Sunday Special: Power Poles!
le717 and one other reacted to dsdude123 for a blog entry
Good day all! Just got done with a 17 hour power outage today after a huge wind storm passed through the area. That being said, I got a bit bored and decided to mess around in LDD. I made some power poles for LEGO Worlds that come in both 2-line and 3-line variants. There are also variants of whether the pole has a transformer or not. Do be aware that these models don't include power lines so you will have to build them yourself. If anyone wants to see more different types of poles let me know and I'll see what I can do! Terrain Map wiki page providing incorrect information
risingstar64 reacted to sheepandshepherd for a topic
Floor isn't really determined by the Surf map, although floor tiles in LRR can have either 0x0 or 0x5* values in Surf.map. It's the Dugg map that determines empty floor tiles, with either 0x1 for visible caverns or 0x2 for hidden caverns. The split-up map component format is annoying. * For the record, 0x5 almost certainly used to be Soil before it was removed. No idea why those few LRR maps use it for ground tiles, maybe the developers got confused after removing Soil A few other things I can explain (I ran into these same issues when I made my map editor): The solid rock padding is purposely added in by Map Creator. Basically, telling it to create a 5x5 map actually creates a 6x6 map. The reason is that the last row and column are not visible in LRR -- they're ignored except for their High.map values, since High.map defines height at the top left (northwest) corner of a tile. The map sizes are indeed stored in the 9th and 13th bytes, but it's unknown how long they are. My map editor treats them as single bytes, since making maps larger than 255x255 is a bit overboard. But Xiron has mentioned having a 256x256 map, which would suggest they're at least 2 bytes long. AFAIK, nobody's ever tried using the third or fourth bytes, since that would require a map with a dimension of 16777216 (it'd crash LRR even if it's technically possible.) The map data does indeed start at the 17th byte. Although the map data uses 2 bytes for each of the tiles, none of the map types has any value above 255, so the second byte is always 0. You can ignore it.1 point -

Information Central [Modular MOC] As part of the great Mayhead City redevelopment, the town's old, dated information centre was completely renovated to provide a better experience for tourists wishing to find out more about the local area. The new building both manages to maintain the iconic interior of the old information centre and project the centre's design into the future with a state-of-the-art viewing platform. Look familiar? Thanks for looking!1 point -

The DAT format has changed
Quisoves Potoo reacted to lol username for a topic
http://aluigi.altervista.org/papers/bms/ttgames.bms The game can't run on the extracted files (not surprising given the text files come out as gibberish - there's also the possibility they don't allow for reading of anything but compiled .DATs now either; without a way to test with 100% properly extracted files, who knows). But we can at least view the other files now. Thanks to Luigi for getting us that far! Looks like there's data for a Gladiator and three new mixels in the game. I haven't encountered those, yet, so maybe they're unused, unless somebody else has found them. There's only the one Rock Monster. If anybody wants to take a shot at figuring out the ZIPX chunks, we've got text files from previous versions of the game that have almost certainly not been altered in the new update, and could be compared with the new encrypted/obfuscated/whatever bits. I replied to Luigi asking if he's planning on doing any more with it. Edit: Sounds like he's gonna investigate further.1 point -
American Traffic Props Update: August 28th, 2015
le717 reacted to dsdude123 for a blog entry
Since it's the end of the week, I would like to share some more screenshots of some of the new content coming soon. Model ripping has slowed down a bit as for the noesis script that Sluicer is working on will most likely be a better alternative for model ripping once the script supports textures so I plan on waiting until the update is available. As for the traffic props, many new road tiles as well as some other props have been added. Version 1 of the American Traffic Props package will launch on September 5th. It will be available in an all-in-one package as well as separate downloads for each prop.1 point -

[6:01:51 PM | Edited 6:02:08 PM] Professor Brickkeeper: It would work similar to my past LLotR mod, where a new item entry was copied from Boromir's horn, given by default to Gandalf, and set to play Gandalf Sex as the charge and attack sound. [6:02:07 PM] Will Kirkby: [6:01 PM] Professor Brickkeeper: <<< Gandalf Sex [6:02:13 PM] Professor Brickkeeper: Oh.
