Compare this with some Portal Racers textures: Pretty sure LEGO has an internal library of minifigure facial expressions and just tells artists/animators to mimic them or something like that. For this style of animation specifically it seems they just have a bunch of face elements like that and squash/stretch them around and flick between different ones.3 points -

A new music! This time it's Dubstep. Still, I didn't make that kind of EDM that sounds all the same. This tune's got some interesting sounds, including an Erhu, a Hawaiian guitar and a voice used as an instrument. So, enjoy! I didn't post this right away because I couldn't get on RRU for some reason. But finally I got the problem fixed (thanks Xiron and Ayliffe!).2 points -

I told prof to post this here but he didn't so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ http://fuelnewmedia.com/portfolio/lego-ninjago-virtual-reality-produktpraesentation/ Behind the scenes video and stuff. Here's the description run through google translate: (And for those unfamiliar with it, that's the Unity editor they're using in some shots, so now we know what it runs on)2 points -
Nexus Farce: Ingress of Imagination
Lind Whisperer reacted to Brigs for a topic
EDIT: HEY LEGO MESSAGE BOARD MODERATION TEAM, ELIMBIER IS ONE OF MINE. IT'S NOT PLAGIARISM, OKAY? A few years ago, I tasked myself with a writing exercise to expand on the LEGO Universe origin story, told in a dramatic and engaging narrative. It was exceedingly dark with embellished descriptions and edgy dialog. Up to now it hasn’t been published… I’d personally like to keep it that way. Excessive purple prose, said bookisms, and unrealistic diction are just a few of its infractions against the literary hobby. Thus, I buried it and eventually exhumed it a year or so later, incinerated the corpse, and built something completely different atop its remains. Hopefully this one is comically serviceable. I’m also planning to post this incrementally on the Elimbies, just to see what extent of scatological subterfuge the moderators will tolerate. I may share my results in a blog afterward. Feedback is appreciated, provided that it only reinforces my narcissistic outlook. Criticism, constructive or otherwise, will be overlooked in favor of glowing reviews by the mindless masses. New chapters will be published every Friday, and the accompanying vignettes will be posted in a separate topic in the LEGO Creations forum. LEGO Nexus Farce: Ingress of Imagination Written by Brigs Chapter 1 - Johnny Thunder and the Quest for the MacGuffin Chapter 2 - Typhonus Chapter 3 - Albert Chapter 4 – Albert’s Abode Chapter 5 - Assembling the Build Alliance Chapter 6 – A Gratuitous, Tangential Lesson in Imaginary Physics Chapter 7 – K.O.I. Chapter 8 – The Smothering Interlude 1: An Excerpt from Typhonus’s Journal Chapter 9 – Space is a Figurative Ocean Interlude 2 – Another Excerpt from Typhonus’s Journal Chapter 10 – Templar Chapter 11 – Executive Meddling Interlude 3 – Yet Another Excerpt from Typhonus’s Journal Chapter 12: Gallant V Interlude 4: Yet Again Another Excerpt from Typhonus’s Journal Chapter 13: Traversing the Reaches of Space and Time Chapter 14: The Ingress To whomever the poor sap is who decides to write up a TV Tropes entry for this monstrosity, you have my deepest sympathies.1 point -

I wanted to include more but ran out of space in my paint.net canvas and it felt like a good place to stop for one post. Some other things: Adventurers media did stuff like that a lot though, so if we listed every example we'd be here all day. TT and the curious case of the lowered pants:1 point -

So who it is warrants who and who doesn't get backlash for reviving? Sir, I don't think that's how things work around here. More VR demo-y things, weee! As cool as VR is, I think I'll consider waiting a few more years before I consider getting a VR, and not just because price.1 point -

Most of these things were clues to Galidor and we are at fault for not exposing LEGO in time. You all better start paying attention before they release another cancerous humanoid theme. That LU Commercial reminded me of this: EDIT: You forgot to include these1 point -

Actually, that's a skeleton. If you don't see it, look at the skeletons in Matching Mummies in the PS1 version for comparison. More evidence Boney Hawks was intended to have some sort of actual role in the skate park!1 point -

Oh yeah, I remember hearing about this VR thingy nearer the toy fair itself, mainly because it provided us with one of the finest images from the event: Other than that, it's pretty interesting to see TLG get back into the VR game after that Project Darwin stuff back in the 90's. I wonder if we'll see more of this in the future from TLG?1 point -
