Matrox Mystique Demo
mumboking and 4 others reacted to Alcom Isst for a blog entry
I don't know much about the first PC that I owned and played games on, it was a custom PC that my dad built and he doesn't recall anything about it. For certain, though, I know what graphics card the PC had. It had a Matrox Mystique, a card from 1997 with which I played its exclusive version of MechWarrior 2, among other games. I still have the driver installation disc, and dug up the beautiful video within demonstrating all the features of the card.5 points -

Shout out to all the parts tubs Lego sold in the mid 2000s because they overproduced Bionicle sets and needed to clear out parts. I accidentally got this one and it's basically a bajillion bohrok arms and Onua Nuva masks with only 7 or so axles that can be used to connect the other included pieces. No pins. So if you were buying a big bin of lego with the intent to build something using it, well, I've got some bad news for you2 points -

... Wow, do I actually have to explain this? Really? You're equating products... Things designed to be sold to people... Things that have high expectations inherently placed on them... Products... ... With people's creations? Really?2 points -

A topic where people bash other people's models is the opposite of a good idea for reasons I surely hope I don't have to explain. I'd advise sticking to official sets if you want to keep this topic open.2 points -

Also re: Aaron's post, some of those don't actually look so bad. I'd love to have a small set nowadays where you could get a chrome crown/sword, a horse, a decent enemy, and even some fairly-useful bricks for a castle wall. I mean, yes, it's embarrassing in terms of design, but it'd be a nice parts pack. As for the hockey guys, I never owned the ones you displayed, but I pick up 3557-3559 at a clearance, and they were honestly pretty fun. LEGO Hockey wasn't all bad.1 point -

Custom Bricks for LDD
Quisoves Potoo reacted to polymaker for a topic
The last part I was working on got added in the last LDD update... So now I'm working on this one: The models are almost finished (I convert LDraw files to obj but they have a lot of gaps and need cleaning-up). For the collisions and connections I haven't started yet, I'm still working on my software to help create the xml file and I don't feel like doing this one by hand.1 point -

LEGO Fusion support ends July 1st
aidenpons reacted to lol username for a topic
Just thought I'd post this here for those who might be unaware: http://www.lego.com/en-us/fusion/support Presumably this means the apps will be removed after that point. Maybe support for visiting other people's towns/resorts/towers via LEGO ID will end then too (which I haven't even tried yet, lol whoops). Also, has anybody ever noticed the odd gap in LEGO Fusion set numbers? http://brickset.com/sets/theme-Fusion 21207 is missing. Maybe that was Portal Racers?1 point -

Chapter 6 is up, and so is the image that was to accompany chapter 5. Anyway, here's a quick recap for those of you trying to figure out what the blok is going on these past couple days. I recently began my infiltration of the Elimbies, but some particularly dense asterisk didn't get the joke and summoned the wrath of the moderation team upon my topic there. Elimbier's former signature stated that he was eleven years old. And somehow he interpreted this response... ...as evidence that Elimbier was a completely different person from me. The notion of creating a fictitious persona in the interest of comedy must be completely foreign to him. And don't even bring up the "lying" allegation, because it's so obviously said with tongue in cheek and we all know people claiming to be Time Lords and whatnot in their signature but nobody gives a fuss about them. My topic was thus reported and the moderation team retroactively rejected my topic on grounds of plagiarizing this very topic here on RRU, despite the fact that I expressed intentions to propagate this on the "Elimbies" in the foreword, never mind asking of them to scroll down for context. In their mild defense, they aren't familiar with the rich history of that term on this site, but surely they would be cognizant enough to correlate Elimbies with Elimbier, an account that has been in position now for well over a year. I submitted this appeal in the form of a topic bound for rejection. Oh, and it was entitled "An Appeal for Sanity". I'm leaving up that edit at the beginning of this topic as an artifact of this encounter, and because I find it outright hilarious. In a surprising act of lucidity on part of moderation, the topic was reinstated, but shamefully this follow-up message submitted prior to the topic's rejection wasn't. The culprit, inexplicably, was still completely lost at this point. Instead of drawing the logical conclusion he soon points out that Elimbier's signature indicates that he's twelve now. By the way, it's Elimbier, with a limb. Typical Elimbier, making such spelling errors. Also, nothing was merged, it's just a restoration of what he had them take down. Then he wrote up this gem on his LEGO account. This naturally escalated into a masterful prank, beautifully cataloged in the posts above and scattered across the RRU chatroom. Note the beautiful title. To which he replied... Immediately afterward... Upon realization... Underlined for your convenience. Jellyfish ensued, and the truth has been elucidated to the Hero of Origami. Chromey, either you are a brilliant troll or just stupefyingly gullible. Wow, that went a lot longer than I anticipated. TL;DR... Yeah, he's totally pissed over the whole ordeal. Also, according to our edifying chatroom conversations, I'm apparently the devil now, and Nog is the Queen of America. I regret nothing. God save the queen!1 point -

Yeah, I'm going to add to the consensus that Town Junior wasn't all that bad. It obviously got a lot of flack back in its day for taking the place of more complex Town sets from previous years, but I'm still somewhat fond of them.1 point -

BIONICLE RETURNING 2015
ticketstoloservile reacted to emily for a topic
So I'm bad at art still, but here's what I'd sort of like the upper part of the Vahi to look like in an ideal world: It ends up being more of a headdress than a mask, but it still a) would fit on a modern bonk head, b) only covers parts of the face the lower half doesn't, c) wouldn't look half bad in the plastic, I don't think1 point -
