    Runaway Train

Yeah, it got tired of the island. If you look closely you can see the station master was about to go in an upright position and didn't follow it through the portal. The original plan was to have a lot more minifigs chasing after the train in the second or so shot, but I spent so much time on other things that I just didn't bother (i.e. porting the train over was one of the a big ones, actually none of the models used were made before the animation started). Also the rotating pizza-disc was a pain in the butt to get anywhere near right (yes I animated it, see?). Fact: This was the first video where I had to use a video editor. Credit to mumboking for the Li2 loading screen idea, I wasn't entirely sure what my plan after the portal was going to be, so. I have an idea for my next animation, which won't be song based (le gasp!). It also might be a bit longer, so I may do another small music animation like this on the side. As a last note, for the next time I use Island 2's map there is a potential for HDR to be enabled (proper/better lighting) and correct water textures, as I've been working with Hamhock to fix some things. Low Framerate Glitches

Forcing LI2 to run at low framerates (in this case, 5 FPS) causes some weird stuff. 0:14 Clipping through the level geometry in the Skate Park. 0:51 Out of bounds in Mr Hates' Camp. 1:56 Animation bug(?). Not impossible to see without low framerates but definitely easier. 2:05 Out of bounds in Pepper's House. I've done this at normal framerates but it happens much more rarely. 2:58 The physics in Desert Speedster totally freaking out - flying across the level and eventually exiting the skybox. 4:58 Getting into the cut desert tomb area simply by clipping through the wall. Also, some screenshots of things I didn't get video of. In the Brickster's Palace, it lets you fall for long enough to let you briefly land on the rest of the tower below: Also makes it very easy to get out of bounds in, say, Dino Park: (This is already known, but the islanders don't have dialogue if you get past the gate early) ALSO: It wasn't until now that I noticed you can zoom in on the map in Pepper's house by pressing shift next to it, even though there's no prompt. AAAAALSO Valerie doesn't have hair in the Skate Park, and there's a few developer characters(?) I hadn't really noticed before. AAAAAAAAALSO got a screenshot of Boney Hawks/Gnarly Bones - check out this audio file, _data\sounds\z01BPK\boney_SMACK.wav. LEGO Racers (2007 Mobile Game)

Back in 2012 I took it upon myself to record a playthrough of the 2007 LEGO Racers mobile game. I decided to do one track per part, which was 15 short parts, and I quickly realized it would have been a better idea to just do one big video. But, I'd already started uploading them... BUUUUT, these days we have the YouTube video editor! So I just combined everything into one video. Some other notes: The emulator this was recorded on didn't play any sound during the races (there's supposed to be sound effects), so I dubbed music from LEGO Football/Soccer Mania over it - aside from the beginning, which has the game's actual menu music. Also, the emulator played the game at a rather slow speed, so I sped it up to roughly match what gameplay looked like in this game trailer: Fun fact, there's also a Bionicle counterpart: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/BIONICLE_Challenge

    hello steve

Just gonna recycle this topic: The clips at 0:20 and 2:05 only happened because I was using a mod to skip between parts of the game and that broke some cutsenes but otherwise this all happens without mods. Kinda weird they even have dialogue there, as at that point in the story they've been kidnapped by the Brickster and normally don't ever appear on the island past that until the end of the game... Also I tried to put in a slow motion version of the clip at 1:51 to make it more obvious what's going on, but my video editor kept glitching it up, so just take a good look.

I never watched the cartoon, but these look cool. I like how you shaped Pearl's torso! Never had that set. Never wanted it. The only reason I remember it is because of this video:

    Hi I'm Jake

Hi my name is Jake. You might know me from nothing at all because I just made this account. I used to frequent BZPower but after awhile, I realized that I only ever visited out of habit. Oh, and that other really big reason. Seeing as how I frankly do not care in the slightest about the Bionicle story anymore, and am instead interested in cool early Lego multimedia, I came here. It's a pleasure to meet you all!

So that Adventure Time project passed review on Ideas and that got me thinking and welp (reference for peridot, pearl, garnet) I can't for the life of me figure out a halfway decent amethyst or steven. I think these are alright, though?

They actually hold on very well. MB's 3mm posts are just small enough so that they're loose in a LEGO 3mm port, but still big enough to allow LEGO's 3mm posts to attach. It's a really tight fit, and I would never attempt it with a figure's hands.

Retro LEGO Comics/Storybooks/Animated Cartoons General Discussion

Thanks for digging these up, Sadie! I really like the character studies on Roger/Red Beard--he looks more like a fit, adventurous rogue than in the final comic. Those tryout pages are awesome! I had to laugh at the epic one that looks nothing like LEGO at all, but it's definitely taken directly from the Golden Medallion. (That's definitely how I imagined the Pirate theme was, though. ) I ran the documents through an online OCR and then Google translate, here's the translated proposal: LOGO Publishing wishes to the following briefing paper to create a concept on the theme of pirates / pirates / privateers. The concept must include the following: Person Characteristics and names. The characteristics must be built-in opportunities for conflicts to an-facing presence in fiction products. Be it books - comic Games - role playing - role play - film. The target audience is primarily boys aged 7-12 years with emphasis boys 9-11 years. Individual characteristic must include both physical and mental characteristics. Required photographic material will be sent when it is released. The drawing an environmental characterization in order to both toy assortment and fiction program. Environmental characteristic must be able to provide a framework for the characters' appearance in "the universe". It should be an attractive visual backdrop for every imaginable product types. Photos of the models be sent when they are released. WE KNOW 26.08.1987 Hold 1 Hold 2 pirate captain governor 1.styrmand deputy 2. Officer soldiers, sailors, civilians including one female (evt.een female figure) figure monkey (these figures is also requested name-parrots, given and character set) The scenes are the Caribbean sea years 1750-1800. There seems a pirate ship of the frigate type, a søfort, one treasure, evt.han-delskibe and warships. It is important in concept to capture the mood and karkteregenskaberne not in any way conflict with the LEGO Group's overall objective. This briefing paper is of course subject to the clause of confidentiality submitted aktalebrev. LEGO PUdsnMp Tele0e0ee I.e3 31 30 11 88 tEGOFIwa MS Telex 80787 Mpe6k 2 Denmsrk _ e R.199999 I wonder what the photographic material mentioned looked like; whether it was mostly preliminary stuff to start with or if it was close to/actually was the finished product. Those trial pages vary widely on how close they are to the actual sets/minifigs. The story synopsis didn't come through the process as coherently, but from what I did get it was pretty clear that it's actually a synopsis for the unpublished second Pirate comic. TC

    Rama Pack v1.0

I'm happy that everyone liked this mod. Thank you all for your likes and comments! Anyhow, I'm bumping this because I need to mention two things: Since I released this mod, I basically abandoned the Racers Rally Ramas (I know it's obvious). Although I made an attempt to start by creating textures for the characters, I quickly became frustrated because the results were messy. I also thought about creating names (and possibly cars) for them, but barely got into it. Nearly two years ago, @Shadowblaze messaged me about naming the Ramas and shared some ideas. I responded back with a few ideas as well, but that was where it stopped on my end. As the school year approached, I gave up on developing them any further. I'm thinking about making an update/alternative version soon. Since the textures aren't very high-res or LEGO-accurate, I've thought about creating my own from scratch. So far, I only made Ghost's face (the teeth probably won't appear on the actual "Mohawk" characters): Not sure how long this will take, but I'll post textures/screenshots as the mod progresses. Creating the unnamed Rramas would be much easier with my own layers, so I might also do them this time. I have no Idea if the UV mapping will allow me to successfully recreate their body patterns, though.

Retro LEGO Comics/Storybooks/Animated Cartoons General Discussion

I was originally going to delay posting this until I had more to share with it, but I think I've waited long enough at this point. Within the past few weeks Per Sanderhage has kindly shared with me some more materials tied to LEGO Publishing's Pirates series, including more try-out pages by other artists who applied for the Illustrator role, the original job outline from Preben Dewald, a number of Character Visualization sketches by Per Sanderhage, and a page from the series' synopsis preceding the manuscript. What's more is that he also shared something unknown up until now - a suggestion he made to LEGO Publishing in 1987 for a Technic-based Action-series, which unfortunately didn't make it very far into development. You can find the aforementioned material in the spoilers below along with quotes describing each: 1987 Pirates Materials: 1987 Technic Action-series Idea:

Retro LEGO Comics/Storybooks/Animated Cartoons General Discussion

I was meaning to post this for a while now, but kept procrastinating over it. Anyway, a short while ago Per Sanderhage (Writer for LEGO Publishing's Pirates and Castle Kids series) sent me some Pirates and Castle comic materials. Among them are a 1987 try-out page from when Per Sanderhage opted to be the illustrator for the Pirates series before Vincente Vano Ibarra later took over that role. But where things get a bit more interesting are with the remainder of the materials, which are from a 1992 Castle comic unrelated to Castle Kids and done in a similar art style to LEGO Publishing's Pirates series, and include a genealogical table of all the characters in the comic detailing their familial and ancestral ties, seven conceptual character drawings done by Per Sanderhage of some of the aforementioned characters in the genealogical table, a polaroid photo of two Dragon Masters minifigs showing how they would look, and lastly Per Sanderhage's letter in 1992 to Preben Dewald (current Product Manager at LEGO Publishing) regarding the project. I discussed this earlier with jamesster and he pointed out that the word "Tarenta" in the title of the genealogical table was the placename of where the Castle audio dramas are set, and also pointed out that a lot of the character names in the genealogical table were either closely similar or identical to some of those in the audio dramas. [9/16/2015 4:48:48 PM] jamesster: I expect the overall concepts stuck with it but the specifics of the characters and names got switched around or otherwise changed a lot Pirates 1987 Try-out page: 1992 Unpublished/Unfinished Castle Comic
