Lego "Angry Birds" sets arriving in 2016

They seriously couldn't be arsed to make the Pig structures easily destructible? Isn't the whole point of Angry Birds to destroy the buildings of your opponents?1 point -
Custom Test Track v0.1
aidenpons reacted to lol username for a topic
In case you don't know, aidenpons, this isn't at all unusual for collision detection in games - it's not "turning off" anything, it's just what Sluicer said. And using a warp in the vanilla test track very often leads to you falling out of the track.1 point -
Custom Test Track v0.1
aidenpons reacted to Sluicer for a topic
Sorry, no update yet. But I will try to give a few answers and comments. I used LDraw Tools to create two files. One is the 'mesh' of the track, the other one is the colliding map. I wrote a little bit of source code, that creates the GDB and BDB files out of the 'mesh' file and the BVB file out of the colliding map. But currently you have to respect a lot of rules to create a working result. The process is absolutely not user friendly and I did not wrote down any rules or tutorials by now. Today, I do not know a simple way to create tracks. A lot of work was done manually! Here are two images of the LDraw files: This is the 'mesh' file. You have to respect the back face curling. The different colors are for different textures (black -> 0 -> first texture; blue -> 1 -> second texture, aso...). There is no chance to create vertex colors! This is the colliding map. Here you also have to respect the back face curling (here green is the front side, red is the back side). I removed the bottom plane so that you can see something. This is the base for the tree in the BDB file. The game will not let you drive through a triangle from the front to the back; but the other way around.1 point -
Lothar, Ancient Cyclopian Guardian of Okoto
aidenpons reacted to Phantom Terror for a topic
Flickr Album In the time before the Toa, before the Mask Makers had their falling out, Lothar protected the region of Earth from dark forces that threatened its inhabitants. Wielding a club composed of rock and iron melted together and possessing the ability to fire a beam of concentrated light out of his eye, nothing stood in his path for long. When Ekimu fell into his deep sleep, Lothar fell dormant as well. Centuries passed and now he is only a myth to the citizens of Okoto, but he is still deep underground in the caverns of Okoto, waiting for Ekimu's word to rise again.1 point -

Information Central [Modular MOC]
aidenpons reacted to Ayliffe for a topic
Information Central [Modular MOC] As part of the great Mayhead City redevelopment, the town's old, dated information centre was completely renovated to provide a better experience for tourists wishing to find out more about the local area. The new building both manages to maintain the iconic interior of the old information centre and project the centre's design into the future with a state-of-the-art viewing platform. Look familiar? Thanks for looking!1 point -
Carmine Wheeler, Mob Boss of the Racing World
aidenpons reacted to Phantom Terror for a topic
In a world where racing is the only thing that matters, one robot controls it all. Carmine Wheeler, notorious race fixer and gambler, has the whole world in his pocket. CEO of the largest wheel and tire manufacturing company, he has enough money to keep the PD and Courts in the palm of his hand, as well as fuel his gambling. If you ever take out a loan from Wheeler to bet on a race, he'll probably end up with it back in his wallet, while still wanting the amount you borrowed. --------------- Imgur Gallery Flickr Gallery Really pleased with how this guy came out. He was a really big leap for me, but I think I pulled it off. He sports a custom mouth decal, cigar, and expressive eyes. Definitely a MOC I am very proud of.1 point -
Wokmot, The Eternally Angry Bug God
aidenpons reacted to Phantom Terror for a topic
Nobody is sure why Wokmot, the God of Bugs, is eternally angry. Some speculate it's because of his lack of two eyes, others say it's because of an experience he had as a child (probably something to do with Christmas, idk), or maybe it's that he must maintain a stern outward appearance to keep his army of insects and arthropods in line (you know, for world domination when spiders are kamikaze-jumping off of dragonflies onto the faces of unsuspecting humans).1 point -
Unitron Deep Space Defender (remix of set 6973)
spacepals reacted to IncogM for a topic
I'm a pretty big fan of the extremely short lived Lego space theme Unitron. The theme only got 4 sets total and 3 of them were only released in the States. They were the original counter-parts to Spyrius, but for whatever reason they didn't stay around anywhere near as long. Since the theme only got 4 sets, it ended up lacking a really big spaceship. Since I'm not really a fan of the Ice Planet theme, I decided to take the awesome big ship, the Deep Freeze Defender, and build it in Unitron colors. I also modified it to better fit in with Unitron's other sets. I've dubbed it the Deep Space Defender. I built most of it in LDD first so I would have an easier time ordering the bricks. I couldn't just swap colors because Ice Planet uses a different balance of white/blue/trans than Unitron uses blue/gray/trans. Heres the actual test build I did to finalize the design. The middle received the most change here. Finished product: I managed to not take a good picture of the middle section. So heres the LDD. Its got a maneuverable star-fighter vibe to it in person. Satellite dish in the middle section All three segments Rear engine compartment houses the same spiffy auto-launching little scout vehicle that the original set had Front pod attached to rear engine, kind of a gunboat feel to it Next to prototype1 point -

I had an email conversation with Dave back in December, he's a really nice guy and had lots of cool stuff to share. Some info on the crazy development of LEGO Island 2... Rock Raiders PS1... There was a canceled Technic video game: Also, it was DDI who originally pitched the idea of a LEGO soccer game, but like LI2, LEGO took the project from the original company and sent it over to Silicon Dreams for actual development - the result being Soccer Mania.1 point
