Custom LEGO Universe Skins/Models

hey remember that really early LU trailer with the grumpy darkling battle (starts around 1 minute in) the LU devs were kind enough to leave some early face textures in some layers of a random PSD that was in the game data for some reason, and there's some early NPCs that still use those early UV maps, so (yeah he holds the sword in the other hand in the trailer but how it is here is how pretty much all weapons in LU were actually held) bonus: some random screens of crux prime I think are kinda cool, and one of them has the eyepatched trailer dude too9 points -
The LEGO Batman Movie

New sets! Hi new sets! Apparently the two mime-type figs are the "Kabuki Twins," who only ever appear in "The Batman," the cartoon from the mid-2000s. So it sounds like they really are digging deep into Batman's history for material. EDIT: the cylinder on Robin's gun says "Bat-Merch" It's a t-shirt cannon, isn't it6 points -

LEGO Island 3 invades LEGO Racers
aidenpons and one other reacted to Zed for a topic
I found out that LI3 is compatible with TexMod. There's no point in enhancing the aesthetics of a horribly broken game, but I wanted to see its textures anyway (for some reason, they were all mirrored and upside-down). After ripping them, I thought it would be funny to put the textures on LR characters. I present Peeper Rony, Loona Rum, Ball Dung, and one of the stupid ambulance guys. Also, Joanny Fundurr is here2 points -

The torso textures and the Spyrius guy's face texture are edited from Return to Blockland 1.045, the Royal King's face is edited from a texture made by Aaronburner05. (Pereki pointed out that the name "Major Kartofski" seems to belong to the Spyrius android.)2 points -
Scrapped LEGO Racers Game (2009)
Lair reacted to ProfessorBrickkeeper for a topic
As some of you may remember, back in 2009, prior to the merge of multiple games into LEGO Battles, one of the games features on the boxes was LEGO Racers: The Video Game. This evening, while I was scavenging around the wastelands that are the internet, I came across the Behance portfolio of Donald Robertson, who had posted a collection of concept models and art from the game. (The full collection can be seen HERE.) After some more research and poking around his profile, it was discovered that he worked at Firebrand Games at the time, a company which specialized in racing games for the Nintendo DS. From here, someone managed to locate his website, which housed not only copies of the images and videos linked above, but early, in-game screenshots from the game, which we have never seen before. All in all, seeing as this is all stuff nobody has seen before, I thought it was important to bring this to people's attention. (Also, while people were following up on this tuff in the RRU Skype chat, somebody found http://project0.wix.com/comes-to-life, which belongs to Sergey Grey, on of the leads on the scrapped LEGO Racers game, who coincidentally ended up moving over to NetDevil later that year, to work on LEGO Universe.)1 point -

Here's one for Mythrun/Ari. It's a re-creation of something I did back in 2012 except done properly and in-game this time. Figured out a lot of new modding tricks and possibilities while working on this one as I had to work around several roadblocks and technical quirks. Also got a lot of screenshots in case he ever wants to do stuff with them: http://imgur.com/a/t1HNn1 point -

The Deadly Spaceman from Brikwars. Aside from just being a cool character, he also stars in the art that changed the direction of LU from a city-themed game to... Well, something more like Brikwars. http://rayhawk.livejournal.com/439433.html http://brikwars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11548&p=303203#p303196 So it seems quite fitting for him to finally appear in this game.1 point -

*poke* LU stuff sure has come a ways since then huh? This conversation reminded me of my earliest posts on the lego message boards about LU: We got the Explorien Bot specialty and the GM-only jetpacks were given out to players just before the game closed (though actually a friend of mine who was a LUP was able to get me one early), so that only left playing as Chip. Merdon just made a nice face texture (see above), so I only needed the torso - I just took a screenshot of Chip's video on the character screen in Stunt Rally, and through a combination of Paint.net and waifu2x (lol, but hey it works) was able to get it looking kinda okay (though it's ended up with DDS artifacts anyway). I reskinned Skee Daddle's original model, so first here he is as an NPC: And then I swapped out the main model with that (turned down the shading quality as it breaks otherwise): There, I've done everything I originally wanted to do in LU.1 point -

I love how this stuff has been around for two years and nobody ever noticed it. Hah. Good, a long standing mystery finally resolved. BTW, for those who haven't seen it, here's the ad that was on set boxes. Until now, it was the only thing we knew about this. So tl;dr for this topic: Firebrand Games was working on "LEGO Racers: The Video Game", it was for Nintendo DS, and was never released.1 point -

Lair reacted to Tacku for a topic
Hello, Rock Raiders United community. I've been on-and-off lurking these forums for a while, and decided to join. I used to be fairly active on BZPower under the username "Tacku" too. I'm a fan of classic LEGO video games, particularly LEGO Island, LEGO Racers, and LEGO Alpha Team. So, hello to all of you! PS: By the way... yes, I am the same Tacku who made the not-so-good LEGO Island fangame...1 point -

Apologies for replying to a very old thread gents, came across this while checking out some old reviews. As jamesster mentions above I did a track for LR2 as well as SFX for Lego Island II. WaveConvertPro was a tool in use when I arrived at Silicon Dreams Studio, as I recall there were two specific qualities that it was considered good for. The first, was the ability to link properly with 'Waves' sound processing capabilities, they were considered excellent professional plugins at the time. The second was the power and adaptability of the batch processing tools. A lot of the work at Silicon Dreams Studios was concerned with their football titles - UEFA Champions League and Dreamcast Soccer. Due to the 'commentary' soundbites, as well as standard sound FX, these games had several hundreds of individual clips, some of them needing clever concatenation and naming conventions so you didn't get lost all the time. WaveConvertPro was great for this. As for usage in the title above. We were given a damned small amount of memory for the soundbanks, 4MB as I recall. WaveConvertPro would definitely have been used to reduce the sample sizes. The tunes were actually created using the now defunct MS DirectMusic system, which I adored. Usually used for music that adapts, it was used in this case to deliver straight tunes to final product. Steve M1 point
