edit: Here's a video I recorded to show you, as apparently you don't want to test it for yourself:1 point -

Wad Refinery 2.0
Lair reacted to Cyrem for a topic
This tool is old and has been replaced with >WAD Recycler. Wad Refinery 2.0 Wad Refinery makes building, un-packing, and backing up both Lego Rock Raider's Wad files a one click process. Just dump the program in your LRR install directory, make your changes in the LegoRR1 and LegoRR0 folders, then whenever you want just start Wad Refinery and it will re-build both Wad files so you can test your changes. This is also a easy alternative to people who use the no-wad method as you can go back to using the WAD method and not have to use the WAD Tool to compile changes each to you modify some things. This tool can also be used to un-pack and backup the Wad's. In the archive you download there is a Bat file that will start Wad Refinery with the parameter to un-pack or backup instead of building the Wad's. New in 2.0 Wad Refinery 2.0 is a complete re-write of the program and these are the improvements over 1.0. No more Command Prompt Windows! Backup WAD's UnPack to Data Folder Download: here Please post "feedback" rather then questions like "Will this even work?" or "I don't get it...". Enjoy.1 point
