Announcing MOCWorld!
ProfessorBrickkeeper and one other reacted to Ayliffe for a blog entry
Hi! I'm happy to announce that through MOCWorld I've copyrighted the words "MOC" and "AFOL", so if you ever make a MOC or anything out of lego again we'll sue the living daylights outta you. Of course, this is all for your own good. Have a nice day! - Ayliffe2 points -

I had a look into the xbf files from the game LEGO Stunt Rally. They contain 3D data. Here is a small peek at my current results. A track part: A building: A pickup: And two cars from the workshop (I think they are unexpected detailed): More to come (The orange is the goal).1 point -
LEGO Stunt Rally development artwork
Yellowberry reacted to k-g for a topic
Hello, As a thank-you to the community here for helping me get the game running again on a modern PC, I'll be posting some images from the development of the game. I'll start at the very beginning: the pitch! The following images were created as we were pitching the game to LEGO Media. The original concept was pretty clear from the beginning: it was LOCO meets Micro Machines. We iterated on these images as you'll see below. The original name and logo we whipped up for the pitch. The game kept the name for much of the development period. Probably the very first mockup. Here we are just exploring the view angle, car size on screen, what kind of information to show on screen, that sort of thing. UI Mockups Some vehicle ideas. The original pitch included quite a bit of customization to the car - the player would be able to tweak springs, rubber bands, tyres, etc. for optimum car performance. Character profiles - we all loved the punk guy from LOCO. Early ideas demonstrating the in-car camera view. First sketch for the workshop. More to come!1 point -

I can't even run LEGO Island on Win 10. It ran once then refuses to run every other time. Same for the configurator. The process starts, then closes without any errors. EDIT: I got it to run once more! I get this... Same thing when looking out the windows of the garage.1 point -

Only a small update. There are still small areas I did not know what they are for. Especially in the header. Some files contain some kind of hirarchy. For example the cannon. It is divided in three parts: cantrack, gun1 and gun2. Between them there is additional data. I think that is animation information but I do not know jet. I will compare the unknown sections in the car files (there is no hirarchy). When they are equal for the cars we can create an alternative car (and an orange). I do not know if the game is running with an extracted archive, but the algorithm for packing should not be that complicated. Here are two new examples: (One texture is wrong) (The pink areas are transparent in the game)1 point -
Enable Manual control over your car

So last night I figured out I needed the /FROMLAUNCHER and it worked flawlessly. I'm also playing this game using my PS3 controller > right analog stick is the mouse and R3 is click so I don't have to put the controller down for anything. If anyone would like to know how to use a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller for this game and all other games and full control of your PC feel free to ask (all free) but you guys seem like you know what's up. One thing though, I found these other parameters in the _msr.exe file, anybody know what all of these do? /FILES /DEBUGINFO /WINDOWED /FREEFORM RESTART /LOAD_TEXT /RES_FILES /IGTEST /XAFTOXBF /NORES /NOINTROVIDEO /CDIN /FROMLAUNCHER /ALLAI1 point -

Run Stunt Rally without a CD

Excelent! Maybe I will have to get out my Stunt Rally game for the first time in years. Also, a command line argument for DRM? That's almost as pathetic as extracting an executable to a temp folder then deleting it when done, but I like.1 point
