LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and the GHG

If you have ever have attempted to mod LEGO: Star Wars The Complete Saga, you may have discovered that the games characters don't have any texture files. Unfortunately, the textures were embedded in the GHG model files themselves. A quick look at the STORMTROOPER_PC.GHG file confirms these suspicions. Sure enough, after the 30 byte header of the GHG file, the header of the first texture file (DirectDraw Surface) begins with its image data following afterwards. Using a hex editor, it is possible to extract and edit each texture from the file. Below is the result of extracting one of the textures. However, editing or extracting textures via this method can be extremely time consuming and difficult for modders who do not know how to use a hex editor. So, in hopes of finding a better way of extracting these textures, I resorted to IDA Pro and Hex-Rays to decompile the games executables in hopes of finding code that might assist me in extracting both the textures and the models. However, IDA quickly ran into trouble. For some reason, IDA was unable to create any code from the data section, I pulled up the PE Sniffer from PE Tools and to my dismay discovered why IDA was unable to read the section. The executables code was being protected by Armadilo. Someone over at TT Games was smart enough to add an anti-decompilier so that we couldn't break into their code. I wasn't going to waste time trying circumvent the protection so I decided to continue my search. Fortunately after digging through the forums, I found a tool that would extract the GHG's into separate DDS and OBJ files. In comparison with NinjaRipper, the tool is much faster and easier to use. However, the textures are not applied to the models so anyone hoping to use these files will need to reapply the textures themselves. Also to my surprise, there are no tools that allow conversion back into GHG. It is my hope that Sluicer creates a tool to convert back or at least releases the source code for the GHG to OBJ software so that someone else may build upon that code to create a OBJ to GHG converter. For now though, I shall remain using NinjaRipper as for it provides a better output than Sluicers tool. Back to model ripping I go!3 points -

Monster truck wheels (replaces the wagon wheels)

I made this tiny mod that replaces the Wagon wheels with re-textured wheels from Baron von Barron's car, making it look a bit like a monster truck. I mostly just copied the data straight from BVB's car files in piecedb into the ones from the wagon (DA). I hope I didn't forget to include any file in the mod so if you try it and it doesn't work, please let me know. I decided to make a car for Scooter in LR2 today: To match the chassis color with his car in LR1, I modified the original .md2 file for the dumper chassis to use the light gray color. I also changed the car design rather than just laying out the original parts because the original design is bland in my opinion. I decided to go with having it shaped like his car in the Game Boy Color port, except with the PC colors: I added a flag to finish the car off because I thought it was a nice touch1 point -

I've had these sitting on my PC for a while now but I just now got around to uploading them because Sadie asked. First, the three models from the Rapid Rider box. NOTE: This model requires parts that are NOT INCLUDED with the set in question, specifically the 1x3 slopes (some pictures of the set show it with 1x3s, but the set itself has 1x2s in their place) And next, a small, unassuming hovercraft from the Tunnel Transport box EDIT: Kabaya sets. The image includes both the standard models and the alternate models. I started to build the combiners but LDD crashed and I didn't feel like restarting.1 point -

Well it works fine for me when I'm using the Save. It's actually looking for "R.O.C.K.E.T. .R.A.C" (the . are 00 bytes) as an AoB and then replacing the following bytes (.2.U.P) with .E.R.. This only works if you are using the Savegame. If i's not working please give me some more Information about what is not working. (not finding anything / replacing doesn't fix the name ... etc...)1 point -

It applies the same - If the P2 is unnamed it would load up the default name (I guess that's "UP2") So your name would load up as Rocket RacUP2. Except the Profile got created with P2 being named something like "er sucks" - not sure about that... didn't try (might even work if you rename P2 in the main menu). That needs some testing I guess. Edit: Some Manipulating made it possible for me to call myself "Rocket Racer" in Adventure Mode. I'm going to redo that now I guess: Adventure Mode Name: Rocket Racer (self-explaining) Adventure Mode Model: Rocket Racer (Player looks like RR) Adventure Mode Car: Rocket Racer Car (in every world) I'll make a 0% and 100% Save - and upload it. Well... Problem is you can't even do you 2P Mode anymore - just tried. And it can mess up so your name "resets" to Rocket RacP2. Might upload a 0% anyway1 point -

If you enter a name that is longer than a certain number of letter/symbols (afaik 10 - it won't do it with less) it will start to "fill up/load" the name of Player 2 as part of your name. (i.e. P1: "Rocket Rac" P2: "er sucks" will show the name of P1 as "Rocket Racer sucks" - in case of P1 being "Rocket Ra" it will remain as "Rocket Ra" and not load the P2 name as P1 name - P2 should be "er sucks" in both cases. Thats just how the game loads the values from certain addresses)1 point -

Hey guys, been a while since you've seen this topic hasn't it? Well Sadie recently supplied me with higher quality pictures of the box of the LRRHQ, so I'm redoing these models to fix mistakes, and laugh at how wrong I was the first time. First up, the crane vehicle. Just... I was nowhere close on this one. EDIT: AAAAAAAAAH IT'S STILL A BIT OFF HOLD ON LEMME FIX THIS EDIT2: Eh, fixing the small mistake I noticed created bigger issues. I'll have to redo the whole structure, but for now this is close enough. EDIT3: I did the buildings as well. Still working on the big one but I've got the other two done. Putting my custom baseplate to good use ^_^1 point -

An amusing quirk I noticed today while screwing around on the Dig-A-Brick track. Damaged AI cars often collide with and get stuck behind trees while driving to the pit stop, and when the game resets them, they end up on top of said trees, often getting stuck there indefinitely (or at least until another car teleports up there too and knocks them down, or you hit them with a weapon).1 point -
