How do you change the menu around?
Lind Whisperer reacted to Fluffy Cupcake for a topic
BACKDRP.BMP is 640x480. I don't think dimensions is a problem though. I tried some odd values smaller and larger than the original, and it still worked for me. As a side note, saving the image in either 8 or 24-bit didn't make a difference for me. If you'd like to share the image either here or privately I'd gladly test it to ensure it is or isn't the problem.1 point -

Tanker truck
Lair reacted to Wirza for a topic
I do believe this is the first time I've posted a moc. Anyways, let's dive in! This is a tanker truck I put together this morning. My first moc of the type. I had to fill up as much space as possible. The vehicle base i used only allowed for one tank without overhanging. At the time of building, I had access to only a small fraction of my Lego collection, unsorted of course. The right side. I feel like the sides of the tank could have been covered up better, those exposed studs look ugly. The front. Sorry for bad image quality. If there's one thing I could change, it'd be the grills. It's placement is just so awkward. The roof. Nothing that interesting to see here. Ah, the back. The least flattering angle of any tanker truck. I took a note from the 2009 Version and covered it up with a ladder. Filling up my terribly placed Gas station/ convenience store/ cafe. If I had more space, I'd move it away from the police station and Castle. So, how would you guys grade my first vehicle moc not based on an existing product? I love constructive criticism! See ya all later.1 point -

LEGO Island REDUX
Lind Whisperer reacted to bphillips09 for a topic
Hey everyone, sorry for the massive delay. I unexpectedly had to go out of town for a while and then immediately started summer classes when I got back home so I haven't had much free time lately. Sorry I didn't keep my word on having a build out "in less than a week". That's completely my bad. To everyone talking about integrating VR: I'm considering adding the option for people with SteamVR-capable HMDs to use them in the island with basic teleportation and such, but haven't had the time to test it out myself. I'll keep looking into this option in the future though, and agree that this isn't exactly the type of game that would/should/could utilize what room-scale VR has to offer. @Ben24x7 I like that image as a placeholder! To everyone else, sorry again for the delay. I definitely haven't abandoned this project! I also had lots of issues with unauthorized access to my PC (you can read about it here) and had to basically wipe the PC as a precaution. I didn't lose any game files or anything, but that added to me being set back when it comes to all my Unity games (including this one). Just wanted to give y'all an update, and say that I am working on LEGO Island Redux still, although updates will (obviously) not be as frequent as they were when the project was first started.1 point -
LEGO Portal Racers
Lind Whisperer reacted to lol username for a topic
F1, F2, F3, and F4 seem like they're intended to load the four worlds, but in reality it seems to be random. They count as going through a portal though, so that's an easier way to easily unlock all the racers. Also, in a pit stop, E turns the timer to 0 and lets you go without repairing your hoverboard. If you hit one of the buttons to load a world and K at the same time, your hoverboard will be destroyed, but it'll load the pit stop. If you add modules there, you'll continue racing with only a floating minifigure and the modules. If you don't add modules, you'll just continue playing as a floating minifigure. Crashing in this state freezes the game. Also, the pirate hut right there is the captain's hut model from LEGO Universe:1 point -
LEGO Portal Racers

I've just downloaded the game again after noticing that the name of the installer currently up for download on lego.com is different from when I originally downloaded it. First one I downloaded was LEGO_Portal_Racers_Setup.exe, 404 MB, now it's LEGO_Portal_Racers.exe, 484 MB. I'll investigate further later tonight. Edit: The only difference seems to be a heavy update to the Intel RealSense SDK runtime stuff. The actual game seems unchanged - I haven't compared MD5s of files or anything but there's no new or removed files, and they're all exact the same size as before. (And as further confirmation, the credits still list the game as version 1.0.) Oh, and the installer runs on a newer version of Inno Setup (had to update to a newer version of innounp, the unpacking software). The game seems to be locked to 30 FPS... Could we fix that? Also, the credits say the game was developed by Metaio: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metaio Did some googling: http://www.idigitaltimes.com/lego-portal-racers-metaio-uses-intel-realsense-camera-technology-augmented-reality-434642 They also did the LEGO digitial box things at LEGO stores: http://metaio.com/fileadmin/upload/documents/press_articles/ds_3_2010_lego.pdf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv1bthDKjHw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gquUFyBjLlo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwN6urXiPvw Team names, yes, but character names, nope. Looks like character names aren't stored in the main text file, so I never saw them. (Where are they stored then...?) For those who haven't played yet: Team Earth: David Jay and Dee Jane (get it, they're DJs) Team Pirate: Major Sunshine and Racebeard Team Robot: Ultimate_1 and Ultima_1 (Ultimate_1 is male, Ultima_1 is female - well, they're robots, really, but yeah) Team Alien: Luna Lightspeed and Liam Lightspeed1 point -

More stuff. UI things for the boards and modules: Some more UI stuff, looks like some of it might be to explain how each part has three versions/can be upgraded: High res logo: Panels for an intro comic of sorts, not sure what order they go in but the text is below so it should be easy to figure out (they were all crammed into one big atlas texture, they're split up here due to imgur turning the full thing into a jpg even with the option enabled to upload high quality images): And here's all the text for the game... Sorta. I used a couple different Unity ripping programs, the one that got text ripped properly didn't get this particular file, while the one that did get it didn't really spit it out in a very readable form. It's all there though: http://pastebin.com/DChF6cMy Here's the interesting-ish bits: Yeah, the backstory is pretty much the same as LEGO Racers, lol.1 point -
Animation: Lewa and the Rama

Me likey very much I think we all have a soft spot in our hearts for MNOG and I'm not quite sure why. The beginning first 30s or so seem a little high-tech for MNOG, but the rest is spot-on. I really like it My one critique is that for plot and gameplay, I wouldn't show Lewa being beaten up & mask swapped out, I'd leave that to build tension, but that's my personal choice and I understand my personal choices are usually horrible. I remember your "Bohrok attack Ko-Koro" animation - have you made any other MNOG ones?1 point -

Was trying to identify a printed piece and I came across this. So naturally I was really confused because why has nobody brought this up before? It's kind of hard to miss something like this popping up in a LEGO set, isn't it? Then I looked at the set it came in.1 point -

The installer doesn't run unless you have the camera, so I ripped the files from it. The game checks for the camera after the splash screens so I can't play it (not that I expected to be able to, and even if it didn't check I presume there's no alternate control methods). It runs on Unity. I'm gonna have a go at ripping music and perhaps textures from it later. Edit - I'll be dumping stuff here as I go. Here's some texture rips. Audio seems to be licensed/recycled. earthBackgroundMusic is Glory Days, which was in LU's assets but unused (as far as we know, that is - it could have been used in some earlier world). pirateBackgroundMusic is LU's pirate camp music. robotBackgroundMusic is audio network music also used for racing in LU. I don't recognize alienBackgroundMusic. There's also various files just called backgroundMusic: One is Reminders, LU's beta Crocodile Corner/GF Race Place music. Another is LU's beta "shooting gallery"/world stats screen music (yay!). Another is LU's character select/Nimbus Station music. Another is LU's original login music (which was a real pain in the neck to extract properly from LU's FSBs, btw - it was this weird six channel MP3 in a special FMod-related format or something along those lines...). The last one is LU's monument approach music. Got the main asset file extracted, the first program I tried was crashing on it so I had to find another one. Here's some goodies! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=555262 The folder probably won't be public for a while so here's some samples: The four teams are hipster DJs, pirate skaters, aliens, and robots. Here's deeplinks to the mugshots: '> '> '> '> '> '> '> '> And body textures: '> '> '> '> '> '> '> '>1 point
