Insane Raiders No. 22 - Idle Games
Ben24x7 and 2 others reacted to Arthuriel for a gallery image
From the album: Insane Raiders
It was only a matter of time until the Rock Raiders would discover the thing, they are best at: eating sandwiches dying during badly timed TNT explosions playing Idle Games (or Incremental Game or however you may call them). They either require just a running computer or additional mouse clicking, which means, that the Rock Raiders with Idle-Syndrome are the best skilled Idle-Gamers out there.3 points -
Monster truck wheels (replaces the wagon wheels)
RacerRabbit and one other reacted to TheStranger for a topic
I made this tiny mod that replaces the Wagon wheels with re-textured wheels from Baron von Barron's car, making it look a bit like a monster truck. I mostly just copied the data straight from BVB's car files in piecedb into the ones from the wagon (DA). I hope I didn't forget to include any file in the mod so if you try it and it doesn't work, please let me know. Screenshots: Download link: monster wheels.rar Edit: I just realized the thing in the back of Joan of Cart's car is a stake because Joan of Arc was burned at a stake.2 points -

Cough cough. No need to be all imprudent about it. You aren't the only composer on RRU, you know. Others may want a chance to compose for this too.2 points -
Menu music audio quality changes

A rather subtle bug that's been subtly bugging me for a while... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZEZdaV0TAc From the main menu upon first starting the game, entering the Circuit Race, Single Race, Versus Race, or Time Race menus will make some sort of change to the quality of the music being played (see above video - you may want to use decent headphones). The music sounds a bit buzzier, particularly the drums (I'm not an audio guy so I don't know what that'd be called). Entering the Build menu does not make the change - upon returning to the main menu from Build, entering one of the above menus will still trigger the change. Oddly, entering the Options menu does not make the change, despite it continuing the standard menu music like the other affected menus. This change does not reverse itself upon going back to the main menu; once it's been altered it's set like that until you restart the game. I'm using the 2001 version. I'm not sure which state is the "right" one, or if this happens in the 1999 versions (don't have mine installed to check). It's not something you're prone to noticing, but once you've heard it, it's a bit hard to unhear it. Is it just a bug in the game that everybody has, or could it be more specific?1 point -

From previous works, this is where I see you guys shining best: Shadowblaze: More for the upbeat music, maybe action moments or something like monsters invading your base, or panic because quick erosion, or other missions that are more on the on-the-go side. Perhaps the pre-tension music too like danger present but not threatening. Drill Master: More for the relaxing ambient music when nothing is going on but just mining, exploring, whatever. Polaris: You haven't given us a link to hear a few music samples of any of your work, nothing can be told of you.1 point -

Carmine Wheeler, Mob Boss of the Racing World
aidenpons reacted to Phantom Terror for a topic
In a world where racing is the only thing that matters, one robot controls it all. Carmine Wheeler, notorious race fixer and gambler, has the whole world in his pocket. CEO of the largest wheel and tire manufacturing company, he has enough money to keep the PD and Courts in the palm of his hand, as well as fuel his gambling. If you ever take out a loan from Wheeler to bet on a race, he'll probably end up with it back in his wallet, while still wanting the amount you borrowed. --------------- Imgur Gallery Flickr Gallery Really pleased with how this guy came out. He was a really big leap for me, but I think I pulled it off. He sports a custom mouth decal, cigar, and expressive eyes. Definitely a MOC I am very proud of.1 point -

Minifig texture names
Rock Monster reacted to lol username for a topic
Has LEGO confused enough character names yet? Yes? Too bad, there's more! Most minifig textures in LEGO Racers have the names of the minifigs condensed into two letters, often as an abbreviation, or just two prominent letters in their name. Gypsy Moth is GM, Ann Droid is AD, Black Jack Hawkins is BJ, etc. Textures for generic minifig heads available in the minifig builder seem to have abbreviations of generic names - LG (LEGO Girl?), LH (LEGO Head?), LM (LEGO Mustache?), and LS (LEGO Sunglasses?). For the most part, it's smooth sailing... Textures for minifig torsos that aren't part of characters explicitly in the game (as opponents at least) are still named after characters they are used in... This is where things get a little weird. EO IN MJ MM TU Now let's look at some characters... Eddie Octane Indy LeMans Majisto Mandy the Mechanic Turbo Charger Two of the three, Majisto and Mandy, are correct - the other three got shuffled around. At least for Turbo Charger, who was included as a pre-built character, they got his appearance and name right in-game... Well, not completely, they gave him grey pants instead of white. I'm fine with that though, it's not like there aren't a thousand variations of each 90s Town minifigure anyway. And you can still build all the other characters without a problem, the name confusion is just internal texture stuff. Well, Majisto's beard isn't available, but until we can edit head/hat models there's not much we can do about that. And then this head is named "WC". Is it a character name we haven't heard of? Is it a generic name like... White... something? Odd. Also, Achu is "TC"... Tribal Chief?1 point -
Menu music audio quality changes
Rock Monster reacted to lol username for a topic
I've narrowed down something else that triggers it - playing two menu slider selection sound effects in quick succession, even when sound effects are turned all the way down in the options menu. This means it can be triggered in the build and options menus as well. And once it's been triggered once somewhere, it applies everywhere, until the game is restarted. And no, it's not the placebo effect - I wasn't expecting it to happen in the build menu, and it took some experimentation to figure out what exactly was triggering it there/exactly how it could be reproduced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svwhM-eXUY0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNNI9elui7c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=427vgtMZ2Rc It does seem a bit less pronounced in the YouTube videos than it does in the original recordings or game, though - perhaps I should just upload audio somewhere else where it's not compressed like that. Or you could just pop on some good headphones, go in-game, and try it yourself. Scratch that, I just had my volume turned down. It's still very audible in the YouTube videos with volume turned up.1 point
