Bot Talk: The debat of alternative rock, computer emotions, love and a hyper dimension dragon?
aidenpons and one other reacted to someswedish for a blog entry
Do you know Cleverbot? Do you know the avatar version of Cleverbot, Evie? If both of your answers to these questions are no, they are Artificial Intelligence which can talk semi-normally. I just discovered today that they added a male version of the avatar "Cleverly" named BoiBot, so i decided to let them have a chat by copying and pasting their responses to each others. This is what happened, enjoy.2 points -

Heyo. We've already met and talked on chat. I think we'll get along just fine. RIP LU, Though some of us barely knew you. You were the best game ever And we'll attempt to recreate you forever. When I read your name I cry a lot, Knowing I wasted my time smashing that bot. You were the best It's obvious through my never-ending protest. Everyone, sign this petition that brings it back to life! Petitions always work, like cutting steak with a butter knife!2 points -

LEGO Digital Designer LIF Extractor
H0Gmger reacted to JrMasterModelBuilder for a topic
Game Extractor has had the ability to extract LEGO Digital Designer LIF files for a while, but since Game Extractor isn't very stable, I wrote my own LIF extractor in Python. The download contains the Python source file for use with a python interpreter, as well as Windows 32 bit and Windows 64 bit executables. Download LIF Extractor GitHub For those of you who will probably ignore the Readme.txt file entirely, here's the information on it: You accept full responsibility for how you use this program. This program is released under GNU GPLv3. LIF Extractor is a command line utility for extracting the LIF files found in LEGO Digital Designer. It will extract all files contained inside the LIF archives, into folders adjacent to the archive it was called on. The LIFExtractor.py file requires a python installation to run. The executables found in the folders have no dependencies. Choose the proper folder for your operating system. The Python script has been tested to work on Python versions 2.7 through 3.2. To extract LIF files, pass the path to the LIF files as command line arguments to the program. On Windows, this can be done by dragging and dropping the LIF files onto the LIFExtractor.exe icon in the explorer window. This program was created to allow for interoperability with the LEGO Digital Designer formats. In order to properly read the LEGO Digital Designer formats, it is necessary to access the data contained with the LIF file archives.1 point -

The Ace Railgun reacted to lu9 for a topic
This is a project of mine of "remastering" the Game Boy Color version of the LEGO Island 2 soundtrack (which consists of different versions of the ones in the PC/PS1 port, and some exclusive ones.) PC/PS1 Ports: (x) LEGO Island Theme (x) Castle Island Theme (x) Adventurers Island Theme (_) OGEL Island Theme (_) Phanta Sea (PC Brick Dive) (x) Dark Forest (PC Whack-a-Bot) (_) Brickster Theme (PC Brickster's Palace) (_) Boss Battle (PC Mr. Hates Boss) Originals: (x) Title Screen (_) Cave(_) Jungle(_) New LEGO Island(_) Credits (x) Cards Menu [Soundcloud Link] (note: the songs don't loop, they only play once) As I make more of these I will update the thread. any comments?1 point -

Heyo, J-red here!
Johnnyred reacted to Fluffy Cupcake for a topic
You've come to partially the right place. Here on RRU we don't mope around about LU too much, but rather look to the past and future of other great LEGO games that still live on. LU was good while it served its purpose, but that is a time now come and gone. Mind your there are a few revival projects out there, but they may just never be the same.1 point -

The DAT format has changed
Quisoves Potoo reacted to lol username for a topic
http://aluigi.altervista.org/papers/bms/ttgames.bms The game can't run on the extracted files (not surprising given the text files come out as gibberish - there's also the possibility they don't allow for reading of anything but compiled .DATs now either; without a way to test with 100% properly extracted files, who knows). But we can at least view the other files now. Thanks to Luigi for getting us that far! Looks like there's data for a Gladiator and three new mixels in the game. I haven't encountered those, yet, so maybe they're unused, unless somebody else has found them. There's only the one Rock Monster. If anybody wants to take a shot at figuring out the ZIPX chunks, we've got text files from previous versions of the game that have almost certainly not been altered in the new update, and could be compared with the new encrypted/obfuscated/whatever bits. I replied to Luigi asking if he's planning on doing any more with it. Edit: Sounds like he's gonna investigate further.1 point -
American Traffic Props Update: August 28th, 2015
le717 reacted to dsdude123 for a blog entry
Since it's the end of the week, I would like to share some more screenshots of some of the new content coming soon. Model ripping has slowed down a bit as for the noesis script that Sluicer is working on will most likely be a better alternative for model ripping once the script supports textures so I plan on waiting until the update is available. As for the traffic props, many new road tiles as well as some other props have been added. Version 1 of the American Traffic Props package will launch on September 5th. It will be available in an all-in-one package as well as separate downloads for each prop.1 point
